  1. I think I have the oposit to you. I'm running two PT&Z from a RS485 controller and now want to add an American Dynamics PT&Z which runs from a RS422. I've tried most combinations of wiring up but can't get the RS485 controller to operate the new camera. Any suggestions as tou your solution might help. Brian
  2. I have a system around my house and the PT&Z cameras are controlled via an RS-485 contoller and all is well. I purchased a Sensornet Dome PT&Z and it appears to need an RS-422 controller. I've tried variations of wiring it up on the bench to my 485 but can't get it to move at all. The only protocol that is on my existing controller that will match up to the sensornet camera is Pelco p, but even this fails to move it. Any suggestions welcome please? Brian briandudhill@aol.com
  3. Well, I'm back from a long trip to India now and am getting stuck into all the suggestions you've kindly sent me to try. I'll let you know how I get on but if you can think of anything else I might try in the meantime, I'd be greatful if you'd let me know. It's a Sensormatic pt & z and it says it needs a SensorNet 485, RS-422 or Manchester or UTC controller and the controller I'm using on my existing system is RS-485. Thanks again. Brian
  4. Hi everyone. As a radio ham (G4NMP) I've always been interested in electronics but recently turned my interests to CCTV and just picked up what I think is a Sensormatic Ultra VII day/night camera in a dome housing. The speed domes I use on my house are operated using a RS-485 controller and my new Sensormatic seems to be only RS-422. Would it be possible to operate my new Sensormatic on my existing controller? If I have to get a different controller will I still be able to run my existing PT&Z cameras which are RS-485? Looking inside the new dome there is a 6 way socket marked R+, R-, --- T+, T-, --- these are wired up. Then the last 2 marking are S+, S-, one side of the 6 way connector has a yellow/white wire and a white/orange wire but at the other side of the connector has no wires going in at these points. I wondered if anyone has any information I could maybe download or could possibly send me (I'll pay of course). Any help appreciated. Brian Rotherham
