  1. Both of the cameras are CNB-Vf cameras. the one shot of the front porch is clear and if you notice around the fence line the black area isn't grainy. The one at the back door is always grainy and not that clear. Both cameras have 24 volts. Both cameras are about 22 foot away from the DVR. I installed both floods light the same distance on each camera and both light have the same wattage. One of the problems I am having is when I adjust it on the laptop or Ipad it looks fairly clear. When I view it on the TV it doesn't look as clear. This thing of going up and down a latter to adjust the focus..ect..ect is getting old for this old fart

  2. Well I talked with someone in there Canada office and nobody in there could speak English very well and none of them understood English. I gave up...lol. As far as that company is concerned if you Google them they have a pretty good write up from just about every customer.

  3. Here is the adress they to;d me to ship it to>>> David Liu

hey_moe. if you are sending it back to china please use a good service like fedex or ups and signed for. the last thing you want is them saying its lost

but if they have a office in canada ..... (which may not be true) post there details its not hard to check

  4. Sorry but I can't understand code here...lol I decided to package it up and ship the whole product back. I tried calling there Canada office but the guy there I could hardly understand him. His English was terrible. He couldn't understand me and I couldn't understand him. It will be 40 to 60 bucks to ship this back, I guess I learned a expensive lesson here. I ordered another CBN camera and it should be here Thursday. It will be taking the place of the PTZ for now.

    ^^, x2

  5. After getting the run around the guy I brought the PTZ camera from has agreed to either replace, repair or refund my money back. This was only after I threaten to file fraud charges with Ebay and PayPal. Towards the end he tried to blame me for the problem which really pressed my button. I like being fair because I know in retail you loose all profit on a refund. I was thinking of just sending it back for a replacement. This camera has given me problems from get go one. What do you guys think. BTW, I am a HVAC service tech for 38 years and I see this mess all the time with new part failure. So it doesn't matter where you buy from in this day and time.

  6. Well today I recieved the replacement camera after I deposited another 100.00 in their account and also had to pay shipping to ship the old one back. Keep in mind they just shipped a replacement camera not the whole PTZ. Hooked it up and still have the blue screen...lol. I checked the cable coming to the PTZ with another camers using their PS and have a picture. I also cked all sws to make sure they were set right. In the back of the camera their is a red light that is not lit up like the last one but they felt the camera was the problem so that is what they shipped. I feel the motherboard was bad but I am just a dumb old fart so my say so is poo poo. Even after I told them I have no power coming from the MB to the camera they still said the camera was bad. I am starting to get a tad bit PO and as much as I hate to do this I am going to wait and see what their response is before filing a complaint with PP and EB. This will be the last time I piss on myself with Ebay. What a bunch of CRAP! I just ordered another camera for a replacement. ( Not form China or Ebay )The other one still sits under my desk collecting dust.

  7. Well so far those CNB cameras are the best for me for day time and night time. When I had the PTZ working it was nice to be able to move it around and put it where ya wanted it. The night views aren't that good for that camera. I am thinking of ordering another CNB camera and installing the PTZ on the second floor and hooking it direct to my TV. hooking the new CNB camera where the PTZ use to be. I should get the PTZ camera in this week or the first of next week. I asked da wife would she mind if I installed one in her shower...her response was her middle finger and I can't print what her statement was ...he..he..he...Mike

  8. It's from Hong Kong...lol. 14 day full money back, after that a 1year warranty, repair or replacement only.Like I said before, I only have myself to blame. I read to many threads in here warning other members about buying from EBay. You know how us guys are....very hard headed....and I got the hardest one.

I will ship you back the defected camera, you can do what ever you do and then ship me a replacement.

i would not ship anything just yet. just follow the steps on getting your money back.

did it come from your country or china ???

  9. After they emailed me what they wanted me to check out they finally said just the camera inside the PTZ was bad. I feel this was shorting out from the start because when I first installed it my DVR kept rebooting, but it stopped doing that after an hour or so.I feel it was sub-feeding power through the coxial cable. You going love this part>>> what they want me to do is deposit another 100.00 in their account. When they get the camera back and check it out if the feel it is a factory problem they will send me a replacement, if not they will keep the money I guess and send me a replacement. I said I have no intention what so ever of depositing another hundred dollars in your account. I will ship you back the defected camera, you can do what ever you do and then ship me a replacement. This is starting to really get under my skin now.

Mike, very glad to hear Sean is helping you.

