  1. The AV100 software is a pile of poo, it never detects the IP and loses the IP address even if 'locked' to the camera. You're better off just detecting the IP with a scanner like netscan. The Arecont rep said they are aware that its crumby and are looking to do new software but thats probably awhile away.
  2. Apparantly when they used the DVR throttling it not only reduced the bandwidth over the WAN it also slowed the live views locally over the LAN.
  3. Hi Guys, My clients are looking into throttling the amount of bandwidth that the exacqvision service uses. What ports would have to be throttled is it just port 22609? Regards, Jon
  4. My understanding is they're having problems with various Exacqvision users taking up limited bandwidth for remote sites by constantly viewing. This is users viewing sites over the WAN, not viewers on the LAN. So you're suggesting just lock down whatever profiles the users are using? Do you have to limit the whole client bandwidth or can you do it by user profile? Cheers, Jon
  5. Funny you should mention that. I'm having a mare at the moment trying to setup a 3VR to email externally.
  6. Hello Everybody.. I have a few queries regarding the connectivity criteria for Arecont IP cameras. I've got a number of 1310DNs that are showing up ‘unable to load camera feed’ despite being pingable and http connectivity to the camera being present from the System Manager server. On the Discover IP/network camera function from the smart recorder these cameras are showing up as being ‘unknown areconts’. Basically I would like to know what diagnostics I could run from the network point the cameras are plugged into back to the smartrecorder to ensure that network connectivity is completely present. It would be nice to be able to find out why these particular cameras are not feeding to the smartrecorder. Wireshark analysis etc? Its wierd because they seem sometimes to be intermittently contactable but then the feed drops off again. I'm new to the whole CCTV thing really so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jon

    3VR with Arecont

The guys from 3VR now seem to think its some problem with the dual streaming on JMPEG and H.264. I tested streaming through both on VLC and only the H.264 was sending a picture so maybe thats the root of the problem.. The saga continues.
