  1. Hi im running an onyx 16ch apollo 4x with 15 2.4mp cams running coax cables using TVI. issue i have is that after a power cut/reboot, a couple of cams never come back online DVR sub window is blank and the log says No Bitrate (enc) and channel number if i power cycle the DVR, all cams may come back on but alternatively another 2 cams will be offline. is there any setting changes i need to make? The encoding is the same for all channels- bitrate type is VBR Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Daytime pics are great, nighttime is ok, not the best. my question is that what is the max camera resolution I can get from current setup? contemplating upgrading to a 4k system but not sure whether to stick with onyx or switch to Hikvision as im seeing these everywhere now? any advice appreciated. Thanks.

  8. Thanks Tom, so would I need to stick with qvis cameras for both ip and coax? Or am I able to mix camera brands with this dvr? Dvr looks like exactly what I need, will stick with same internal cams I think as u advised.

  11. Hi, I have upgraded my system on the weekend. replaced Qvis zeus DVR with Onyx Apollo quattro Got Onxy 1080p 2mp cams (work fine in colour!) Got Qvis 1080p 2.2mp cams (work fine in black and white!) These are TVI cams using shotgun cables. I have tested all the Qvis and they all appear B&W. I have checked on the DVR and remotely and its B&W on both. Can anyone help? Thanks.

    Black and white 1080p cam

Yes cam is at front of house and gets the sun from 12pm onwards so definitely enough light. I have covered the cam and can hear the click and the leds come on. It isn't stuck in night mode

    Black and white 1080p cam

Hi the cam is definitely set to tvi. I can see the ahd option and there is an auto option too but defo set to tvi, but still B&w. If I hard reboot the dvr, it comes up colour but then eventually goes B&w. I may just change the cam to onyx.

  17. Hi, I am looking to add to my 5 camera setup. Currently I have 4 white varifocal external cameras with 1 black varifocal external camera. Not sure what make they are but i think they are 700TVL Sony CMOS. I have recording D1 quality at 6fps on each camera. I am looking to add a couple more cameras but looking at HD cameras. I have a Qvis Zeus DVR. I have read here that i can use the existing shotgun cable if i was to get HD cameras but i am not sure if i need to change my dvr? I assume i would but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
  18. The Qvis Quattro 16ch 2tb is about £300, does anyone know how much roughly the equivalent IP dvr is?
  19. Thanks. I want to use the existing coax save me recabling.
  20. Hi, I can access my internal cameras using IE on Windows Vista using the internal and external addresses without no issue. I did initially have to change the security settings to allow unsigned certificates to be installed once prompted. I could never get Chrome to work though. I have a Windows 10 machine now but when I try and access the cameras, I get the initial logon page as normal, once in, I get the console interface, but get the Quicktime 'Q' displaying where the CCTV images should be. I have made the changes to the security settings as I did previously but without no luck. Does anyone know how to solve this? Thanks in advance.
  21. hi, still cant get this to work with all activex options enabled. it keeps asking for QuickTime to be installed.
  22. yeah the current qvis software/interface is great. so i'll prob get the qvis quattro dvr. what HD cams do you recommend?
  23. Is Hikvision just as good as qvis?
  24. Thanks. There doesn't seem to be many qvis Quattro DVRs around. Are they new? I hear that Hikvision do good DVRs - are there any good?
