  1. I think I would have tested the system in the shop with a few camera before installing for client. If you would have tested beforehand you might not have this problem now. With that said... Can you return the cameras? How did you pay? Did you buy from distribution or did they sell direct?
  2. Call and ask to speak to a manager or supervisor. Explain the fact you were waiting so long for an RMA ticket and are still waiting on the replacement... let us know how they respond.
  3. I respectfully disagree. If the router is provided by the ISP they should be able and willing to help.
  4. Yes... When the port(s) you need is opened you should be able to see your DVR. Your ISP should be able to guide you through the process of opening ports with your specific router. Give them a call. Good Luck.
  5. Try this website. Type in the port number you want to check (37777) and click check. It should tell you if the port is open or closed. Good Luck. http://canyouseeme.org/

Looking for help on long range night cameras.

I would try speaking to them individually. As the saying goes "catch more bees with honey than vinegar". Perhaps speaking to them nicely will help. If they are your neighbors the last thing I think you want is more conflict. Even when you catch them in the act what then? Try to solve the problem.
  7. Based on the specs it seems like an outdated machine. Why not buy a standalone NVR?

  10. OK so they want a camera in the elevator that's vandal proof you are going to sell them an Axis M10?
  11. Boy do you take it to extreme... What if they already have some analog cameras deployed and don't want to have budget to replace? What about some areas like elevator, broom closet, etc. Do they need MP for those rooms? Its not garbage if its acceptable to the client... IMHO
  12. I'm not sure I would call it that. Having tried Avigilon VMS its not bad at all. Very easy to use. The problem is that when on a forum and you hear the same brand over and over again you begin having doubts about why they prefer Avigilon. Is it the profit or is it the funcionality? For example... Many like Axis from what I hear, not many want to sell it because there is supposedly little to be made on the equipment from them (low markup). Hence the reason its probably not pushed... And some members here like to push their VMS choice down your throat...
  13. Let us know how you like Vigil. The only one who seems to praise Vigil is Soundy and off course he is outnumbered by the Avigilon dealers.... This forum seems to likes to push only few brands... "No competition please" should be slogan.

    Control Your Garage door opener

No. But if you mount the unit next to the door, as soon as you drive in you could press the hold button on the unit. That's great - can I press it remotely using a web browser on my Android smart phone?

    Control Your Garage door opener

There is a "hold" button on the unit. Which will stop the timer while you are unloading your car. And does far less. The problem with a fixed timer is it will close the garage door no matter what is going on. Would you want your garage door to close on you while you were in the process of unloading groceries from your trunk? Have fun cleaning up when the garage door squishes your jug of milk... Plus there's no remote control capability like the OP wanted.
  17. For your DVR... Try "kMEye". Its in the app store. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/kmeye/id400175888?mt=8

    My wiring "closet"..

So many people are afraid of making holes in walls. If its not plaster, it i usually just Sheetrock which is easily repairable. Installing in climate control area is desirable. Basement, Laundry room, etc.
