    samsung dvr smartviewer 2.0 HELLLLLP!

I recall during my initial setup from my DVR owners manual, there was mention of DNS entries into the router as well as "Port Range Forwarding" data, which if I remember, allows the offsite distant viewing of the DVR (from another computer, tablet or cell phone). Do you recall entering your static DNS numbers or the port forwarding data into your home router (or work)? For instance, access your router's Setup Menu. Look for fields labeled Static DNS (there may be 1-3 fields). The DNS number in your initial post, you listed it as DNS "168.126.63.1". This should be seen as the Static DNS number in the first (2) fields. Also be sure that "DHCP" is checked/selected, "Starting IP Address" should be "192.168.1.10". Now you will want to look for the Port Range Forwarding section within the Router. This may be found under applications or gaming within your Router Setup menus. Once you find it, you need to enter the following: Port Range Forward (there will be multiple fields, set up the first (2) exactly as outlined below): Port Range Field #1: Application = DVR Start = 8080 End = 8080 Protocol = Both IP Address = 192.168.0.200 Enable (this box should be checked) Port Range Field #2: Application = DVR1 Start = 554 End = 554 Protocol = Both IP Address = 192.168.0.200 Enable (this box should be checked) If having to update or enter the above into the router, test out to see if you get a live vid feed. If you do, it worked! NOTE: in your initial post, I see you use multiple UDP Port numbers (7900, 8000 and 8080). The most common is "8080". If after entering the above data into your Router and you still don't get a live feed, try changing all "UDP" or "Web Service Port" settings to one number, such as 8080. If "8000" is what you would rather use, then use it on all instead of 8080, etc... Retest for live vid feed. The RTSP or TSP "554" is correct, so I don't think the issue will be there, just check to make sure that is the same on all devices as well. All IP data, as well as the Port numbers (UDP and RTSP) need to be the same across all devices (ie: DVR setup fields, Router, as well as if you are using other viewing software on a PC or via an app for a smart phone). If there is a variation on one device (missing numbers, typo or completely different numbers), the devices can't talk to each other (out of sync) and therefore you won't be able to view the cameras via Device-X. I would also definitely get your Samsung DVR Model Number. Using the previous Samsung link I provided, from there, you can download the actual Owners Manual. This will have a great deal of info and may help you out more so than what I've posted. I think the above will help you, but the manual is best to have on hand for other tech info. Also be sure to check out this helpful link about Port Forwarding for viewing via cell phone, tablet or other: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=12156

There's a lot of Samsung DVR units out there... each configuration may vary slightly. Some use the Samsung Smartview software, while others may use the "websamsung" link to view the cameras. For instance, an older Samsung DVR, depending on model number may use the websamsung link like the one below so the camera owner can view his/her cameras online with X-Browser via a computer, smartphone or tablet: http://xxx.xxx.x.xxx:8080/html/live_samsung.htm (NOTE: "x's" would be your actual numeric IP address) If you were to copy & paste that link into a Browser (using YOUR IP address in place of the "x's AND providing your PORT is also 8080), once you hit enter, you should get a pop-up prompt that asks for User ID and Password. If you enter those correctly, then the next pop up should be the actual camera views, as well as configuration tabs, etc. Post up the model number or other details to your Samsung DVR, we can help better with more information. Are you trying to view the cameras from your PC, from a cell phone, or from another type of device (tablet, etc)? Is your router secure - meaning, for the wireless settings, do you have to enter indvidual MAC addresses into it for those devices to transmit through the router? If so, you may need to enter the MAC address from the DVR into the router. Here's the actual support link to all of the Samsung DVR's, it may be helpful to you: http://www.samsungsv.com/Support/Download
