    Sighthound Video Software

I will throw you my address where to send those cameras too

    Sighthound Video Software

    1) I find Sighthound allows a much more sensitive and accurate motion alerting that BI does. Honestly I have not re-visited BI doing that for me in about a year or so though. 2) i5 2400 (3.1GHz), 4GB RAM, Win 7 Pro 32-Bit, Toshiba 7200 RPM Drive. Nothing too special. Average CPU load is 14% and 44% Mem usage. 3) Two at 1280x720 and one at 320x240
  3. I have installed ~7 of these and none of them had this bad of a halo. Any tips? Installed under an eve, the sun shield extended ~1". It replaced a Dahua IPC-HFW2100 with the halo issue I have seen on all of them so far. Kind of disappointed in replacing it.

    Empire ESC-IPC-1 Halo?

Just got back in town and have not had a chance to look at it. Might rip it apart tonight to take a look. Sent an email to Empire but no reply yet.

    Sighthound Video Software

I used VitaminD and switched to Sighthound for the upgrade. It does use a decent amount og CPU usage, but I have a dedicated box for Sighthound+BlueIris and it is not an issue. Their support is awesome as well. I sent a couple emails and they were quick, friendly, and helpful. The web console though is rather slow, to a point I dont even use it. They do have an Android app that is so-so. I had too many false positives with other motion alerting. 100s an hour. Sighthound fixed that issue for me.

    Empire ESC-IPC-1 Halo?

Razer: Will check that. Buell: This one has the hood painted black already.
  7. This is my first run @ the EPC cameras. Installed 4 ESC-IPC1. Web view works great, but the only Android/iPhone app that works (vMEye) dosnt seem to play nice. I found vMEyePro is a bit more stable that standard vMEye. My problem is I have two cameras that do not work consistently on mobile. It either does not connect, or when it does the image is degraded (RGB squares everywhere, only shows the moving pieces of the frame, etc). Any thoughts?
  8. This is a dome camera, correct? And no IR?
  9. Is there a link to the ESC-1 to Empire Security? I cant seem to find it.
  10. When looking at the feed from my IPC-HFW2100, it seems to be about 45 seconds behind. It is worth using VLC to watch the stream, but still slow using the web console. Is this normal operation?
  11. Running a Dahua camera w/ PSS. I have to break each video file into 1 hour chunks. I just had an event take place in the last ten minutes I want to watch. Unfortunately w/ PSS I can only get the last completed recording. Am I just missing it?

    IPC-HFW2100 ~45 Second Lag?

Have not noticed a lag in the other PCs, but they are not as close to my gate which is what I monitor. The computer running the VLC stream is a C2D but I can't imagine it pegging out the CPU? I guess it is possible, but unlikely. I will do some more testing once the rain lets up and see if I can run through some scenarios. Your VLC stream, was it the primary or secondary?

    IPC-HFW2100 ~45 Second Lag?

Yes, I am not interested in spending another $20 for something. Thanks for the links, but I have other priorities in regards to spending.

    IPC-HFW2100 ~45 Second Lag?

The Bahama Security ones says downloads only for premium members only.

    IPC-HFW2100 ~45 Second Lag?

Easy for my wife to use on the HTPC. She just has to simply double click a shortcut and boom, it is up.

    IPC-HFW2100 ~45 Second Lag?

Is there criteria for 'certain conditions'? Camera is on the same switch as the computer viewing, connection is wired.
  17. Why didnt I think of that before? I went round and round repositioning my cam trying to reduce the halo. I have some black rattlecan. I might tape off the area really good and coat it.

    Recording with PSS

My Rebadged Dahua also has sensitivity adjustment for motion but I couldnt get it to a 'usable' level in my opinion. Glad you got it figured out.
  19. I did find running Vitamin D has cut down on the false positives but still gives me notifications without additional hardware.

    Recording with PSS

I am doing full time recording as the motion was way too sensitive, and I have tons of space to spare. So if you are doing motion, not sure I can help you.

    Recording with PSS

Absolutely. I am using it now. Was using BlueIris (Way better IMO) but not ready to buy a license just yet. This is the link I used: http://www.bahamassecurity.com/articles/dahua-offsite-recording.asp#6
  22. Do you guys get bombed with motion alerts? It seems like every time there is a breeze it would move the shadows of trees on my driveway and alert.
  23. I turned off the email alert on my Dahua because I got hit with motion every couple seconds.
  24. Installed an Dahua IPC-HFW2100 1.3 Mega Pixel IP IR Outdoor Bullet Security Camera yesterday. Works great when on my local network, works great on android cell phones. However I head in to my office and have trouble. I can get to the web console and administer anything. I cannot see video when I click on Main or Sub Stream. However when I click on 'Set' and go to the video properties, it shows me the video perfectly. Thoughts on this? Also, any tips on adjusting the motion alert? It seems to be incredibly sensitive to shadows no matter what I set (AntiDither @ 10 seconds and sensitivity at 6).
  25. I have read enough to know you guys really are not fans of the -$200 cameras. Unfortunately that is about all I have budgeted right now. I just want an IP camera to monitor my driveway. As seen below is my property. The red square is where the camera will be mounted, which is the eve of my garage. It has direct line of site down the driveway (See arrow). My gate is the green rectangle and is less than 50 feet from the garage. If I can see farther than that, great but not necessary. So I am looking for an: outdoor camera, IP, able to monitor via Android, and some sort of night time ability. Even if I have to buy an external illuminator, I am ok with that. Plenty of places (Like on the house) to place an illuminator Not looking at picking out faces, license plates, etc. Just a way for us to see who is on our driveway. Any suggestions? I was following the Ubiquity AirCams for a bit but they seem rather immature in the production. I almost purchased the deal on Woot today (Zmodo 4 camera setup w/ 8 Channel DVR) but then I would have to do a lot more work and need a lot more hardware to get it working. Any suggestions? I have no problem buying a used camera, just cannot seem to find a good place for them.
