That seems like an odd request. You'll have to contact the store to find out. Different stores / companies may have different policies on the length of time to keep videos.

So, microsoft has some good views... I couldn't believe how detailed they were on my house in the middle of no where... lol. Pretty much everywhere is scanned in detail. Good for people who are on here asking diy questions regarding coverage etc.... Just use "Paint" to paint over the city in the upper left and you should have any issues posting a pic for reference. Example... Heres my home with property line in red... 7/10 of an Acre. As you can see, its alot for being downtown a mile from the city square. Residing in the Historical Society district. click pic for larger version go to bing . com and click maps, then enter your address, then scroll all the way in zooming. The hit Birds Eye view, after that zoom in some more.... then rotate around your house and their all detailed... Also Unclick "Show labels" I'm using this when I go into my City counsel to get a fence approved for building in my back yard... Anyway, I thought this might help. I have no issue posting my house... you won't find it... lol If you do.... Ok so what? lol Thousands drive by every day. Plus I got nothing worth anything inside... which making having CCTV even better

Hope this thread is ok. Since Im a active member and still enjoying the forum. Anyway, Was talking with someone and they mentioned that I should start an online Security business selling cameras, equipment etc.... I love security stuff, and have my own system of course being a member here... Just not sure, feel like there are already tons of other websites. Though I feel I could provide an edge others dont have. Anyway, This is just random thoughts.... Who knows. Anyone else here ever wanted to? When i'm not working fulltime as a firefighter I have my own photography business. But with technology, cell phones and the Huge increase in cheap powerful cameras I'm just not thinking I'm going to be able to do this. Im mean, Ive done weddings, and everything else. But idk.... Anyway, Just my random thought for the day.

I'm not actually going to make a site. Its just ideas. I have prolly 30 other ideas for business so its just talk fyi. I mean, I wouldnt mind. I'd actually love it. But working Full time, (48-72hrs a week) picking up another job (Lowes I hope) and I also work for a 2nd fire dept part time. (id be leaving for lowes) so I stay kinda busy. O yeah doesnt include my photography business which is slow... because I just can't advertise. No money for it. Ugh. lol But yeah. I really don't see it happening. If I actually made a diy site, I couldn't do packages. Pretty much plain and simple. At least not for so cheap. those prices were crap on ebay.... Gah Id love to do it though....

Would (2) 8 Chan DVrs be better than one 16chan? That same website has a 16Ch that records Real D1 on all 16ch at 7.5 fps. Which, rly 7.5 should be enough for Home System.... Woops! lol ^^ Yeah, The more I thought about it, I would want a DIY Security site. Focused on equipment and stuff for the DIY. If I could put together a package, Yeah it might be a shot. But idk. I mean, The system I have, (4) 420tvl, dvr and screen sells for $600-900. When the cameras cost like $24... I mean Before I knew anything about Security I thought had a good setup. ( Lucky I payed WAY less, got a hook up ) But, I would think for $600 I could put together a 4 cam setup, 600 tvl. and a dvr for $400. But that leaves me with $200 profit. If it sold enough I guess it would be worth it.... But I think the site would be as much educational as it would be supply of items... Which, Maybe is a different type of site than what is out there now. Edit: As a quick package: (4) 600 TVL 3.6MM Dome Indoor/Outdoor 12LED Cameras 8Ch DVR H.264 120FPS recording Internet etc..... Wiring incld... That package cost about $300... Add $200. $500.... With that being absolute base... I mean, It'd def a much better system than I have now and cost the same.... But of course none of it's Brand Name per say.... so eh.

Wow... Where do you live? State or city/ even in this US? Glad my area isn't that bad. I did have a punk walking a pit bull stake out my house. Walked around it. Cameras werent set up properly to capture it worth anything. My cameras are prolly 10-15ft. But My house is just tall... with 9ft ceilings and hen it elevated a few feet off the ground...