Much like DVR's, this is one thing you dont want to scrimp on, paying an extra 100-200 will go a long ways.

The one I got is not cheap...in dollars. Whether that equals quality remains to be seen.

I like when the PTZ lens is behind a smoked dome... This way no one will know where its pointed...

Can you imagine what your neighbors will think about you you when they see a ptz looking around the neighborhood?

The houses here are set fairly far apart. This camera won't look like much from the street. I doubt many will notice it. I hear you about the smoked dome, but IR and domes don't go together well, far as I've ever seen. Everything this camera has, I want. Hopefully it has the first thing I want- to just work.

Anyway, I didn't mean to jump your thread Mike. But, it's revelent I think. I'll start a new thread once the thing arrives. Mike, best of luck moving forward with this.

    Dan

  10. Like I said before, I only have myself to blame. That one you showed me a few weeks back I should have brought. I wouldn't be where I am at today. I am still looking at the one you have on line for around 500.00. I will most likely go with that...Mike.BTW that new one ya sent me works like a dream. I used that telephoto lens ya put with the package and it is sweet.

one good thing about ebay is that they have very good buyer protection. in some cases too good. They will always side with the buyer, even if the buyer is wrong. And you are definetely not wrong in this case. But my point is, all you have to do is open a case with the ebay buyer protection and the worst thing you will be out of is the shipping costs that you will incur to ship the PTZ back to the company, you will need to provide ebay with a tracking number once you ship it to prove to them when the item gets delivered. That way if the company jacks around and doesnt give you a refund, ebay/paypal will automatically take it out of their paypal account and put it in yours.

  11. It's my own fault. Sean has one for a few hundred more. I was trying to save a few bucks. I did get a email this morning from them and they sent a few pictures of connections they wanted me to check which I have already done that. Another crap-o-la problem I found out is Ebay protection plan they offer only covers if it is brought in the USA. Like I said before, I have never had any luck buying anything from Ebay. It is either junk or third class reworked OEM crap. This company from the start has been trying to get me to make a review of them and their product. I always wait a few months to a year before I do this to see how the product holds up and if the warranty is any good...lol....this one won't get high rates...lol...Mike

  12. This isn't a power problem or wrong voltage or a surge. I connected another camera where the PTZ camera was and all works fine. I have sent them now three different emails with no response. I guess I have been taken. So much for their one year warranty.Come Friday I will go in a different direction...lol. I really don't think it will do any good....but that's me.

  13. I paid with my PP acccount. But so far it has been 2 days with no reply. When I questioned them before about their product I would get a response within a few hours. I guess first I will try and let them handle it, then report to Ebay and then last to PP.As fas as I am concerned this is what gives Ebay a bad name.

It is unlikely you'll get your money back, so I'd just keep pushing for a full replacement. And if you payed with a credit card, which you should have, I'd call and see if you could dispute the charge. Sorry to hear of this.

What I don't get is what about this camera failure would cause the dvr to go nuts?

  14. A while back I sent Soundy a email on what would cause my DVR to keep rebooting. He gave me some suggestion to check out and all of a sudden it stopped. Just my luck..lol. Any way I was installing a camera Sean sent me and once I got everything hooked up I noticed again I had this reboot chet starting all over again. I started removing one camera at a time and found that PTZ camera to be causing all the problems. Then all of a sudden it bit the dust. I removed the camera and brought it in the office and hooked it up on a different line to make sure I didn't have a wiring problem. No glory. The company I brought it from on Ebay suggested it was my DVR that was causing my problem and to contact them. Right. I also hooked it up to the TV and still had nothing but a blue screen. The power supply that came with the camera is putting out 15.13 volts under full load which that is what their system is calling for. They supplied the PS with the camera. The power light is flashing and the green light on the main board is also flashing. I checked the voltage going from the main mother board to the camera and noticed I only has 1.37 volts instead of 12 volts like it was calling for. I am waiting to see what they want to do about it. So far they haven't responded to my email. They said they have never had a problem with any of their cameras.I also noticed when removed the dome cover I had a burnt smell...what woe. The board showed no signs of anything shorting out from what I could tell. I have a surge protector on the main power line coming to the whole house power supple and the data didn't show a spike or anything with the power supply.I feel like I am getting the run around as far as them replacing the camera or taking any action. I have never had any luck with Ebay and should have know better than to buy from Ebay. I will either be stuck with a large paper weight or a replacement. Would be nice if they would just send me a new motherboard but I would be afraid if they did that ...they would feel if it was something else it would be to bad for me....just ranting.

