  1. It is on its own network, all cams come directly back to a hp 24 port poe switch then directly to hybrid nvr. I have seen the affects of overloading the nvr, we could be on the edge of its capabilities. ..interesting. The camera is brand new as was the original cam...firmware on camera???? Thanks for the input... definetly somethhing to consider. ..
  2. I have the Gen4 version of the Dahua product line. It is a 16 channel hybrid with the latest version of the software. It has 14 Dahua IP cameras and 13 of the cameras never loose connection to the camera / video. The 14th camera is dropping video sporatically and then comes back up. It can be down for 1 minute or for 1 hour and everything in between. We swapped cameras already, we put new RJ45 ends on already and I have swapped Hewlett Packard POE ports already. I have the settings in the encode lowered to maximize the clarity and framerates WITHOUT having any ill effects on the playback. Some of the cameras are set at 14 fps, 720p, ~1500 or so BPS osme are set at D1. IF we start bumping the frame rates up or bumping things up to 1080... it seems to over load the system and causes issues... or ghosting as someone walks by. Other than running the cable again, any ideas out there?
  3. I have a customer that is using her MAC and wants to go into playback to review her files. Is this possible? Does anyone have a work around for it?
  4. Hi. yes it does support dahua cameras. and yes the nanos only support 4 ip cameras but its not as limited as the dahua. Are they supported by the PC based Aver systems also? I have a customer that has 25 of the Dahua cameras and wants to buy more... he also wants to know which NVR's can integrate with the cameras. Please do not say any that are ONVIF compliant. I have seen some cameras that show you video but then the audio is not working with the motion detection and you have to record 24 - 7. Looking for help, customer is ready to buy. The ones that I know of are Video Insight (Proven) Milestone (stated they work) Qnap / fiostar (stated they work) NUUO (stated they work) Aver (Tomcctv says it will work) any other ones out there that can say yes and proven?
  5. whoops, doing 8 things at once, helping a guy in Florida understand what the equipment does and looks like and google search brought up the forum. Oh well, One more thing off my to do list.
  6. I know the exact one you are looking for, does a great job and is a little of one hundred dollars. It has looping, 2 BNC and VGA outputs, and comes with power. busy right now update later
  7. Hello, So what is that Delta piece of equipment? Not sure how you can use it for POS. You would need to know the pinouts of the data flow from specific registers...but from the looks of it... it can overlay??? the transactions onto the video via the green connector? I understand the BNC connections could be in and out? Am I close?
  8. Has anyone ever got the POS feature to work on the XLA? I have setup multiple DVR's and integrated with the ruby verifone POS,7-11 Software, Aloha, PC America but I am not having any luck with this brand of DVR. Would like to here any success stories out there. I do not want to utilize a third party piece of equipment. The feature is listed in the main menu on the XLA. I know I am getting the data from the register because it is working on the PC based DVR at this time, I would like to transfer the cable to the serial port on the XLA, then select the correct settings. Thanks and hope to hear something soon. Hope to
  9. I went to the site and started looking around. I found a Bullet 2 Mega Pixel camera that does an amazing job for us but we get it from a different company who puts their name on it.... which makes me wonder what Aver would sell it for. From your perspective, what do you know of this equipment, how stable is it, how does the hybrid systems do out in the field. I like the G4-HD series for the embedded DVR's but I am wide open for a company that can supply me with a hybrid DVR / NVR. I have to run to a customer now but I would like to pick your brain in the near future... if you do not mind.
  10. looking for clarification... CSCOUT2001 wrote: DVR software to eliminate the 3rd party hardware. only with there cards at the moment it was on older dahua DVRs. Are you saying there "capture" cards for PC based DVR's?? VSI is a big expence for a customer. Yes I agree it usually adds 500.00 or so for the hardware thay is some cheaper options. I am all ears and looking for any information you can give me. there is not many DVRs that will take direct aver does on all its DVRs via network. Sorry not following this one who is aver???? what is the product that you have a picture of? Is it an alternative to the VSI that captures the text and overlays it on the video but has no ability to "search" for transactions via text. I am very appreciative of the information so far.... thank you!
  11. http://genivtechnology.com/products-one/Commercial-Class/G4-DCXT http://genivtechnology.com/products-one/category-two/G4-RXEPRO These are the newest version of the XLA. Same GUI (firmware) if you upgrade the firmware on the first XLA's that came out. After stopping and sitting down to re read your post, it makes sense. This is the 3rd party hardware I spoke of earlier. So this is the only way to utilize the POS for these DVR's. We are using the 102001 which is the VSI Pro, which overlays the pos transaction onto the video and then both are displayed at the DVR. (via one RG59 cable) We are not using the text overlay / POS feature within the software of the DVR... correct. I wonder if anyone is working on the DVR software to eliminate the 3rd party hardware.
  12. Thank you! I have been all through the menu and have never seen a list of registers that the DVR integrates with. Is this list on the dahua units. It is my understanding that the company I am buying this unit is just putting their name on the OEM unit. I wonder if I can get the Dahua units direct? The units have improved a lot over the last year and are basically selling themselves once the customer sees them. I am selling the new version (G4-DCXT) but it still has the same GUI and software as the XLA... just better hardware and firmware. Any information or websites to hit for the list of compatible registers would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Has anyone ever got the POS feature to work on the XLA? I have setup multiple DVR's and integrated with the ruby verifone POS, but I am not having any luck with this DVR.

