  1. So... I've had a look inside the camera working out what core goes where. The lead is a 10 core cable connected to a 12 way female IDC connector coloured as below. 1 - Blue 2 - Orange 3 - Purple 4 - Brown 5 - Black 6 - White 7 - Red 8 - Green 9 - Grey 10 - (Empty) 11 - Yellow 12 - (Empty) Using my multimeter i worked out what cores from the RJ45 socket goes to what... (TIA568A) 1 - White/Orange > 4 - Brown 2 - Orange > 3 - Purple 3 - White/Green > 2 - Orange 4 - Blue > 11 - Yellow 5 - White/Blue > (Not used?) 6 - Green > (Not used?) 7 - White/Brown > (Not used?) 8 - Brown > (Not used?) I've not tried pulling the lead out and creating my own as all the cores seem to have connectors on the end like below... Which keep them in the female connector, i haven't got any so i'll have to leave it for now. Am i right in thinking i only actually need to connect up 2 pairs? Cheers.
  2. Has anyone cut the connector off and extended the flying lead? Or has anyone disconnected the lead from inside the camera and connected a longer lead? The reason i ask is i at the moment i have my cameras mounted on 75x75x40mm junction boxes with the "balun" inside. I want to tidy up the installation so the camera is mounted direct to the wall but the lead isn't long enough to go through my cavity wall. I also do not want to have to drill a 25mm hole to fit the connector through! Is it as easy as disconnecting the lead from the camera and creating a new lead using a female RJ45 connector and a bit of cat5e? Cheers.
  3. Hi, 1. I am powering using a Netgear GS108P PoE switch. 1 camera plugged in only. (I have also tried 2 other GS108P's with same results) 2. I am testing using a a 1m patch lead at the moment, although cables i have made myself and other patch leads have the same result. 3. The camera has been mounted outdoors and it does the same flickering in low light. 4. I have another HFW2100 (in my parents) which is fine with both my wiring and my PoE switch - the camera there is running the same setup flawlessly. The next video is from when i first got the replacement camera and tested it in my parents attic, no lights on at all and it's flickering. http://youtu.be/Gsn5FULO0ho I think i've been extremely unlucky here with these cameras Thanks,
  4. Hi all, I've received my replacement IPC-HFW2100 after my 1st had a problem rebooting and i now have a problem with the infrared LED's flickering Video from camera http://youtu.be/y8vZC0jyx4c Filming the LED's with my phone (ignore the TV!) http://youtu.be/Uu2OoHxIb_0 Is there any way of solving this or do you think this is a fault that warrants returning camera number 2? Thanks
  5. I've tried hard reset on the camera and it's still the same I've dropped the supplier an email this afternoon but not heard anything back as of yet. I don't have a separate power supply at the moment as i was planning on using my PoE switch (Netgear GS108P). I'm going to have to buy a separate power supply to temporarily test it .
  6. I have an 8 way PoE switch, with just the 1 camera plugged in so it shouldn't be a problem with the power supply? I've checked network settings and everything looks right. Logs as below... 7. I've checked the web page and i had already had it set up to reboot once a day at 09:30 (when there should be no illicit activity!) Same as Martin's, my firmware version etc are below. Device Type - IPC-HFW2100 Software Version - 2.100.0000.8.R, build : 2012-05-23 WEB Version - 3.0.0.0 I'm using PSS (which came with the camera) to view. I'm pretty sure the camera is rebooting as it's not contactable on any of its ports, also i have it set up to record on motion detect. It records about 20 seconds after it has started back up (as the image is adjusting to the light) I think i may need a firmware upgrade but i believe they're difficult to get?
  8. Hi Martin, I bought one from ukcctvsystems The picture etc is great, much better than the webcam i was using previously. I have a problem though, the camera reboots every 30 mins, at 42 seconds past the hour and 30 mins 42 seconds past the hour (eg, 15:00:42 & 15:30:42) I wonder if there is a problem with it? Cheers, Pap
  9. Hi Mart, I'm currently in the same situation to yourself, i'm looking to buy 3 IPC-HFW2100's to look over my house & car. I'm also in the UK and the only place i can find them are Alibaba, which i'm not 100% keen about ordering from (due to risk & customs charges). Did you contact adata? Did they have a rebranded version? I asked their Sales on their online help chat and they couldn't tell me if they had them and their website doesn't actually show any IP Cameras? Cheers, Pap
