You are correct about the 1704. We hope to have one next week for testing. -
Wireless? or Conduit?
iSpyVision replied to Agent_Jay23's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
The EB1304Net works great for a low cost 4 channel DVR. Its Dark Blue in color if that's the one you are thinking of. We use them everyday here with no problems. -
Hardware Compression
iSpyVision replied to cctv_down_under's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You are correct CashCreek. The Avermedia 7000 series is hardware compression with H.264 . We have sold and tested this card with great rersults. Excellent image and small file size. -
Almost all DVR's are moving towards or have a USB connection now. CD backup is a thing of the past and are being replaced with USB flash drives which hold more data and are small and easy to use . We are a AVerMedia dealer for the West Coast so if you have aany questions just give us a call. Thanks

Wireless Video Solutions Leaders
iSpyVision replied to nachzeher's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
I understand. I really don't have time to build my own radios anyway but I am always looking to save a few dollars on a "working" system. So I guess my question is would you entertain the idea of selling your radio setups on a case by cases basis for a reasonable price? Do you set up dealer accounts? I see your not to far from us. Thanks -

We recenty did a job that we used Avalan 900mhz radios. We had to send video 2000' NLS thru 6 giant 2 & 3 story houses not to mention countless giant maple trees to a building that was surrounded by redwoods. I didn't think we had even a slight chance of getting signal with all that. We actually ended up getting 4 1/2 bars out of 5 at 30fps. All I could say was "Wow" -
Check out this portable DVR. Coming out soon in the US and is suppose to be very durable. http://www.aver.com/dvr/eb1304mob.html

Ooops! I was wrong. I checked with one of our techs and as stated above RAID 0 simply combines the drives to look like one drive thus if one goes down they all do since data is spead among them. RAID 1 will mirror the drive providing data loss protection.

There is also a power down in windows that shut the monitor down after 20 minutes. In you screen saver screen there is a power option button. Click it and you will see the power down option for the monitor.

Your high spped provider may have changed the port they use for email such as port 80. In that case you will need to change to port 81. Try www.canyouseeme.org to see if your ports are actually open. I would bet port 80 is noe being used by your carrier.

Insurance requirment for off-site video recording?
iSpyVision replied to VST_Man's topic in General Digital Discussion
All I see here is a huge LIABILITY. If you host it, They get robbed or someone gets shot, you don't have the shot they need or want due to only having a few cams hooked up on your remote video storage, who do you think everyone is going to come after...YOU! The only reason his insurance company is giving him a break is because now all of there liability is now resting with you. Make sure YOU are insured for this as well. My experience with it is most insurance companies won't cover you especially if his insurance wants video coverage asumming all 32 cams are being recorded off site. Better to farm it out to a monitoring company. -
We usually run our PTZ control wire to a GV-Net card then out to the controller with no problems.

We used RAID 0 for a police station as they requested and it worked fine. It does everything you would need to protect data in this type of appilcation.

Avermedia or GeoVision?
iSpyVision replied to Helheim's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
The new Aver 6480 PCI express card runs 480/480fps at 640X480 with software compression. Geo doesn't do that. Also I found out that to get 720X480 Geo Stretches a 640X480 image. Aver has a true D1 720X480. I too sell a ton of Geo everyday but when I see Avermedia specs and have tested most products it really makes one think. Whats more important to the user? Quality of video or quanity of features! -
Avermedia or GeoVision?
iSpyVision replied to Helheim's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Got to play with it a week ago. Pretty cool. Would have been nice to have had it last year. Had a need for it then! Not many clients need 256 camera display but its cool to show people that we can do it. -
Avermedia or GeoVision?
iSpyVision replied to Helheim's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
We have been a Geo distributor for years. We recently brought Avermedia on board and are very impressed with the cards and standalones. The card mentioned above is a real screamer. There New 16 channel PC based standalone is real nice as well at a great price when compared to the Geo built system. The main reason we added them was for the ability to have both IP cameras and analog cameras on the same system. We have been waiting forever for Geo to do something. And were still waiting! -
We installed 11 Panasonic WV-CP484 a couple of weeks ago outside. These are real nice day/night cameras with mechanical filter. They even have auto focus by just pushing a button. The night vision was very nice with no IR needed with only star light. PM me if interested in them.

a "Pirated Software Question"
iSpyVision replied to CraigVM62's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Not all sellers on Ebay are scammers as many would lead you to beleive. Our company has been selling on ebay for years. The reason legit companies would sell on ebay is its cheap advertisement. We use to have many inquires from dealers saying " I saw this camera on ebay, do you have something like it or better?". That's when we decided to list items on ebay to attrack new dealers. I agree that there are many fake items being sold by people out of there appartment on ebay. The same can be said for so called dealers who come out to your business to sell you a system. In our years in business we have seen some real crap that so called dealers had sold and installed for people. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone, I just want to make a point that there legitament CCTV companies that sell on ebay for various reasons. -
You need to use the top 2 slots and the bottom 2 slots for audio. If you look next to the top and bottom slots there is a JA1, JA2 etc to corrispond with the the the cables in order so audio 1 can be with camera 1. I was told the other slots (center ones) are for audio out if I remember correctly. Never needed them!

problems with geo 1480 ver 8 and 16 port audio board
iSpyVision replied to jeromephone's topic in Geovision
Check the way you connected the audio card to the GV main card. If you hooked one of those 4 cables wrong in one of the 4 slots then you will have that problem -

VGA extension cable between GEO and video ins?
iSpyVision replied to uglyb0b's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
One of our dealers installs the same way with the extension cable2 when the customer doesn't want 16 coax cables running down the wall. -
There is a Geovision Y2k style bug for 7.04/7.05 that was activated on March 28th affecting the video log. You will see the recorded files disappear for previous dates even though they are still there when you click on them. We have gotten tons of calls about this error yesterday. Good new is that it should fix its self on April 1st. Mean while you can just move your clock forward on your system to the 1st to view the files.
