  1. I had my cams up on my iPad and picked him off walking down the drive. I also got an email notification with pics but didn't notice until everything was over.
  2. Noticed this guy walking down my driveway towards my backyard. He began piling things he was going to take (scrap metal) like a raccoon trap, pieces of copper and other metal I had against my fence. I banged on the window and he saw me, but as you can see wasn't in a real hurry to get out of there, rather he picked up a copper bar, continued to look around casually, and left abandoning his haul but not the copper bar. I called Police and they were able to locate him down the street. Yes- the camera's are slightly out of focus. Make sure to watch in HD by clicking the option at the bottom right. Enjoy!
  3. Hey, I recently installed 4 Vivotek FD8361 Camera's around my place. I am very pleased so far with them. Here is a time lapse video (sped up 64 times) of a small construction project we were working on. I know its not the best "test video", but there is not a lot of reference video out there for this camera. Thanks
  4. Do you mind posting some pictures? I am buying the same cameras and have only seen one other post that actually showed pictures from the FD8361. Would love to see some day time / night stuff.
  5. Hey, Has anyone done this before? I am considering buying IP camera's off eBay because I have some gift cards I got for my birthday and haven't used. The models I am interested are being sold on eBay brand new for about $250 less then where I can buy them locally. I am in Canada and the camera's are in the US. I am wondering if having them shipped to Canada may void the warranty. The camera's that I am considering are Vivotek's. Any input would be appreciated. thank you

    Vivotek FD8361

Greetings everyone, I have decided to install a simple 2 cam setup at my house after a rash of break ins have occured in my area. Originally I wanted them to have built in IR illuminators for night time, but since I am concerned with the over-all looks of the cameras on my house I have decided I want them installed into the eave of my roof. Since my house is 2 stories, the IR illuminators on the cameras would be virtually useless at that height. I have considered installing two motion acitivcated flood lights at the front and back of my house as opposed to separate illuminators. Originally I was set on purchasing 2 Vivotek FD8361 camera's but since I have decided the IR function isn't a huge asset to me, I was thinking of purchasing the same version of camera minus the illuminators. What I am looking for is: -High resolution -Motion triggers to be processed at camera level so I can use a nettop/older computer to record to -Dome style -Varifocal lens w/optical zoom I would greatly appreciate any ideas or opinions you guys have, or what setups have worked for you. Thanks Will