    March Networks DVR

Anyone have experience in the field with this line of DVR's? Looking for any information that you can provide... I know they have a couple embedded brands but I am needing general information and a site to look at prices. Thanks
  15. Here are my Criteria 1) Integrate with Ruby Verifone Super system and Saphire... and will let me query the transactions to find specific video files 2) same for Gilbarco POS 3) Have 30 frames per second per camera with all cameras recording... on a 16 channel DVR...not 30 fps per camera on ONE camera and then 4 frames per second when you add the 3 or 4th camera. 4) come with a 2 year warranty 5) Use XP pro 6) can integrate with NCR and Micros POS registers also
  16. I rarely use 130.00 bullet cameras, more prone to use 170.00 plus cameras but not in the customers budget. I have tested the KT&C 520 TVL bullet seems to be OK I have tested Weldex bullets.... holds up in the field but.... I have tested the Intellicam bullet... not fond of it Any others you like?

    March Networks DVR

Do you know anything about the DVR... good or bad? How are the featues, remote viewing?
  18. Thanks to all... I am doing research on most and thus eliminating all the others out in the field. And we all know there are a lot to weed through. I have tested the HRC also and it never made it off the test bench, I use it now as a "this is not what you want to see camera" if I use it at all. Thanks again,
  19. 130 retail... take a look at the KTC -HD230CWX from KT&C. It works, color is off. doubt if it is really 520TVL but does seem to fit the customers need. I am going to look at the Eclipse Bullet now... do you have a model number? Thanks
  20. RTSSENTRY can do 7.5 at D1 and CIF is 30 frames per second per camera on a 16 channel. It is called the Echelon. Nice Box for the high end market, it is limited to 16 ports so you would need two 16 channel DVR.
  21. RTSSENTRYdotCOM does this also. It to will send an e-mail with a snap shot of what cause the motion. Take a look.
  22. We have used this camera and had very good luck with it. I am not sold on many of the Intellicam line of cameras but his one holds it own in the field. However the problem is every time I turn around to order one they are out of stock! Very frustrating and I am now looking elsewhere. The cost is usually 129.00. I hear they are called "snail cameras", you can get them from various sources but I am looking for a replacement with these features. 1) outdoor camera 2) vari focal 3) 480 TVL 4) IR (that actually works) 5) in that price range Needle in a hay stack?

    Pixim Orca chip

Been a while since I have looked around here, just found out Everfocus is bringing a dome with the wide dynamic feature... looking forward to it. So what is the conclusion on the EQ600 vs the GE. Do you still like it?

    Pixim Orca chip

We tried the Pelco with Pixim chip dome... not that impressive, can't tweak to get the shot you are after. We tried the Intellicam Pixum chip box camera... works but died in the field (two different cameras) We do use the Everfocus EQ600 a lot and have never had a problem, you can tweak this camera to actually get the shot you are after... and that shot is looking straight out a door or window and still be able to see the individual walking through the door and the cars outside in the parking lot. Samsung WDR does not use the Pixum chip and it does show... everything seems to have a haze in the picture. If you do some research on this subject, and individual did a wonderful job of explaining what the camera is doing and why the haze is there. So in a nutshell... the chipset might be in the camera but the camera has a big play in the matter. Good luck and just my .02 worth of what I have seen in the field

    Camera MANUFACTURERS Poll

Well, I needed some information on a camera line and was just about to ask on this site and this poll is going on. What a source for information. My question was about the KT&C line of cameras and so far it gets 0% rating. My real question is on the cameras with the 3 X zoom and the wireless remote to tweak in the field. Seems weird it only gets 0%, someone is using these cameras, and I know I have seen them at the Vegas Show... Can this poll be tweaked....by the way we use the Samsung 300 zoom camera to cut labor cost vs the expense of the camera.... Here is a little tweaking to the poll, let me know what you think. How about we set some ranges and criteria 150.00 to 190.00 domes with vari focal, 500 plus TVL and success rate in the field. Rather than prices lets say these are good entry level cameras and the individual looking for information can go do their own homework on prices and sources. 4 choices to start (items in Par. states the neg issues) Add more if you use them and have good luck with ED350 from Everfocus (not gimble, not auto iris) but a pretty good camera Arm C540VAI (fairly big black housing, color seems to be off) but gimble mount, auto iris and works Ganz 4000 series (getting one in this week to test, if I like I will test in the field) We could then move up to the 200.00 to 250 range and call them good cameras (above entry level) the Ganz 3210 would be in this range down the road we could add the Panasonic and Sanyo Pan focus and Samsung cameras for high end installations Just a thought this Saturday morning over coffee. If it is too much work to set up then so be it.