  3. Old thread, I know... But, just wanted to say THANK YOU for posting the info within (app for iPhone). I've been using the Samsung Smartviewer Mobile 1.0 for a couple of years on our iPhones (4 & 4S). When I purchased my wife her new iPad Mini this past Feb, and d/l'd the same Samsung SVM1.0 as a new install, it no longer works once it's downloaded. However, the same installed ap still works flawlessly on our phones (even after multiple iOS updates), but I believe it's because we d/l'd the working version way before some glitch has corrupted the one in the ap store. I d/l'd the app tonight that you had posted about (IP Cam Viewer Pro v1.8.3 for iOS) onto our iPads (2 and Mini), set up the parameters within the app exactly as you said - and those params work for our Samsung SDE3000N system! ***BINGO! It works perfectly on the iPads and looks great too, even with a much larger screen!! Also note, our SDE 3000N is still operating on it's original firmware as well and we've had the sytem up and running for the last 4 years now - so that Cam Viewer app does work well! Just another note: The Samsung "iPOLIS" app SUCKS.... it won't work for the SDE 3000N no matter how the app params are set up. I've also seen and read about many others complaining about this app as well, even those who have newer Samsung DVR setups. I'm just so glad I came across your thread and the app you have posted about. Big thanks (even though this thread has aged)! " title="Applause" /> " title="Applause" /> " title="Applause" />
  4. NOTE: This is Just an FYI, AS OF JULY 11th, 2011 and to present day July 15th 2011: I was not sure if this is the proper sub-forum to post it in, however, in the event you are a Samsung CCTV customer and have/or use remote viewing capabilities, the remote viewing server, commonly referred to as the "websamsung.net" server, is down. This has been confirmed via Samsung's CCTV Tech Dept and I figured I would pass this along to anyone who may be experiencing such remote login issues. You can ping the websamsung server via your DVR's Network Settings tab by going directly into the DVR (NOT by online remote access). Go to the Network Menu. The DVR's test feature ping's the "websamsung" server, and when that server is inop, the result will immediately come back as "FAIL". I did call Samsung today 07/15/11 - and spoke with their Tech Dept. Apparently the websamsung.net server which does link everyone to their remote view, has indeed CRASHED. The Tech guy said that it started going down sometime after July 4th and is completely inop as of now. They have their Engineering Dept. working the issue to get everyone back online, however, he said the websamsung remote view server may not be back up and running until sometime next week at the latest. IF you need to get ahold of anyone at Samsung for tech difficulties or remote view access issue with a DIY Samsung DVR system, here's some helpful info for future reference: Samsung CCTV Customer Service #: 1-877-349-3149 Samsung CCTV Tech email: DGTECHDIY@GMAIL.COM I also thought I would pass along this little tidbit of info for those of you who need to remote view your systems, but cannot due to the server crash: Using Learner2011's approach - in this below thread link from this site (his post is the 7th one down from the top), I'm able to remote view my system from my smartphone (iPhone 4) and also any outside computer platform without any issues at all, even when Samsung's websamsung.net server is down. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=22867 Phil
  5. Instead of creating a totally new thread - I figured it may be best to "bump" this one, after I had found it during a search due to some minor issues I was experiencing w/ my Samsung SDE3000N (same as SDE-120, etc). The past week, starting around or on July 11, 2011, I could not view my system via Remote Web Viewer (or the commonly known "websamsung.net" address). I could view the system while at home, but could not view it at all from any outside remote view when away from my primary location, regardless if via multiple smartphones or multiple other computer platforms (MAC or PC). I then checked all of my WRT54G's settings, all of my SDE's network settings via the DVR and then did a "test" via the Network settings within the DVR menu (this is not available through the remote Set Up menu). The test was to ping the "websamsung" server - it immediately came back as "FAIL". Therefore, I knew at that moment that the problem was truly the websamsung server being completely inop. I had performed an internet search via google with the term "websamsung down" and came across this thread (great relief & VERY helpful). After reading the info here, posted by both "wbathome" and "Learner2011", I tried both methods of bypassing the websamsung server and using either the direct IP address route AND/OR the dyndns.org setup - and each worked perfectly! Personally, I like Learner2011's approach, only because it was just a simple and direct link by just merely inputting the IP addy into the search field of your browser and hitting enter - BINGO, I'm back to being able to review my system remotely! Now - for those that do not know, who may be experiencing remote viewing issues with any Samsung DVR system - I did call Samsung today 07/15/11 - and spoke with their Tech Dept. Apparently the server which does link everyone to their remote view, has indeed CRASHED. The Tech guy said that it started going down sometime after July 4th and is completely inop as of now. They have their engineering Dept. working the issue to get everyone back online, however, he said the websamsung remote view server may not be back up and running until sometime next week at the latest. Thanks for a great forum and the helpful tech fellas! Phil
