Just tried my mates spectra 4 in my housing and it has been running a pattern all day with no problems So it looks like my spectra3 has dome has a problem

HI a friend has just got one of these ptz cameras im going to help him fit it it says network camera (what does this mean and what can it do) we have never had a network camera as we just conect the dvr to the net and do remote viewing also what settings do the dip switches need to be on he has only 1 ptz so i put switch 1 number 1 onto on for address 1 but not sure what the other switch 2 should be at we are using coax for video and 1 twisted pair for rs485 conected to the dvr thanks

The qvis shotgun cable has got some shielding in the centre And this is made for cctv Is there a difference with the qvis cable Cheers

Hi Yes there is a fan and heater My camera is 24vac not 12 v Can I run 12 v dc on it also can the fan and heater be turned off. I had it running a pattern tonight and it didn't go for an hour It got stuck to the right and went 1 inch to the left and back again to the right over and over then after a while it went up in the air again going very slowly to the left in some kind of its own pattern When I moved the joystick it wouldn't go up any more as it was at the end of travel So I moved down and it did a 180 spin then it would move up again I have set another pattern tonight just left and right stopping at intervals without using the zoom and its running ok It will run for constant on a scan left to right without problems And has been doing so for months It's only when I do a pattern with zoom in it that it losers the pattern Anything els to try Thsnks

hi im new to cctv yesterday (but did lots of reading last night about entering protocol settings and board rate and adress e.c.t a friend of mine has an apollo lite 8 and a keyboard joypad controller this on below http://cnfulicom.en.made-in-china.com/product/moqEbQRUJKVM/China-PTZ-Keyboard-Controller-FC-KB802B-.html there are 4 cameras 2 are ptz ones 001 and 002 all 4 cameras show the display outside perfect but 1 of the ptz cameras 002 doesnt move with the keyboard controller and on the display monitor it has lots of writing on the screen like the protocol adress and board rate e.c.t the ptz camera has displayed this since they had a power cut and to make things worse the wires fron the keyboard controller got riped out i read about the RS485 and got the info that it uses 2 wires to the RS485 + and - on the keyboard controller there were 3 wires that had the coating stripped off yellow blue and white i got the 001 camera to work by conecting the blue and yellow and left the white wire out (not sure if it has to do with the problem with the 002 camera not moving) i have read about inputing the protocol settings and adress and board rate e.c.t and managed to get 001 camera working ok but not 002 any help please

hi how would i put a ptz camera onto an adata dvr with no rs485 conector on the back its only got an rs232 conector cheers

they are all newer with the green plugs with the rs485 on cheers

hi mate its dust not rust it has the ptz software and its definatly an adata apollo lite dvr cheers

hi just noticed now i have it with me it says rs485 alarm looks like it has rs485 but not sure how to conect the 2 wires from the ptz cheers

hi ive got a couple of these cameras and have a few questions adout the one that is ok first my keyboard controller is one of these http://www.adata.co.uk/Catalogue/ANALOG-CAMERAS/PROFESSIONAL-CAMERAS/PTZ-CAMERAS/PTZ-ACCESSORIES/Black-Keyboard-Controller-for-G3-PTZs-G3LITEKEYBOARD-SF and there is slight differences to get into the camera menu e.c.t pelco instructions say press 95 then preset i have to press set then 95 then preset also lots of other diferences when in the settings,not sure what i can do about this also when i try to programe a scan (zones)from left to right pan i set the left and then set the right when i run the scan it doesnt go to the left fully that i programed and then will go to the right i programed ,then will go round to the right again (onto my house bricks)to my left limit i programed am i doing somthing wrong is the (zones) left and right suposed to pan fron left to right hope you can understand its kind of hard to explain cheers

hi survtech ive just set the left and right scan stops and then set up left and right limit it now scans from left to right and stops for a second inbetween the left and right scan for 2 or 3 times this is a lot better thanks for the instructions your a star

hi thanks again for the reply i have used qvis ptz cameras before and to access the menu you pressed preset then 95 and then you could use the joypad to scroll through the menues and even move joypad to the right to enter the sub menu with my pelco spectra you can move the joypad up or down in the menu but cant move to the right to get into that particular menu,you have to press open im getting used to it now i managed to get the camera to stop at the left and right limit with scan limit stops but im not sure if zones is a smooth scan from left and right like the qvis ptz i have used the pelco seems to ramdomly stop inbetween the left and right limit instead of a smooth left and right continuas movement i set a patteren up as this is same as the qvis i just need to find out how to get the camera to go from 1 stored preset to the other preset now thanks for all your help

hi survtech your right i think the stock default settings are as good as its going to get its was one of my Pelco DD53CBW i did notice that the picture got less grainyer with lowering the agc but then i got very bad motion blur thanks for the reply

hi i have 2 street light across from my house aprox 60 70 foot away is there any settings i can change to improve the picture at night ive tryed to change the AGC LIMIT from 29 to 0 and it makes it a lot better but cant see anything that moves with the motion blur is there anything els i can try thanks

thanks mate will do the wheel on the leg where the belt goes around has cracked all the way through when i looked closely thanks for your help and the part numbers

a massive thankyou for your help yes its the tilt belt ill have a good look at the base and tilt leg for cracks thankyou very much just checked and its cracked on the bit that is attached to the camera side the plastic with 2 small screws on that go into the camera

hi mate thanks for the quick reply i also noticed the camera wasnt centered as though it had come away at one end ill give it another go at opening it up when i get the belt back on does it matter that the camera isnt in the same position where it was when the belt came off so it wont bind and go behond the limits? e.c.t if you get what i mean say if it is at full upward travel then the belt comes off and then i put it back on and the camera is at the bottom of travel wont it bind when the camera goes to the bottom or doesnt it matter cheers

hi thanks again for your fast reply i had a 10x symphony ptz and wasnt impressed with it essecialy at night absalute rubbish i didnt want to buy second hand and it not be compatable cheeers
