  1. So alot of the DVRs seem to use proprietary ActiveX plugins, which means that only work in IE... or perhaps only on the PC and not on the Mac. I'm currently using the TRENDnet ProView series of IP Cameras, which also work similarly, but I'm able to access the URL to the MPEG stream directly. Which means I can bypass the whole TRENDnet web UI and access the video just fine on any browser. Also for pan/tilt it uses a simple HTML POST, so I've written my own custom web page which can control the cameras via AJAX and whatnot. Can anybody recommend a DVR that would work similarly?
