  1. Can anyone help please? I just can't seem to wrap my head around this. Adjust the values for the following parameters to adjust the amount of motion required to trigger motion recording: Sensitivity: The change in a pixel required for that portion of the image to be considered changed. The Sensitivity value is expressed as a percentage multiplied by 100. For example, a value of 100 indicates a 1 percent change, 5000 indicates 50 percent, and so forth. A brightnesschange from black to white would be a change of 10000, or 100 percent. This comparison is performed for all pixels in each image. Motion Area: The percentage of an image that must change as compared to the reference image for motion recording to be triggered. For example, a value of 10 percent means that one tenth of the pixels in the image must change enough as compared to the reference image for motion to be detected. Reference Count: How often the reference image is updated. A setting of 100, for example, means that every 100th image becomes the new reference. The 99th image would be compared to the first image, whereas the 101st image would be compared to the 100th image.

Setting up tours with Pelco cameras

Sounds like your using a Spectra HD or Spectra 5. In that case the 95 set will not work. Everything related to the tour has to be done thru the web gui. As far as wear and tear from constantly running tours/patterns goes, it all depends. We have some that have been running for years and some that go down after a month or so. Guess it all depends on how hungover the factory guys were on that given day!!

The ethics behind Covert camera installations.

We use covert systems as well. Typically in cases of employee theft, but we have to have solid evidence that a crime is actually occuring. Then there is the whole "reasonable expectation of privacy". Bathrooms, locker rooms, etc. Usually my video takes the fight away from the employee being charged, and they resign on the spot!

    VMS Suggestions

We have upgraded to the new ds. Just tired of Pelco advertising all these new features and not providing documentation on how to use them...
  5. Currently we run DSAdmin w/ DS Control Point as a client. Looking to see if there is anything better/ more user friendly. Most of our cameras are Pelco, with a few Areconts in the mix as well. Thanks

    Pelco IP110 Motion settings

Correct, we didn't have a problem (that I know about) on the 8100. The problem is after the sun shifts away from the camera, very little motion is being recorded. Bandwith is an issue since we are recording off site. Otherwise I would just let it record full time...

    Pelco IP110 Motion settings

I've been messing with the motion settings for almost a month now. With some odd results. The only constant is it always records sunrise and set. Now that I think about it we used to have it recording on a DX8100 Hybrid. When we upgraded the system to an NVR running DSNVS we started having problems with all the fixed cams on site. I was able to resolve all but this one...
  8. Hey folks, At one of our sites we have an IP110. In the moring the sun comes up and is glaring directly into the camera for the better part of the day. As a result we don't pick up motion during those times. Even after the sun shifts away from the cam we still hardly get motion video. We have another cam about 200 ft from the one in question so we know there is activity in the area. I know Pelco has discontunied the IP110 series but is it possible that the constant sun exposure has fried something in the camera? Thanks
