    new computer log in....HELP

Sorry but I don;t know much about Cipher strength what I do know is that in my start menu when I open up the Internet Explorer (64 bit) I can not access my CCTV but when I open the other Internet Explorer in the start menu, shows 256 under properties, then I can access my CCTV system. Honestly I don't know the difference I just know it took me a couple of weeks to discover this and Dell Tech never did try it....and now I can access my DVR Maybe this will help somebody down the road

    new computer log in....HELP

Got it working - I worked with Dell tech support for 4+ hours over 2 days and finally can view my CCTV system on my new computer. They tried everything, took the computer back to factory settings, reloaded all software, researched the error messages and then were trying to give up saying it wasn't the computer. I kept telling them the remote access worked on my lap top and also on the desk top the new computer replaced..... Bottom line while on hold with a supervisor I tried it on the IE 256bit version enabled the Active-x, paused all security and the remote access loaded. I now have full access as long as I use the 256 version of IE....the 64bit version will not access. I will say Dell tech support worked very hard trying to assist

  8. I just purchased a new computer and I can not log into my CCTV DVR at our vacation home. I can log in on my wifes computer so I know it's a matter of getting it set up. I've gone into the security settings and "enabled" activeX, the same as I did with my oldl computer. This is driving me crazy. I can get to the log in prompt and after entering the usernams and password it says "log in failed" I am running windows 7 on both computers. My new computer has standard and 64 bit Explorer and I've tried both. Any suggestions??
  9. now I understand SATA is a plug and IDE is a ribbon it may make more sense to just purchase a new recorder with the proper size HD
  10. OK now I understand?? sorry but what did they say? since my current HD is 160, I'm sure 500 would be good if that is the recommended size... can somebody recommend a replacement hard drive? model manf..
  11. I have a Speco DRV that has a Seagate ST3160815A 160 GB hard drive and I'm only getting about 4 days recorded....This is at a vacation place so would like to get about 2 weeks if possible. bullet camera adjustment

the DVR does have a field of view adjustment......what does that do?
  13. Can bullet camera"s be adjusted? motion or distance? I have a Speco DVR system with 2 Speco HT-7716 camera's and one needs to be zoomed out and with the other records everytime a bug fly's by, their set to record motion. They are at a cabin we have and I had them set to send an e-mail when there is an event, actually recorded a bear, but I've turnd the e-mails off because I was getting 20 or more per night. Thanks in advance for any help Greg
  14. honestly since I'm a beginner I'm not sure there were a number of points he had me work on - the DVR was giving an address of .com instead of .net so he had me update the software (this took aminute to realize it was addressing itself wrong), change it from port 80 to port 100, reset the trigger and ports on my router and run the ez-ddns over and over until it all worked. Along with a couple of calls with Speco to be sure they could see the unit. Once it listed the unit as a .net it was a matter of getting the Comcast router to see the unit and my computer to get the address. . I believe with the unit being a TN series, discontinued, and me not having any of the factory disc didn't help because once he discovered it had named tself as .com then we had to get the unit to talk to the router so it could update itself. All in all it took a bit of time and a lot of patience with a beginer on this gentlemen's part to get the unit up and running
  15. Thank you for the reply's but the issue has been resolved.....a great guy form a Security company in Knoxville e-mialed me his phone number and offerd to assist. We probably spent 2 solid hours trouble shooting and he even conatcted Speco a couple of times and called me back....in the end I can now view it at my primary residense. Having a person offer so much of their time to help me on this after the others either failed or wouldn't even get back to me really helps to remember that there are good people still around that are willing to help others in need. I greatly appreciated his help " title="Applause" /> " title="Applause" />