Mind you, This was just a thought. But Ultimate goal? To be able to provide Good to High End Security Products for personal and commercial customers whith excellent customer service. I do want to provide some level of service, Education beforehand in making a formative decision in purchasing a Security System. Theres SO much crap... Which is why we have forums to help learn.... Pre/post sales. Yes, Videos in aiding the purchase of their fitted security system. post, Videos aiding in DIY installs, I have a friend who is a licensed electrician and alrdy installs/sells security systems/cameras. (his own company) I could partner with him for Installation. Hes approved) I dont yet, Of course. Because like I said its just a thought. But Yes, I would. And another thing would be, Every Product/Camera would have a Video sample of a "Test Session" (also a review)

Ok thanks for the info. I'll have to double check, but I think they have a feature that I wanted. Which was, It darkens the bright areas, and lightens the dark areas. I have Big Shadow Issues at my house. So it would help alot to have that feature, Among others of course. But see, If its not worth it. I might as well pick up these $20 420tvl cameras and have a bunch of em vs the 4.... lol, I know this is all stuff that comes from a newbie. I just hate having such a low budget of 600....

Hello! I'm in Middle TN, I work for my city as a Full Time Firefighter. I'm also a Photographer. I'm blessed to have been able to purchase an older home with character inside our local Historical District Society. It being my first home also. I've lived there for about 8 months. I've always been into security. So I was lucky and came across a system and purchased it. It covers my Home (Main flr 2,600 sq ft. Not incl. full basement) My land is 7/10 of a full acre.... So it's not too small. Granite, It's (vid system) not super nice, But I think we can all agree something is better than nothing. Current Setup: Netrome Security BlackBox 8 Chan. 4 Camera It has already Payed off twice. Here is a screen shot of the front yard/porch So, As you can see it's the typical entry system. I like it, But being a technical detail nerd I burn for better and more. So, I have a couple choices. With a budget of about $600 (Includes selling old system) I can either build my own system, get the same basic cameras only have more... like 8. Get a better DVR and call it a day for now. But... What I Really Really want to do is go ahead and really upgrade. To a IP MP system. NIP 1MP Cameras... 720P HD resolution... Problem is it's not cheap. I can get the cameras for about $150 a pop... That's my $600 budget right there on cameras. Or, Buy two and a nice dvr for now and every few weeks purchase another camera.... I would like 8 1MP 720P Cameras total..... Depending on the dvr maybe add a few lower quality cameras to the system. So, That's my dilemma... Hello and glad to be here!! lol

No, My question is: If I buy 700 tvl cameras, Will I actually get 700tvl? Or would it be a waste of time, The link I provided says it doesnt matter. the camera may put out 700 tvl.... but ittl still be like 480 when it gets to the dvr... Thanks for all the replies. Let's open this up and extend it! So, I have The cameras... I have the dog... I have the Security System wired up Almost. (Getting that finished soon) I have the Motion Lights outside, I have the Security System Signs, I WILL have the Video Security Signs.... So.... How about these Stickers.... I know a few people personally who have them on every door and window. I've seen the yard sign, But I wont be getting that. This is TN. You can't throw a rock without hitting two things.... A Church or a Gun Store. And Yes... I am Armed. My Next Door neighbor installed one of those Large Yard Security Lights from the Power company. So the back yards are always lit up. She was worried I wouldn't be ok with the light at night. I ensured her I was pleased, Saves me money! and it lights up our back yards and the space between our yards. (Not too much of my back yardf, but some)

I know someone else already said it, But I'll re say it. If you are able to hang a flower pot, Outside the window... Cut/drill a hole the size of the lens and stick the camera in the flower pot. Sure, you'll have a wire going to the flower pot, but you could run it along the wire hanger.... And yeah, You would be surprised. I thought my bullet cameras, size of half a brick but no one see them. Even when their infront of someones face. And to the other guy who posted those pics. Why don't you get some paint and paint them the same color as the brick? Some brick color paint would really make them less noticeable.
