    Hybrid DVR or NVR?

I'm planning on building a new system using Dahua products and want to know if I should buy a Hybrid DVR or an NVR? What are some of the pros and cons? Also, should I get the Hybrid DVR with Effio? NVR - http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/nvr3804-3808-3816-1.html Hybrid - http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/dvr0404-0804-1604hf-u-10.html

Need help deciding on DVR system

Thank you for the response snik. I decided to take the Samsung kit back and put together a system myself, as you mentioned. Seems like everyone prefers Dahua so thats the route I will take. The one question I have though is if I should go with a Hybrid DVR or Full IP NVR?

    Help/Advice on new home system

BigRedFish, Did you buy what you listed above? I am interested in getting the same setup and am curious to know how much it cost, where you got it from, how you like it, and what would you change if you were to redo it?

  6. Today I purchased the Samsung SDE-5001N (http://www.samsungsv.com/Model/Detail/11/Samsung-SDE-5001N-16-Channel-DVR-Security-System) at $799 from Costco for a new home setup. I've been trolling this forum reading as much as I can in the past couple of days but I'm still not sure what I need. Im curious to know if this is a good setup for outdoor use. I noticed that most people reccomend Dahua but I'm not sure where I can find that in North America. Would I be able to get something better quality for the same price I paid? Here are a list of needs I have (that I can think of so far): - 6 Channels - 1080p resolution - 30 fps (atleast for the driveway camera) - 2 weeks of storage - Motion detection - Good night vision - Water proof of course - Between $500-900 Here is the layout of my house and how I was planning on setting it up. Feel free to comment on where else I should add one. The Blue lines are doorways Thanks in advance
