This company makes some nice TouchScreens but they are not cheap and special order but designed for what you are looking for.
-
You could use 3M Micro Touch, VD, ELO, G-Vision, Planar and even NEC I believe the problem is touch screens just bite period when it comes to a great picture plus most CCTV cameras are 520tvl and less and LCDS are alot higher so the picture looks crapy.

Since you are the Authority I will obey..this time...NOT!!! Hey thats the cheapest thing I have ever seen beside Lorex or Swanson and you mentioned ulimate budget and POS??!!??!! In my book POS means 2 things Point of Sale and Piece of S_ _ T. Fill in the blanks as you want.
-
There is only one surefire completely independent Day night solar camera for this applictaion!!! Here is the link
http://www.extremecctv.com/product_detail.php?producttype_id=7&page=1&product_id=77
Its Extreme CCTV's EX27NXP-MECC 2...any more questions???
-
Heck those aren't budget!!! This is budget
http://www.supercircuits.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=5432
Seriously though GE, Arm DRX and DM are the ones I sell for POS or just add an VSIPRO to any dvr but I have heard alot of bad things about March Networks although they look nice but I havent had the opertunity to work with them for some odd reason....
-
If they already are using a wireless network and you can plug into that then something like this might work
http://www.hawkingtech.com/products/productlist.php?CatID=24&FamID=15&ProdID=281
The only wireless I have seen go through walls is 900mhz or uhf band like these
http://www.videotransmitters.com/index.php?SCREEN=view_catalogue_level2&id=9&prod_ID=5
but the video quality isnt very good. If your budget is what Thomas has translated then you are pretty much S.O.L.
-
If they have an RJ45 as well as a BNC or composite I would say its either a Hybrid camera or its a built in balun.
-
Believe it or not I think a local family owned store has those exact cameras..not sure about the zoom lens though. Is that 3 prong plug used for the lens controls you are referring too??
-
Hey Chuck did you ever find a system you liked?? If you didn't check out GE's you should. If you did check out GEs and didn't go with it for some reason I also have alot of success with this http://www.1pcsc.com/
-
The problem with facial recognition is all it takes is some glasses or a hat to throw it off. So they application you are refering to would best be dealt with either a good staff who know the rift raft or somebody monitoring the store constantly.
-
Are you going to use the tv's for watching tv too?? If so are you going to modulate the cctv cameras to different channels so you can utilize the existing cables already ran for cable tv?? If so do you have satalite or cable? Is it HD? Two outputs is easy, you could use a splitter, t connector or an inexpensive DA(distribution amp-recommended). If you already have a good PC you intend on using and budget isnt to much an issue I would use some IP cameras and a wireless hub or if your house is prewired with Cat 5 you could just plug and play using the right equipment.
-
So before you took it apart I assume you tried to hook it up??
-
Have seen a couple but heard they aren't reliable and can be fooled to easy.
-
What is the device you have them pluged into? Make and Model? I am pretty sure it can be done if you have the right video card in the PC but you still might have to buy software or maybe even a converter depending on what they are plugged into.
-
Hell you can have an auto dialer hooked up to any kind of alarm trigger from a smoke detector to motion sensor even water temp if you want a controlled environment. If you want good live viewing you need a T1 at least. You can get desent viewing with a good proprietary compression and not to many high res cams. You can always get more connections though. How many cameras you looking to do?
-
Design them all day long and then some!!!!
-
I WOULD COMMENT ON THE SHOW BUT ITS STILL A SORE SUBJECT SINCE I DIDNT GET TO GO.
-
Dude I thought you bought from us?? If somebody here treated you bad enough to buy mace let me know and I will rectify it for ya.
-
So basically the images are blurred do to the motion being to fast?? If thats the case get cameras with faster shutter speeds.
-
You could use a wireless IP camera with wireless router or a good old analog wireless transmitter and receiver. Is there a clean line of site between where you want to put the camera to the DVR?? If not try to have the receiver and transmitter wired to were at least they will have a clean line of site.
-
Ya alot of the dvr's out there now have several methods of accomplishing what you want to do.
-
So whats your speciallty?? I think we have them all covered...hope you find what we have.
