what megapixel camera is compatible with the gv 1480

Hi ayalas, with GV1480 card and v8.4, you can consider most of the following GV IP cameras: http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/3_1_IPcam.asp However, not all models are supported. So we strongly recommend upgrading to v8.5. To enquire v8.5, please submit a download request to download@geovision.com.tw Alternatively, you can also consider our supported 3rd party IP cameras: http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/4_21.asp Please note that for 3rd party IP cameras, a dongle is required. If you do not have one, please contact sales@geovision.com.tw. Tate

Axis 2100 IP cam on Geovision system?

Hi Nadams, You can try RTSP to add this camera into the GV-Multicam system, but please be noted that a dongle is required to add this 3rd party IP cam into GV-Multicam system. For syntax to add this IP cam, please refer to the following link: http://www.soleratec.com/rtsp/rtsp_listing.php?ip_comp=AXIS&mymanufact=1 For procedures on RTSP, I will pm you. Tate

Center V2 won't display /able to view in Control Center live

Hi Ckeeble: several more places you may check: 1. ping the DVR/NVR from your CV2 2. check to see if port at your firewall and router are open at both your CV2 and NVR/DVR 3. check on the host status in CV2 and finally.. 4. is this a LAN or WAN environment (CV2, CC, and DVR are all in the same LAN?) 5. install CV2 in DVR (same pc), set up an account in CV2 and have the DVR connect to CV2 and see if you can still connect. Best Regards,

Center V2 won't display /able to view in Control Center live

Hi Ckeeble: I would suggest to first make sure DVR can connect to CV2 and set up another account in CV2 for any of the DVRs or IP devices to connect. For studying this product, please read user manual (you can find the file in your installation CD) or send an email to support@geovision.com.tw to ask for one.

    GeoVision stops monitoring

Hi SambaNoodles, Basically, the multicam program will only stop recording after you manually stop monitoring or via the scheduled time is up There are two things you can do in NVR/DVR to automatically start recording when 1. restarting the multicam program and 2. system idle is over a certain seconds 1. restarting the multicam program > stop recording and click on F9 > under startup, tick the start monitor box 2. system idle is over a certain seconds > stop recording and click on config button > system idle protection setting >check auto monitoring, tick monitor all box and fill in the idle duration you want the system to automatically activate recording (system idle over:)

    Geovision GV-NET I/O question

Dear Gator: For the photoelectric relay type of input, as long as its voltage meets the spec of GV-NET I/O Card, it should work. The spec Input: Dry Contact or Wet Contact 9~30V, AC/DC Output: Relay Capacity: 1) USB Connection: 30V DC, 3A 2) RS-232 Connection: 125 / 250V AC, 3A; 30V DC, 3A You can choose to use camera motion/motion detectors/or photoelectric detectors to trigger output (the floodlight) and it is retriggerable as you said if you set it to be in the pulse mode (ex. if you set the timer to 900 secs, the light should be off by the 900th second if no more motion in between, but if you have motion at say, the 800th second, then the light should go off by the 1700th second) For typical applications, I have seen some people using sensor as input to open the garage door. It all depends on what you have in mind.

    Combining 2 16 Channel Systems Into 1 32 Channel

Hi Adam, You were very close to get it done... In addition to the directory, you also need to rename log avi files stored in the directory. For example: here is where the file is stored C:\GV2008\cam05\0121\Event20020121212852005.avi lets say you wanna rename cam05 to cam23, then please rename the directory cam05 to cam23, and rename the file name from Event20020121212852005.avi to Event20020121212852023.avi (note the last three characters in the file name is the # of camera) So the whole path will look like C:\GV2008\cam23\0121\Event20020121212852023.avi Then, please run database repair to fix the files Another point is that it will be a tedious process to rename all avi files, so please search online for batch file rename tools. Hope this helps

    GV 800 vs GV 900

It depends on which versions of GV800 you are talking about. the latest GV800 card can work with Win 7 and support up to v8.4 without problems. As for GV-900, if the version is v1.11, then it can support v6.13 (s1 version) and v7.05(with dongle), but I doubt you can get a dongle anywhere.

Gv-600 install, do I need dedicated video card?

Hi Drnick, You do not need a VGA card, the GV-600 is enough to take the video streams from the BNC analog cameras. You can use a onboard graphics. As for the OS, it depends on the card version. The earlier ones may not work with Win 7, but XP is definitely guaranteed to work. As for your current spec, your spec seems alright (2G RAM, 2TB HDD), but for CPU, it is better to consider Pentium 4, 2.0 GHz or higher. For spec details, please check: http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/Prod_GV600.asp
