  1. Hey folks, just wanting to know whether the 4 PoE ports on this model and the 8ch and 16ch model. Are they just a switch or a router built in to the NVR unit?
  2. Hi folks, I have few Dahua IPC-HFW2100 cameras. I have setup motion detection email on them. I seem to get this 1 email every time someone shows up in front of camera but there are no attachments attached with the email. Under Camera then Video then Snapshot, I have 'event' selected. Although every time I close the browser (IE or Firefox) or even go to another menu and come back to this menu, it always shows 'General' instead of 'Event' Have the SMTP email setup correctly as well as I can send/receive emails and attachments box is ticked. Have motion detection enabled along with ticks on Send Email and Snapshot. I even updated the firmware but still same issue. Anyone else had/have this issue? Sounds like a firmware issue?
  3. Hey, I am trying to change the view type of Dahua cameras displayed on a monitor connected to a NVR. I want the cameras to show in the position on the monitor to my liking but cannot find any setting as such on the Dahua NVR. Right now the cameras are showing up on the screen randomly starting from left of the monitor to the right. I would like to move the camera numbers/view around. Help please..
  4. Try your ISP mail SMTP server settings. I setup email alerts in 3200C dome model couple of days ago and both outlook.com and gmail smtp ports were blocked by my ISP. soon as i changed to my ISP's email server, it worked!
  5. If you buy the Dahua cameras from a reputable supplier, then you don't have anything to worry about in terms of support or warranty. Nellysurplus and Empiresecurity have been around for a while, haven't they?
  6. Could just setup FTP on the Dahua camera's to point to QNAP NAS for photos and videos.
  7. login into your router, go to port forwarding section and delete the IP address entry of your DVR from there and save the settings on the modem.

    NVR Manuals

http://www.dahuasecurity.com/download/DH-NVR3204%203204%203216.pdf edit - above is just a spec sheets. guess you will have to wait for box to arrive with the manual.
  9. Which distributor did you buy these off from?
  10. I was watching an official dahua made video regarding this NVR and he casually mentioned it as a switch only. Dahua's own documentation also labels it as a switch. I am going to bite the bullet very soon and will confirm whether or not it is. So much cheaper for me to buy the PoE version than the non PoE version. Less gear to keep too.
  11. Damn. 2 different answers. I hope it's a switch only. @buellwinkle are you 100% positive of this being a router and not a switch? If it's a router, are there options such as 'turn off dhcp' etc so that it does not broadcasts it's own IP range and uses that of of the modem/router it's connected to instead.

    Dahua/Qvis possible harddrive errors?

Thanks rory. Is there is a full list of HDD that Dahua recommends for their DVR's for brands other than Samsung?

    Dahua/Qvis possible harddrive errors?

I too have the same issue with my Qvis Zeus 8CH DVR. Only set it up last week with 1TB Samsung F3 HDD and it showed 'slight' under HDD health. I today formatted it using the built in DVR software and it's showing normal now but I wonder for how long. Something to worry about?

    CCTV camera recommendations

Hi folks. I am looking at getting 4 x indoor colour with IR (for night time recording with no external light available) cameras. Looking at the KT&C brand. I need them to be PAL. http://www.123securityproducts.com/products/cameras/cctv-cameras/dome-cameras.html?cctv_cs_cam_signal_format=2595&manufacturer=16 ^ The above website lists cameras 'Signal Format' under NTSC/PAL. Does that mean that those cameras listed will accept both NTSC and PAL signal? If so, they will then work in NZ with my PAL DVR unit? Can anyone please recommend me 4 KT&C cameras from the above link that are good. Looking at staying under the $200 mark/camera. Also will the above KT&C cameras from the list also comes with power cable connector and video connector list displayed in the picture below? http://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Security-Camera-System-Surveillance/dp/B002WGQJPA/ref=sr_1_7?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1325801316&sr=1-7 Edit - Also don't mind bullet cameras from KT&C as long as they are good and if they are better than Dome cameras. If so, can someone please recommend a model from the below list. The cameras will be placed at a bit of height inside the shop so no one will be able to tinker with it. http://www.123securityproducts.com/products/cameras/cctv-cameras/bullet-cameras.html?manufacturer=16&cctv_cs_cam_signal_format=2595 Regards

    CCTV camera recommendations

    anyone?
  17. Hello from New Zealand. I am looking for a 8CH DVR setup for my liquor shop. I have been reading up cctv forums and looks like dahua DVR's are good value for money. One of the recommendations is Quic Zeus 8 model. Is the below model good? I don't need HDMI or audio output in the DVR. If the above is good, can someone please kindly tell me whether the supplied PSU with the above DVR will accept 240V input? I am looking at buying it without the HDD and installing it myself when it arrives here unless someone can someone can tell me why I should buy it with the HDD? Also I need 4 decent security cameras to go with this. Any suggestions including what cables and PSU I will need to go with those cameras. Regards techwhizard edit - also need to make sure that NZ is PAL, so will the above DVR work with a PAL tv?
  18. I will. Thanks. More suggestions welcome. Also I need 4 decent cameras to go with into the DVR system with PSU and cabling for it. Any suggestions on which camera to for? All will be installed indoors.