  15. This mickey mouse camera that came with this package has no adjustments what so ever. Ya hang'em and what ya see is what cha get. I get that camera I brought from ya today.

Normally, if your camera has an adjustable OSD menu, you can go in there and lower the gain settings which will help reduce the overexposure problem you are having with the IR whiteout problem. Right now, your camera is trying to electronically make the brightest picture possible at night, but in turn is making it too bright for faces. By lowering your gain settings, the picture wont appear as bright but will reduce the white out effect that you are having. You can try that with your current cameras to avoid having to spend more money on other ones. If those cameras do not have adjustable OSD, we have some that do have adjustable OSD that you can adjust the gain settings, checkout our Dahua 650 and 700 series IR cameras, we are out of the BT650 right now unfortunately but do have the dome version. I would probably lean more towards our 650 series as it has less IR bulbs and will reduce the IR whiteout effect with less IR leds.

Or, you can do as shockwave said and get a smart IR camera which physically reduces or increases the power of the IR depending on how close an object is to the camera.

  16. Sean, if you get a chance look at the two pictures that are on the sides of the house. Those are two cheap-o cameras. The problem I have is the IR blocks out any face views to a point I look like a no face white old man...lol. What cha got at the store that I can replace with. Also I have very little light on the sides of the house. Don't want to run another flood light system either.I have been leaning away from the IR cameras due to how they give the picture a washed out look. Can ya help me...Mike

  17. I was wondering what kind of lighting some are using in here. I installed in the front and back yard two flood lights above the cameras. They light the font and back yard ok, but I would like a brighter light. These are those 90 watt low power lights. Any suggestions....Mike

  18. Thanks, this system here has a 4 foot water tower that cools the processor, video card and one chip. The only blowers that are in there are filtered air going across the motherboard. Has the new electronic hard drive. Has Windows 7 both 32 bit and 64 bit, XP Pro 32 bit and 64 bit.Has a pond pump moving the water through the pooter. Does a great job for FSX. I think I am going to try one of those cards for the camera set up to see what it can do. This system has a 1500 watt power supply so I got room to play.I am more into pooters and programming but I am enjoying messing with the camera stuff too.The guys in here rock and that kind of support goes a long way with me.You know how it is...guys and their toys...lol.

Beautiful comp. setup --- call yourself new but you can install water cooling? Thats amazing..

  19. This is a shot of my home pooter and I am also thinking of buying a card to monitor the cameras.I built this system and it has all state of the art parts. To run FSX it has to be fast. It also runs completely on water for all cooling. You guys know of a good card to match up to this.

  20. Camera 1 is ptz, camera 2 CNB, camera 3 Aposonic 650 res., camera 4 Aposonic 480 junk, camera 5 Aposonic 480 junk, Camera 6 Aposonic 650 res., camera 7 CNB, camera 8 Aposonic 650 res. In my case the IR camera aren't very good for me.Makes the face look washed out white. Next project to replacement them with better one. ...Mike

  21. Last set up is the back of the house. The cameras at each end of the house came with the kit. They are so so but installing a flood light also made a huge difference. The camera in the middle is also one of the CNB cameras. I am having a problem getting that right for some reason. BTW on the record mode all camera record a better picture. When I called their Tech support he had me make four adjustments that made a difference on the recording side of the DVR, he told me on plan viewing it would look ok but one the recording part it would really help.Record Quality took to 9 / Event Record IPS 15 / Pre-record IPS 15 / and Normal record IPS 15. The last three were at 10 and the Record Quality was at 8 before. Still learning. Da wife wants to know when it will stop...lol. You know how us guys are. We ain't ever happy with our new toys...lol....Mike

  22. This set is of each side of the house. These are bottom of the line Mickey mouse camera made by Toy-r-us. There is a spider web on one of them and some vines on the other. I don't think I will be installing flood light on either side. Still researching a better night time camera for the sides of my house.

  23. Here is where I am at so far. The PTZ camera is the one of the Honda Pilot. As you can see it sucks...lol. The one of the other side with the Honda Accord is one of those 720 cameras....It's ok I guess. Adding the flood lights this morning really made a difference. Last night on the PTZ camera you could hardly see the Pilot. I can see what you guys meant by adding better lighting. The ones of the front porch with the rails are with one of thos PTZ cameras. The flood light above it made a huge difference.Any suggestion please pass my way. I have worried Soundy to death so far....Mike
