  1. "operating system: embedded Windows® XP (32-bit)" No, the real time display is also important... or this "pro nvr" is never to be used in Centralized Surveillance? If real time display is not interesting, we could all use NAS and pay for a good NAS management software... Why buy AVER NVR?
  2. enough. IWH3216 Touch II is a device that supports 3/5MP, recording up to 5 mp/channel and a total of 42 MP for 16 channels (with random calculations for how does that per channel); also, recording is also random, since it can be H.264, MPEG4 or MJPEG... I bet pros installing AVER have a fixed random codec, that makes a calculus about storage and bandwith needs. It can record 5MP, but it displays it at 2MP, as any other "toy nvr"... it runs on Windows and the support is ...on air...
  3. I think you don't understand very well... The camera can encode at any level, but can the NVR decode at that level? The fun about NVRs is decoding...
  4. The IWH3216 Touch II? Based on licensed Windows? with no framerate and codec specified for IP? (also 5*16=80, so no total of 42 mp..., no up to 5MP per channel)? Where are the tech specs of it? Like: it can do max this @ max res ? Or max bitrate? Or max anything else? And Aver supports what? The Microsoft System? The software? Who does the updates? Who is responsable for security bugs in Windows? If only things were that simple...
  5. Cause that could make a difference in a long term All avers what? NVRs? What models? I found few with VGA 1024x768 output... And no info about recording... Just info about "supporting" 3MP. That's different from recording, as i do suppose you know We worked and serviced some Aver... And, if I'm not familiar with all products, I just ask... this is the 4th time I ask you to give a product name/code and specs... and the last time, too...
  6. Which AVER NVR does 3MP recording? And, yes, I was talking about the cost of runing a NVR...
  7. avermedia what? software for Windows? and that runs on air? in air? no hardware required? so your smartphone charger adds up to the bill as your PC does? or your laptop? or your fridge?
  8. as i stated, please do point to a list of standalone NVRs that do 3/5MP... that means record a 3MP camera at 3MP, not record a 3MP camera at 1080p/720p/or anything lower... if we go the "software" way, you have to compute hardware + SO license + NVR software license + energy bill + cost of a hardware watchdog or get a server-class solution (hardware+software) and, also, add energy bill
  9. any wireless camera needs power... so that means at least one cable wired to it so... it's simpler to use a camera with PoE... the cable does the power and the video too
  10. no long way... can you point a standalone NVR that records at 3/5MP? thread was about 1080p... and, also, "throwing" posts with no value isn't interesting
  11. 3rd party... yes, i do know those new NVRs/DVRs... but that doesn't mean they will change the protocol. even now, if you want to record 3MP/5MP, you could via PSS or if you will lower the main stream to 1080p. where's the compatibility issue? the limitation is in the hardware, not in software...
  12. I do deal daily, for the last 4-5 years, and I never had any problem interconnecting new and old hardware.
  13. You could take a look at http://www.camiolog.com/ that would give real alerts, instead of "false" motion. It works (tested) with DAHUA
  14. i doubt that, although we might check that out. DAHUA had always made compatible new/old products and solutions. all their equipment interconnects... why would they, after so many years of product dev&research, leave it all behind and start from scratch? they even made their new line of IP Video Door Phones compatible with their line of CCTV...

I do suppose you meant someone else?! True, there could be a problem stocking&selling all products... Needs, besides cash, tech support (from low-level MP IP to Video Door Phones - which is a rather new branch- and to Video Analytics; I'm excluding simple analog and other things that are "daily"). On the other hand, maybe Q-SEE saw the real advantage of DAHUA and they try to be more responsive locally.

For example, we are resellers. We get support from our distribuitor. As I stated, this is happening here (EU). For now, I don't know what's and how's happening there (although ,if I read well the comments, I might get the idea). I don't promote DAHUA as "a holy GOD" of all, but we had some positive responses and features/solutions above mid-level products. As I stated before, they took a pro level ideea to mid-entry. The idea works good, but someone has to fill the gap between pro and mid/entry level. This is the job of the distribuitor/reseller. Since they also sell OEM/ODM (for Q-SEE, QVIS, etc), I can't speak in their name. But that doesn't mean to blame and reject DAHUA...
  17. The filter has a switch(transition) time of about 1/3-1/2 of a second. It's motorized, not electromagnetic, thus making it slower (and i think less prone to get blocked)
  18. No places for rack ears. The 38XX series is rack mountable.

Official distribuitors get support(or, at least, this is what's happening here). For example, we are resellers. We get support from our distribuitor.

Only as a reference: Point of Sale - yes, "sniffer" included for serial & IP protocol - done at device level (DVR/NVR); LPR - yes & ANPR too with trainable engine; this is done at camera level; also traffic control and red light crossing; triggers: radar, loops or IR Barrier Alarm Points and rules? - yes, via device or CMS software; triggers: motion detection, alarm input, video lost, camera blanked Scheduled Backups - yes, via dedicated software for Windows Setup users and groups - yes, at device level; you can hide/give permission for every function it does, including live, backup, configuration, net live, etc "Adjust notifications to certain groups?" - if you mean "log" all it's done in device (like config, net login, motion, alarm, etc) - yes Use Active Directory to authenticate users? - no Of course, there are more, but this means someone needs to study and get specific info about the products.

Not really.... How many times did you buy DAHUA in US (at the US prices) and how many times you bought it from China (at the well-known lower prices)? And this adds to OEM sales & others...

When a brand that has 10 years (at least) on the market and has growing sales, it's kind of hard to think that the reviews/quality is bad. How many low rated/bad products have you seen that lasted 10 years, for example?

And of a printed magazine too... Ever heard of it? I thought it was the first international security paper that had a good point... Is there an international better one?
  24. are you sure 100% they work together?
  25. On a NVR, usually, recording = decoding... So you can't display realtime and record at any other FPS. (that's one of the differences from NTSC/PAL DVRs)
