    Geovision GV 800V3 system freezing

Since your problems started right after you've burned some video footage, it might be that you've filled up the OS partition with video files which were not deleted from there after burning. Shortly, make sure you have enough free space on this drive. An other option is your Geforce card. Try disabling all Direct3D/DirectX accelerations through Dispaly Settings -->Advanced-->Troubleshoot. You'll get a lower quality image, but if the system works fine this way, then the problem lies with the video card. Replace it with an ATI.
  2. If I remember right on the Kodicom card you have a blue plastic cube with a screw on it's side. It's a potentiometer for electrically adjusting the capture sensitivity. Try playing with this screw while watching the video and see if it solves your problem. Be careful with screw driver...

  21. Don't waste your time on trying other software to work with your card. Either use the software bundled with it, or buy another card that has the functions you need. My advice...

    removable harddrive dvr system

You can do it with almost any cheap dvr which is based on vineyard chipset (most low-end) and has a removable HDD Rack. You'll need a USB to IDE adaptor, and the software from Vineyard. This is actually the old method of archiving to a PC. USB to IDE Adaptor: http://www.pcbee.co.kr/contents/news/na/34436.jsp http://www.ezguide.co.kr/auto_page/01050600/6931.html One Vineyard based dvr: http://www.infinitycctv.com/docs/products/standalonedvr/?id=sdvr-4120 I have the software if you need it.

    G4-4000 or AVR-400

Great unit, I just hate the noise of the cheap fan. But most embedded dvr's in this range has the same problem. The SDVR-4500 from Nadatel (MPEG4) is fanless, but it lacks the IE browser support, software is required for remote monitoring, and the max speed of ffw is X4 compared to X64 on the AVR-400. Don't know who sells them in the US though. It's a new product.
