My small knowledge says like this: if we use a (somekind of) filter that will only permit IR light and will reject any visible light, we'll get an IR image. If we apply that to IR LEDs, we'll get a filter that will not let the visible part pass, but will let the non visible part. And, btw, have you check the film-filter sort of thing? Ever? At least, just for fun?

With all due respect, I posted a solution to IRPASS and filter other light! Exactly the opposite of what you said (I've never said bypassing IR light, solution will let it pass and filter "normal" light). If you tint anything, you will tint the IR spectrum too...

HIK and DAHUA have forked at sometime, that's why they do have similarities still, the user asked about getting the remote to work with his DVR

Get the DVR ID in General Settings (must be a number), get the remote, push the ADD button and Input that ID. It should work after this

Why not using PSS, which is the free dedicated software? Should be faster than any solution

Try to use PSS software (available at dahua's website or on the CD that came with your camera) On Android, use gDMSS dedicated software. Also, what CPU usage do you have on your PC while viewing via IE?

DAHUA's 3216 has 16 alarm inputs and 3 alarm outputs that can be controlled from the SDK, so that might do the trick for your "custom" solution. As from my experience, I would never rely on a PC as a NVR (unless it has a dedicated operating system with a dedicated hardware that has watchdogs and other critical features for a security system) if there is a dedicated system that can do that. Want more channels? Add more NVRs. (if you sum up the costs of additional hardware vs costs of energy, you will get my point). Want a better interface(although DAHUA's DMSS it's one of the best)? Use a proxy server or get a custom solution from someone.

forward using TCP only, not *and* UDP

just my opinion, but if you'ld of used a full DAHUA solution maybe you'ld have passed over more of your problems... for instance, all DAHUA IPC (ip cameras) do support local storage (via microSD) and DAHUA even offers a software for scheduled backup secondly, for 500$/camera you could get a 2MP FullHD Varifocal with IR Bullet DAHUA IP camera (or around) and for 600$ for a NVR... well, if you get a 3216-P you'll get a full solution (a NVR with PoE integrated) with clients for Windows, Linux and Mac and also clients for all mobile devices... no fuss with switches, power supplies etc

you can use some standard power cable (like the one used for 110V). that should do the trick one tip, though: get some power outlet extension and use the power supply directly connected to the camera (just for test) to be sure that your extension cable is the culprit

change the power supply to see what happens also check your connection... did you use additional wires?

the camera controls the lens, so you need a camera with autofocus output and a motorized lens. you can also try to find a camera with zoom and a pan/tilt braket for it. you will also have to look out for communication protocol (to be the same for both, i recommend) and also a lot of stuff that an inexperienced user could have problem with. i recommend you go the integrated PTZ camera way.

IR LEDs do use a lot of power what are the specs of your power supply? and camera rating?

depends on firmware version. better ask directly

true problem usually appears because LCD TVs do some aditional colour/image processing

does your DVR have an Android client? maybe you can use an Android-based Media Player to acces the DVR and output via HDMI.

could be a dual-IR camera, some of the leds for short range and some for long range zoom it completely out, check the LEDS zoom it completely in, check the LEDS any difference?

IR leds do use a lot of power, so maybe that could be the problem also, is the power source the one shipped/recommended by the manufacturer? and when you say 3 of 11...how did you check them?

none that i know of (haven't searched) but bare in mind that colors will be affected too
