hi yes it has 485 thanks for the reply im after a ptz camera been looking on ebay but not much on at the moment in my area is there any ptz cameras to stay away from that dont have rs485 that wont work with my qvis apollo hd dvr thanks

hi mate everything works (wan) away from the lan its just whilst at the lan on the ipod touch and iphone mainly when using the host name whilst conected wirelessly to the lan it wont work but will work away from the lan but on other routers its ok at the lan with the host name i have set up home and away on the idmss software on ipod for now cheers

hi when i put my wan ip address into my web browser it opens my routers login page and idea's i can log onto the dvr localy its a qvis dvr ive done a few succesfully now ive assinged the dvr an ip address on the lan port forwarded the correct ports and checked with canyouseeme.org im also using no-ip.com as the ip isnt static for a free dns acount any idea's

hi its was from the lan but i have done this many times and it worked without coming up with the router login screen if i put the iphone software on the iphone with the dns acount name it wont work from the wireless lan and i dont want to change the ip and dns name everytime i go out cheers

hi ive installed 3 of these now and dont know exactly what ports should be forwarded on the router i open 37777 tcp and udp and 80 tcp and udp i also read somewhere to open port 37778 but cant find where it was i read it now which ports need to be opened and tcp or udp or both then i know what to open and not what to open next time thanks

hi i installed a maplin n09jj dvr yesterday for a mate of mine he hasnt got a static ip address so i set him a DDNS no-ip account up for him im not sure what went wrong but ill try to explain first i opened ports 6001 6002 6003 and 8080 on his huawei echolife hg520s router, and forwarded them to his dvr ip address i set 192.168.x.xx i couldnt open port 80 as the router gave a message saying it would open 8080 instead (not sure exact message) so i changed the http port on the dvr from 80 to 8080 then i went into the dvr ddns settings these were the options enable ddns = enable (was disabled) ddns server = http://www.no-ip.com device domain name = http://www.dynamicupdate-no-ip.com ddns user = my friends no ip user name ddns password = my friends no ip password when i put his noip host name e.g (mymatesdvr.zapto.org) it opens the login screen for his huawei router (admin admin) i dont know why or how it can do this even if i choose static ip in the dvr instead of DDNS it still goes to his router login screen when i put his WAN ip adress in has it got anything to do with the port 8080 as i have only used port 80 on the qvis dvr's any idea's thanks

thanks tom we had to return the dvr as the dvr was frezing and locking up every 2 houres or so we got a differend model but still a sentient dvr this one isnt much better either we can get iphone app working but cant log on on with his lan i opened all the ports requred and checked they were open with canyouseeme.org the dvr ip adress we assigned to the dvr was all correct we cant get the web software working either it opens up and when we try to log in it says failed the password is still 888888 and user is admin or Admin think we are going to get a refund and get a qvis apollo

hi thanks for the reply just found some info if not using port 80 with no-ip.com there is a Port 80 Redirect option for service providers that block port 80 cheers

hi mate i have forwarded the ports to the dvr ip adrress i have forwarded port 8080 and it asks for ip adress and i have put the dvr one in when using port 8080 and a ddns account do you have to use colon and 8080 at the end cheers

sorted it now

sorted the pixels it was the tv i put the ptz on another tv and it was clear still got the problem with the zoom it must be how they are its a bit poor if you cant fully zoom in without loosing the object as the camera picture goes too low

hi mate its not digital as its turned off in the menu it gets a lot worse on digital zoom

hi i have just got 2 bar lighting transformers with 6 24v outlets the specs are output 24vac 4a 96va can i use these for powering cctv cameras that use 24v ac ? also if a camera says 12v dc can some of them use 24v ac cheers

thanks for the reply i didnt know they are saved in the ptz the instructions for the ptz are assuming you are using a keyboard controller ill have a read of the instructions to see if i can figure it out with out the keyboard thanks again

hi how many ptz patterns can you programe on the apollo dvr as when we try to programe a pattern on no 2 it overwrites pattern no 1 we set earlyer also we cant set scan it wont highlight when we try to go to it thanks
