  7. dear all; I got quite challenging project, the project require us to mount cameras on a 18 meter high tower, the tower is design for lightning arrestor with the main grounding conductor lay inside the tower. I am very concern about this setup for the camera got fried as its too close to conductor Any ideas what shall we do to minimize the chance of camera getting fried Thanks
  8. dear soundy, your picture tell thousand words, thanks christopher, thank you for your concern, the cameras are to be mounted at around 5 meter below the lightning rod, the lightning rod will connect to ground with heavy copper wires

  10. Hi everyone; The DVR is not from HIK, but from its competitor it can record all channels in D1 but not in realtime, I set mine to 6fps and turn out still very smooth and very good recording quality.
  11. Hi Chris It crash on 8.3.0 version software and 8.3.1 software, it only crash during playback windows will warn "dvr.exe has error", only by re-booting the PC the application will work again, so far it works fine with CIF @ 25 fps ..

Dear all; I have installed 1416 into a Core 2 Duo E7500/ P31 based Mainboard with 2GB RAM when I configure it to D1 6fps - 16 cameras, the system always crash during playback does anyone got idea what has happened ? Anyone ever got this system run stable with D1 resolution ?? Kindly share your experience
  13. BL series cards are software compression cards. it come with PCI-Express expansion card format the software can support recording up to D1
  14. I have tried both cards, both perform as it should at that prices, BL card is the newer cards, it come with PCI-E interface, with ability to record up to D1, I personally prefer BL card to ETHE card.

    MPEG 4 or H.264 DVR

    if your requirement does not include remote view via low bandwidth network (i.e ADSL) and your installation is only limit to 16 cameras, MPEG4 will be a better choice for the price, and don't worry about hard disk space they are cheap to buy.
  16. Have you try using ATI Graphic Card ? Usually their software work better with ATI Card
