    pan and tilt on tower?

Thanks Toss. I'm so far off the beaten path, the tax people even have problems finding me... LOL What I have on that short tower is a cheap get-r-started but its a Lorex wireless. Cost about 90 I think if memory serves me right. Got it just to try and like mentioned, tickled to death with the day light picture and its looking down that 1100 foot drive but at night the picture goes away. Don't want to cut up the yard and dig another cable trench ... Did that on the dock but was leveling out the yard so it was not a problem at that time. Going to ask something around the bush here ... Are there any countries that you can order a wireless from that have it where you can get more power on/from the camera or on the system all together. From what I can tell, i'm getting 3 out of 4 bars on the little scale that shows up on the monitor on the wireless one and there is nothing blocking it. Noticed quick if the receiver was not in a window I got ZERO sig from the camera. Thank you again for the knowledge and I was unaware at the wattage being so low as in the MW but hay,,, I understand it... LOL Was bran new when I installed that line going to the dock and I got the biggest cable I could but your correct, camera is 12v out there and its a good 250 foot from the house. Not the best reception from the camera on the dock. I'll try switching up to 24v on that one but question again and I know everything depends on the law but on a given adv. what would be a reaching the limits on a 24v system. I know weigh stations have cameras that are up to 1/4 mile away from the towers I have to roll by so know they are doing something with those and no my property is not that big.. HAHAH Home receiver is 2 TB on the recording. I travel, gone almost two weeks out so the 2TB hard drives do let me record about everthing that goes on in real time... Just added the upstairs system and the new GF so setting the home security up for her more than anything. She's a trouper and loving it. Getting involved with it to. Thats when I figured I should seek more knowledge about these things and googled up the forum. 4 camera's up there and that brings up another question I'll ask in a minuet but wanted the GF to have a system if the drive way reporters started going off, she could see out and make sure we didn't have deer running down the drive and that happens a lot in winter months which are coming up. I've had 4 beeps where they enter the main gate then 3 when their half way down the drive, look at the cameras and will have 4 to 5 running but this was first light in the mornings so I could see them, so it sounds like a car is coming towards the house with the reporters. Just a cheap fun set up I designed. Most of the camera's now are 600line lorex. About 80 dollars each. Head unit or DVR I spent a little money on. Here's that funny question I wanted to ask and gentleman i'm not only talking to Toss.. Would thank you if any of you have information that you can throw in there.. I'm all ears learning this stuff. QUESTION. Can I split the video signal from the upstairs unit to the down stairs unit also. Down stairs with the 2tb units are, I have a 8 camera set up. Up stairs there are 4. I want to add a T connection if this will work to the wireless camera we were talking about and run it down to the unit down stairs where I can have that picture on both the upstairs and down stairs unit. I could add another 12V power supply to that line so that is not a problem,,,,,, just wondering if this will work. Don't want to go through the trouble of running the line from up there to down there and the thing now be worth the time. Hope I wrote it where you could understand it. Thanks guys for the replys. I'll be the first to wave my hand and say I"m not new just not up to snuff on the better systems and what you can do with them but fired up playing with this thing. Have CCTV on the pickup truck with twin camera's. One facing down to watch the ball for hooking up on the back of that camper and one at the top left to watch the 30 foot trailer and the boats while I'm pulling them. 7 inch monitor mounted on the dash and Love those toys. I was so impressed with the picture of the cheap lorex I swapped out the camera on the top left of the camper with a 600Line lorex and it gives a beautiful picture at night and day time in the monitor Last question and this is enough for one post. LOL Is there any audio devices that are especially designed for mounting outside. I'm right on the water so its always damp here and things have a way or not lasting long outdoors. Have one audio in a camera now but wanted one for upstairs. Camera down stairs at back door has audio. If nothing else, its cool when the crickets and frogs get started in the evenings . They let me know its cookout time. LOL If there is a good outside audio device could you gentleman send a link to it. Thank you and thanks again for your time. LUKE PS.. GrouchoBoucho.. Across the sound from the ocean. About 35 miles. Actually on brackish water here. Catch both fresh water fish and salt so its still tough on outside toys.

O lord it does have a windshield wiper. LOL Hey,, I ask ... Bounced over rear quick and use e bay and a tool for finding things. 3000 grand down to 450 used.... Thank you.. 1. Have 2 questions one on the wireless and already see you guys know these things. Are there any wireless camera's that will give you a clean picture at night . 2. How long a run can you make with a 12v system and still pull down a clear picture? Thanks again.

    pan and tilt on tower?

Free standing tower I use to install them. One I took down and still easy to climb. Old kid here. Still stretch chains and climb rails hauling cars on a 10 car stinger rig so getting up and down that tower is the easy part. Might pay for it day after tomorrow but you know the deal..Seems like a good idea today. Already learned my lesson on the others and spiders.. Wet summer its almost a every week thing cleaning camera's off. If only they would put windshield wipers on the PTZs... The only camera I'm not real happy with I circled . Its the only one thats wireless. Nice picture during the day but night it has a white blur to it.. Thats for another thread. VHF antenna on top of tower and taking the tv antenna down under it.. Build a mount for the side of the tower and install. I have learned one thing about keeping spiders away for a short time. Don't think it really matters what brand but I soak the camera down and all around it with bug and spider killer from lowes . Keeps them off it for at least 4 to 5 weeks then it wears off but have one on a tv rotor on the pier and if I didn't spray that one its a every night thing. GF gets to do that duty.. LOL Good woman. Dang good woman. LAMO.

you get what you pay for. buy a cheap ptz, you'll get weak construction, short life, and poor image. if you're near salt water, that adds a whole other level of corrosion concern. you won't usually find ptz's bundled with controllers, because there are so many different control options. you can run 100+ cameras off one controller and nobody wants to pay extra for a controller with every camera. many dvrs can control ptz cameras as well, which would make a bundled controller an unneeded extra expense. Thank you for the reply. Kinda figured one size won't going to fit all but if you know one or two that have received good reviews I would thank you to post a link or something where I can get a start in the right direction.. 12 camera system on the property now, but have not messed with the PTZs........yet...

    pan and tilt on tower?

Needing a pan and tilt dome with zoom. New here, just got on yesterday, but already have my systems going and liking them but have a 70 foot Rohn tower beside my house and thought about putting a pan and tilt dome on the top part of the tower with a right good zoom where I could see down river and anything else we want to look at. Just don't know which ones last, and which ones are user friendly and most important, which ones show a clean picture on zoom. Hoping you gentleman could help me out and where is the best place to order them from. Seen the ones on e bay for 16 to 23x zoom but not wanting to make a mistake and order one then find out there's not much to them. Need the inside controls and everything. Any help I would thank you.

    Residential Peace Of Mind Design

Camera's would be better off under the top eve where no one could get to them but mount them near/over the big window where you can get to them easy if spiders are bad in your area. You'll learn quickly if they are or not with night vision. LOL Leaning out of a window with a broom is a lot easier than carrying a ladder over to the side of the house once a week. Have twin systems and twin drive way alarm set up. One upstairs and one down stairs. Chamberlain drive way reporters are a nice cheap addition. 1100 foot drive and have 4 reporters for the down stairs. Nice thing about them is every reporter has its own number of beeps. If you set 4 reporters up, one will make your inside unit beep 4 times. Next one 3, next one 2 and then one. You know where someone is on the property by how many beeps there are. Upstairs same way. Anyone comes in the gated drive, we know it then half way down the drive, then at the back of the house. They last about 4/5 years. 150 for 4 on amazon or e bay. Just sticking up my second set. Upstairs and down.
