    mouse problums

No problem. make sure that you're not knocking the connection loose if you close a door in a cupboard. Sometimes they sit loosely in the USB socket.

    Remote access help

Probably so. You shouldn't have to fill in specific ports. No-ip tracks your public ip address, that's it. Your router acts as the updater in case your public ip address changes. As long as you use your noip name and or ports when needed for login, that's what will point your drv or phone to the right port.

    mouse problums

What doesn't work with the mouse, specifically? The included mouse is usually garbage with most Dvr's of any kind. You can try a different mouse altogether and see if it works better. It may not work at all, but a simple USB mouse you have laying around is worth a try. If not, it could be a problem with the USB port itself. Is there a front and back port? Tried them both?

    Remote access help

In myeye, use your no ip name for the address. Use 8888 for the port. But in No-ip, the ip address it should point to is your public ip address, not specific drv or mobile ports. That usually fills in automatically when you set up the account within your local network. You'll also need to set something as the updater, be it in your router or the Dvr itself. If your Dvr doesn't have No-ip as a dyn choice, look and see if your router has it. Most newer routers do. You choose No-ip from the list and input your noip account info and there you have it. Make sure you've port forwarded 8888 too.

    Remote access help

While you're in there you should probably forward the mobile port too, as well as the service port. And you should probably disable upnp in the Dvr too as that could create problems if you're port forwarding manually. Good luck.

    Dahua Hybrid DVR/NVR Snapshot settings

You are getting motion recording for video playback correct? If you're not getting picture email, one thing is possible in that if you're not actually getting snapshots taken, it may not send the second email. Or, it would send the second email but with no picture attachment. But one thing is absolutely for sure- you have to record snapshots for any chance of receiving them via email. Email snapshots is not a separate thing- it is dependent on the unit taking/recording the snapshots to begin with. If you must adjust any settings remotely, do it in PSS rather than web service if web service isn't behaving properly. Ideally, make the adjustments at the drv though. I've looked back over this thread and I can't see anything wrong with how you have it set up. I can only assume that if the unit isn't taking snapshots, it's a problem with the dvr itself- be it a firmware update or a replacement. In which case, get in touch with the vendor who sold it to you for that support.

Losing the argument on the baby monitor

Personally, I would not go with that baby monitor garbage you mentioned. If I had the need, I would consider this camera highly- http://www.networkcameracritic.com/?p=2236 I haven't used one, but it sure would be a strong contender for me.
  11. Corner mounts are tough because it does make the camera stick out in a big way, from an aesthetics perspective. Putting the camera flush mounted on the very corner of a wall could provide enough dual coverage. Not exactly like a true corner mount, but it can give enough depending on what you need.
  12. If you're installing PTZ's on the house exterior, the weight of the camera is a consideration too. You have to make sure the wall is good, consider any siding/styro insulation when choosing the bolt length. Also make sure you're not hitting electric or plumbing in the wall. Also a VERY big one to consider is the location. Ptz's make noise when they pan and tilt, especially noticeable during preset tours. It is well advised to never install a ptz on an exterior bedroom wall or anywhere someone sleeps at night. You'd be surprised how much whirring noise you hear inside. So be choosy about where you put it and if you can't come up with the right location, consider not installing one.

NVR with two network ports... what the heck??

Have you posted this in their help forum?
  15. You're not going to find 16 channel 1080p systems in your price range easily. Keep an eye on costco- they have specials come up every so often and it could be that a 16 channel nvr with 8 cameras could pop up around your price range. That would get you started nicely. If you took the few months and put together a 2k budget, you'd have more options for NVR systems for sure, and that is really the better way to go when you're installing a new system. If you just want to get a decent system in place and not get too heavy into it and you have to stick to that budget, the q-see package you mention probably wouldn't be bad. I would suggest you forego the ptz cameras unless you have well lighted exteriors. Just get a package with 16 bullets or domes or a combo of each. Install the system and start monitoring. If that's all you want to spend and a 960H package falls within the budget, rock and roll. Personally I'd choose q-see over lorex but that's because I've had q-see before and they are okay. RMA defective items can be tedious and take some turn around time, but it looks like you can deal with that in case it happens. Good luck.

System with Most Powerful Mobile App

I did a quick video of multi channel playback since that is a big one for you and plus I wanted to try it too, lol. xLbzDtQ20pQ The dahua 16 poe is available from a couple vendors http://www.securitycameraking.com/16-channel-elite-compact-series-59505-prd1.html Also, playback can be recorded in the app as it's playing back. That's how it's saved to the device. You can't just choose to save a file, you have to record that file in the app to have a saved copy in your device. That's actually better because you can record only the clip you want from longer playback.

System with Most Powerful Mobile App

I can't say if it's the best app, but it sure is powerful in my opinion. And that would couple with Dahua NVR's and DVR's. I did this video a few weeks back on the app. 5RosdsxMGLo

    Dahua Hybrid DVR/NVR Snapshot settings

Have you tried to change your receive email to something else? Another email client? It sure seems like your email client is blocking the email attachment. Try Gmail for receive as well.

    Dahua Hybrid DVR/NVR Snapshot settings

Your settings look fine for motion detection and everything pertaining to picture email. I would think it's something with the firmware maybe. You'll have to reach out to your vendor for that. I don't get involved with firmware stuff with people. I tried, but I'm out of bullets with this. Sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck getting it going.

    Dahua Hybrid DVR/NVR Snapshot settings

Set it up in the Dvr so you know the settings are taking. Two things to change in your email settings. Port should be 465 and encryption should be SSL. Try that.

    Dahua Hybrid DVR/NVR Snapshot settings

Is this channel for a megapixel camera? If so, it might be that you have to go into the camera Web interface and set it.

    Dahua Hybrid DVR/NVR Snapshot settings

Everything looks right there. From memory, the Web interface is a little whack with the snapshot menu. I believe that it shows the regular setting just as a default. It's not that trigger isn't set. When you choose trigger it should show what you saved. But either refresh or exiting and going back in will show regular because it defaults to showing that one first in the lineup. As long as your custom settings are saved, it's no problem. Can you post your email menu screen shot? I can't think of anything else except maybe check the firmware for the Dvr and make sure it's up to date. But one more thing to see is the email menu.
  25. They can really help you in this instance, so definitely reach out to them. Best of luck.
