  1. I am using the VMS 16.10.3.0 software.  Was all working.  Now when I login, I see the cams like normal.  Then when I choose the viewlog icon to review some cams the screens are not there.  Just gray backgrounds.  The bottom has the video recorded in the red bars.  You can select any time frame you need.  It's all there.  Just the video isn't there.  I can load up the system from gv-Eye off my android phone.  Go into a cam and select past dates to view.  They play fine on the phone.  The video was recorded.

I've messed up a setting somewhere I'm guessing.

    Help.

  2. I know this is an IP cam, but I'm using the GeoVision software. I have this one IP cam link to my current 1480 card. It's a fisheye cam. All works good. Question is, upon playback, you can have it pick seven camera views. Can you rotate those images?

  3. I see the newest version of the Geo cards is a "ComboA". I am looking at the 1120 or better cards.

My question is, What is the difference? Should I worry about getting the latest version?

  4. Didn't know where else to get help on this. Using 8.12 software, in the viewlog, when trying to save the avi file, open the destination directory, create a new folder, but you can't type or rename the folder or files.

Could someone else see if the bug is on thier system too.

I can use the default new folder name and go back later in my computer and change it.

Wanted to get some confirmation before looking for a place to report the bug.

  5. Win Xp pro

    2gb

    Geo 1480

    Asus mb

    Core 2 duo 6300

    1tb storage

    NVidia video

I used a P4 2.8ghz before with 1g ram. It was ok. I use this machine for light surfing and small spreadsheets and stuff sometimes as all other machines might be occupied. With the Core 2 and 2gb it runs the viewlog better and faster. 1tb on motion record with 12 cams(c-store) gets me 12-14 days video storage. Just using Mpeg4. 640x480 de-interlace. I chose cams that were 480-520tvl just to make sure I was getting good video. Research your Core 2's. Get one with the 4mb cache, just a much faster chip.

I figured quality was my main concern, I had to have the best card. Once you are spending some money, a little more and you get the 1480. If you are like me, you are trying to catch the action of someone(employee or customer) doing something. More fps the better. And don't buy a 12 cam card, like Rory said get 16. You can always not use a port, versus needing that other input for something you thought of later.

  6. Thanks for the recommendations.

I found Avermedia makes an adapter to use an LCD monitor. I could get that and a LCD screen for around $200-300. CCTV monitors are around $500.

Not sure I care about the quality there. Just using it so the customer gets a reminder he is on tape.

Do you think it really matters.
