  1. Thanks for the reply a little while back I contacted my place of purchase, they are out of warranty but did offer to fix / have a look at them but I do not any down time with out the cameras ( sending them back to cctv discover.com in china) you say the foam may be breaking down, where could I buy replacement foam from I might give that a try, as for the roof overhang its about 200mm but the cameras are pointed right down away from that as it is a double story home
  2. My IR at nite time is terrible, so Ive been told and from what I have looked up in this forum im getting IR bounce back off of the dome of the camera. "This can generally be corrected by making sure the isolation ring around the lens of the camera is seated properly to the inside of the glass globe" I took off the cover and pulled the rubber ring out some more and played around with it, but the IR is still just as bad what am I doing wrong and is there a "correct way" to do this ? mike.

  6. Hey guys I can not work this one out has any one experienced this ? Every thing worked fine with remote view iphone / my galaxy tab isp changed ip, so I did what needed to be done. now... 3 of the 8 cams, come up with a black screen with the time, date and cam name but no picture further more you can use the ptz controls on the app to move the cam and you can see it moving on the tv whilst the app just has the black screen I have tried 4 different apps so far both iphone and tablet both on home net work and 3g oh also happens in ie too! mike.

    rg59 siamese rot ! Help

Since this is your own property, you may be able to afford such expensive cable, it would definitely be worth it. In the commercial world however there isn't enough margin left to blow it all on expensive cable. I still feel that Cat5e outdoor cable with passive baluns will do you better. If you want to use Cat5e outdoor cable until the cable enters the property, you can then get an IDC junction box and switch to standard solid core Cat5e which is easier to work with and a lot more economic. If you don't have an IDC punchdown tool you can get plastic disposable ones for about $1 or less. The one below will also strip the outer jacket of Cat5 without nicking the inner cores. One more thing buy some wire end ferrules and use then when connecting into the baluns at each end they will improve the connection (24awg) thanks for the advice but its too late now the house is built ! at that stage I did have over 150m left of cat6 from when I was doing the data. still being new to this I was unaware of passive baluns and their use.

  13. Hey guys I have a DAHUA 8 channel DH-DVR0804HF-A Dvr and a newly purchased Western Digital WD Black 2TB WD2002FAEX I set the hard drive up in the Dvr no problem, then the dvr stayed in its box for 2 months before I moved in to my new place. Final test run last night and the DVR keeps beeping telling me I have no hard disk, so I removed it hooked it up to my pc checked it formatted it every thing working ok. Hooked it up to my DVR again same problem, no hard disk error ???? Can some one offer any advice ? thanks mike.

    Spy mics and pre amps

hi yes they both have pre amps (power gives it away) both the same in your links except the bottom one is for 10. so thats a $1 a mic. i would pay a bit more than that. is this for a customer or for yourself ? Its for my self, and yes I agree $1 a mic does seem too cheap, and recommendations from you guys where I can pick up some small yet mid quality mics, that will ship to Australia ?
  22. hey guys is there any difference from from a spy mic with pre amp such as: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/350512529076?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 to just your regular spy mic ? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/150727557853?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Im after about 4, and they look the same to me, but I like the idea of a pre amp mike.
