    Swann DVR 4 Pro

I tried searching for the .DLL file on the CD, but all that is there is the .EXE installation file. Tried using Winrar to open the archive to search for it but that does not work. I downloaded VideoPlayer 1.1.5.8. It works to view recorded video but only in some circumstances. For example if I use Video Server E and click the record icon then it records and writes the .VSE file to the hard drive on my PC. If I use the VideoPlayer software I can view this movie file. But if I have set the DVR to record and in the settings screen and then I download the record list, then back it up to my PC, it writes the .VSE file and if I try and play it all I see is a black screen in the VideoPlayer as if nothing was recorded. Any ideas?

Thanks, You are right in that it simply overwrites when the hdd is full, no problems there. The only problem remaining is that once I download the recorded video to my PC I have no way of playing it. The video server e software keeps returning a DLL file error.

Thanks for your reply. Does it mean that you are not supposed to erase the hdd, but new recordings continually replace older recordings? I will check the CD when I am back at the shop for this missing dll file, today is a public holiday Will let you know if it works, thanks,

    CCTV Supplier - Good Prices!

Would have to agree, that Swann is rubbish. I bought one for our business here and the instructions and documentation is as good as useless. Can't tell you how many hours I have spent trawling Google looking for simple answers that should be in the instruction manual. Avoid Swann like the plague.
  5. Hi all, I joined this forum to ask a question as I am having some issues with this Swann DVR4 Pro system that I recently bought. I have been a little disappointed so far with this product, the documentation that comes with the product is basically useless. All the problems I have had I have had to resort to Google to solve, and correct me if I am wrong but when you invest in a product the documentation should give you all the answers you need. 1. The DVR hdd is full, how can I delete video from hdd to free up some room? 2. How can I play the *.dvr files that it produces? I have tried VLC player, tried renaming the files to *.avi, downloaded Netviewer and nothing seems to be able to play the files. I have tried also using the video server e software to play the files and get an error message about a missing DLL file, have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and still get the same error. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks for your help. Aaron
