  1. maybe something heavier like cat 6 using 23 or 24awg wires, that might work better over the 100 ft.
  2. overpriced for what you are getting, look into hikvision.
  3. you would need your own powered speakers and powered microphone and the extra cabling, i have a bunch of 1080p domes that have the feature, but its not as easy as plug and play, still plenty of work needed.
  4. last year i managed to snag myself a bunch of used Raytec Raymax Fusion 50 RM50-F-30 for less then $150 each, those things are crazy bright, sucks that the angle wasnt great for me.
  5. so what is the firmware version that we should be careful with? Just to make sure i have it right.
  6. question so say i upgrade derytech firmware to latest one on wrightwood can i then flash hikvision firmware on top of it without any problems? i'm actually afraid to give that a try though.
  7. does this affect the ones sold by wrightwood wrightwood cameras are derytech
  8. lucky i only have 2 derytech cameras! glad i have not attempted to update firmware yet, or found the need to, as it seems to have all the functions that the 3mp cameras would have.
  9. 3mp and 15 fps can't be that much more then 2mp and 30 fps.
  10. ordered my 1 swann on the 25th, order confirm came in on the 26th at 1am. Guess i'm one of the lucky last orders until they replenish
  11. Agree with Buewinkle. It is a pain to mount on a vertical surface unless you are lucky enough to not need to point the lens to the right or left or need to point it toward the ground. Keep in mind there is no setting in the NVR to flip the camera image. What I had to do with my dome was remove the black plastic shield in the dome. Then I had to remove the screw that limits the travel on the lens so that I could point it down low enough. Not a big deal as the two screws on the axis are more than adequate when tightened down to keep the lens from moving. Then reinstall the black shield rotated 180 degrees. Now you can mount it vertically and have the lens pointing toward the ground instead of pointing out perpendicular to the wall. Now watch that someone will point out there is a flip image option and I did that workaround for nothing. LOL Something else you can try is to connect the camera directly to your network instead of the NVR to see if there is a setting in the cam to flip the image. That would avoid the mechanical workaround I did. Didn't think about that until now. The way I connected my Swann cam was to connect it to my router, and plug in a 12V power source to the camera. I used the Hikvision free SADP program to locate the camera on my network. From SADP I changed the camera's IP address to an IP address in my network's range, and I logged into the camera using my internet browser. From the browser there was various settings accessible. I'm guessing the Lorex dome camera may have the same browser support but not sure. there is a setting inside the cameras to flip the image, and i swear i saw the setting in the nvr to configure my cameras and flip the image as necessary.
  12. 2 avigilon dealers posted that it will work with hikvision and camera side motion detection.
  13. It was in the online oinly offers booklet that mailes last week some time yup i see it there
  14. holy ****! the prices for the cameras just sky rocketed! domes and bullets! from wrightwood nelly still has the low prices listed, but i think thats about to sky rocket soon too.
  15. wow those are out of stock? my 3rd just shipped yesterday, because i was pretty damn impressed with the 2 i installed already.
  16. what is the budget, and what kind of resolution are you looking for. PTZ does not come cheap usually, then there is the 2 way audio capabilities.
  17. i have to double check, i looked it over and it looked just like the foam i moved around on my 4mm, just bigger, no idea that was a plastic piece.
  18. From Wrightwood 8/2013 2.8mm http://imgur.com/a/bHGdY thanks, i didn't even realize that was plastic. thanks for the pics, wished websites were as through with posting pictures of items they have for sale!
  19. i have 2x june build 4mm domes, 2x july build 4mm domes, and 2x august build 2.8mm domes. no hard plastic in any of mine? they fit right over the lens via friction. which domes are you talking about?
  20. i have 2 of these installed, but both in a shaded area, i'm not sure but if these white housings have a external temp that high, can you imagine the internal temp? I think the hottest day i had them in was ~90 degrees day with some sun, but nothing as bad as focus shifting. Wished i could find the auto focus version at a good price, it would solve your problems!
  21. Not sure if this is considered a deal anymore after the Lorex Deal which had the NVR, 4 bullets and 2 domes for 999.99. Then again for some, 4 cameras is more then enough.
  22. Mine were not that bad but also did cover some of the LEDS. What I did with mine was just flip the foam upside down and press and tuck the foam down between the lens and LEDs. Looked fine after than. thats exactly what i did as well! they have been working well for a few weeks now that way.
  23. Do not agree for example in Avigilon I can pick ONVIF "driver" and connect to number of different cameras the only difference is some will give just video some will give you video and motion recording since the specific question was does hikvision have camera side motion detection with avigilon? can you please tell us? i have no experience with avigilon, but i know hikvision does not have camera side motion detection with onvif s rated nvr.
