Try this website. Type in the port number you want to check (37777) and click check. It should tell you if the port is open or closed.
Good Luck.
do you have to call uour isp and open port 37777 so that you can view these ip cameras? i been stuck on installing them for a while!thanks for your help!

I would try speaking to them individually. As the saying goes "catch more bees with honey than vinegar". Perhaps speaking to them nicely will help. If they are your neighbors the last thing I think you want is more conflict.
Even when you catch them in the act what then? Try to solve the problem.
Legally I can not do what I'd like to them -
Which one is the cheapest price wise?

^That's amazing - with the analog camera, the minivans aren't even visible. The extra detail with the megapixel really makes a difference! -
Based on the specs it seems like an outdated machine. Why not buy a standalone NVR?
I first need to figure out how I am going to record...as I said I have an older PC with 2.5ghz processor 500 something mb ram and a network card.....can I turn this into the network recorder? -
Whats are the specs of the computer you are using?
I have Axxon Smart installed on my server, but I'm not currently using it. It's probably #2 on my ranking of free NVR software. The installation is pretty heavy, the program itself is slow (slow to install, slow to start up, slow to respond). It has no problem connecting to my Rainbow(Dynacolor) cameras using the ONVIF or Dynacolor drivers. I don't think I was able to get the camera's internal motion detect working, but I am able to control many of the camera's settings from within Axxon. The intelligent video analytic features seem to work well, but obviously use up some resources. One drawback I've discovered is that it doesn't have the ability to email snapshots, unless I just missed that setting somewhere. Otherwise it seems pretty good as far as functionality, and it's easy to use. The only reason I'm not using it now is because the software motion detect uses too much CPU and I couldn't get camera MD working. I haven't uninstalled it yet because I still want to try to make it work, but I'm testing another one right now. -
Which one do you use?
How do you like this one?
Also, depending on the size of the DVR, I like to place laptop chill pads underneath the DVR. Works very well to keep the unit cool and can be powered by one of the DVR's USB ports or via a power adapter with a USB charger port. -
Nice job.

OK so they want a camera in the elevator that's vandal proof you are going to sell them an Axis M10?
Boy do you take it to extreme...Come on man what's an M11 or M10 go for... Under $250 for the M10 right... That's LESS than the labour to hookup the old system and get a frame grabber for god's sake!
Doesn't make any sense what so ever to me...

Boy do you take it to extreme...
What if they already have some analog cameras deployed and don't want to have budget to replace? What about some areas like elevator, broom closet, etc. Do they need MP for those rooms?
Its not garbage if its acceptable to the client... IMHO
[And WTF would anyone care about a "hybrid"! WTF would I use a legacy cam on a new deployment...
YANK THAT ANTIQUATED GARBAGE
PS PoE ALONE is enough reason to yank that oldschool CRAP

I'm not sure I would call it that. Having tried Avigilon VMS its not bad at all. Very easy to use. The problem is that when on a forum and you hear the same brand over and over again you begin having doubts about why they prefer Avigilon. Is it the profit or is it the funcionality?
For example... Many like Axis from what I hear, not many want to sell it because there is supposedly little to be made on the equipment from them (low markup). Hence the reason its probably not pushed...
And some members here like to push their VMS choice down your throat...
PS I have a good nose for BS ehh -
Let us know how you like Vigil. The only one who seems to praise Vigil is Soundy and off course he is outnumbered by the Avigilon dealers....
This forum seems to likes to push only few brands... "No competition please" should be slogan.
PS if I get into this Vigil will be a COMPETITOR and ENEMY -
Sp where is it? Mind showing us?
Can you spot the CCTV camera in this picture? -
No. But if you mount the unit next to the door, as soon as you drive in you could press the hold button on the unit.
There is a "hold" button on the unit. Which will stop the timer while you are unloading your car. That's great - can I press it remotely using a web browser on my Android smart phone?

And does far less.
The problem with a fixed timer is it will close the garage door no matter what is going on. Would you want your garage door to close on you while you were in the process of unloading groceries from your trunk? Have fun cleaning up when the garage door squishes your jug of milk... Plus there's no remote control capability like the OP wanted.

For your DVR... Try "kMEye". Its in the app store.

Sir its okay, you are still the best on this forum, simply the best, even better than all the rest ... definitely better than most of the pros, you are still CCTV KING to me, dont let those jealous members get you down, they only dream of being KING like you, dreamers all of them -
Was wanting to do it inside but I cannot find a good place I'm comfortable about knocking holes in the wall at.So many people are afraid of making holes in walls. If its not plaster, it i usually just Sheetrock which is easily repairable. Installing in climate control area is desirable. Basement, Laundry room, etc.

Yeah I dont know whats up with all of the inflammatory douche-baggery lately.Neither do I. Some members here seem to like makeing waves.
Also how do we know he is not sponsored by manufactures he is reviewing and pay him to write reviews on their productsHow do we know anybody else on the forum isn't? Some members here seem to push one brand with an intensity surpassing some company's sales reps... How do we know they are objective?

The embedded microcontroller board and the other parts cost roughly $150.This is cheaper.

Yes... When the port(s) you need is opened you should be able to see your DVR. Your ISP should be able to guide you through the process of opening ports with your specific router. Give them a call.
Good Luck.
