  1. I put in a 1480 and gonna use the DSP out for a monitor in the customer viewing area.

What is everyone using here? Seems like the cheapest solution would be a TV set.

Is there a cheap way to hook up an LCD monitor unit?

  2. Control Center would be for live viewing only, but of multiple systems. How well does it work over the internet?(I guess that really depends on my speed, doesn't it.) It wouldn't run all the time, just when I want to view right?

  3. There is Epson, General, and Graphmode.

There are no words in the garbage.

Another thought, I have brought the data capture box home with a spare printer. Just using another computer to print on it(which is working). Just getting the garbage onscreen. I included a pic of the cam with some of the garbage onscreen. Would printing from a different machine just with plain text not work? Trying to get the bugs worked out before I returned.

  4. Ok, trying to install data capture onto a PC POS system. Using a parallel printer. The PC POS program is using Epson driver, but using a Citizen thermal printer(they replaced them at some point because they worked faster.) I have the V3E. I have the unit installed and the PC POS system prints through the data capture module fine. I have it connected to the GV-1480, and it displays on the camera feed. But it displays garbage.

How do I go about troubleshooting and fixing?

  5. I have my setup done, it works. I used uPnP in the Geovision software to setup the router.

But if the router gets rebooted due to a power outage or someone needs to reset the unit or whatever, it looses the firewall settings. Most likely I won't know before hand that this has happened. So I can't easily(quickly) fix the problem remotely.

I can remote in to the Geo Machine and open the software and tell it to re-enable the uPnP settings. But that takes a few minutes.

So first question, how do you make the Geo software enable the uPnP setting each time it runs.

Next someone is going to mention to permanately setup the ports in the firewall setting of the router. Well, this is where the problem started, as this was what I was going to do. But the router only holds 10 user entries. uPnP holds 23 entries.

Next question, what routers hold more entries? Or what entries must I have to get the job done and why are there all those other entries that the Geo software enables?

  6. With the Geo Video server, you can add two cameras. Does it have a cat5 on the back, and two USB? Couldn't see the back in pictures.

If so, you still have to run cat5 to the network or add a USB wireless adapter. Does any USB adapter work?

Also if using this standalone, you could add a USB HDD for storage? And even use this by itself as it has a web server built-in?

    What am I misreading here?

  7. This is a P4 machine with intel chipset. I used a GV1000 on it for a couple years before. Always worked good. I only used the GV-250 to play with the 250. I could always reformat, but was trying to save some time.

I uninstalled the 250 software before , but I will make sure to get some of the things mentioned here and see if that works.
