    Broadcasting CCTV over CATV

That being said, I think you've got the best option going though for what he's trying to accomplish.
  2. It seems very rare that I can get away with using regular splitters on CCTV video signals. Like was said before your impedance and picture go to pot. I've had great success feeding off the mux output into a four channel (or more) modulator to make local channels for the cameras. The only problem i sometimes run into now is using a filter and dropping channels on digital cable and satellite.

    Just A General Price question

been there, done that. I don't know about those cams, but I don't skimp anymore on the camera. It's just to vital on a system to skimp on. I'll pass on jobs if the budget doesn't allow for a good camera. the client will just be let down and will reflect back on you no matter how many times you told them it was a cheap cam. My .02

    Looking for GoeVision distributor

In such a rapidly changing technology, I would't keep that kind of stock on hand at any time. Did anybody get bit when geovision changed card manufacturers and you then couldn't upgrade existing systems?
  5. Another option that might work is to use "multiple desktops" that you get through free power toys from microsoft. just a thought.

Shock Proof PC Case that will fit a Geo Card

http://www.gdcanada.com/land/ruggedized_computer_systems.html Something along this line, only less expensive? I have to tell you about a guy who we came across that made his own "shock resistant" computer by having the whole thing submerged in mineral oil. i am not joking!

    Geovision - strange problem

Thanks for the replies, I'll gather the relevant info.
  10. I'm using a Geovision 8 cam card with seven cams. Everything works great locally. The problem is when I try to view the system remotely. I can see the first four cams great. When i hit "next" the system crashes. It actually shuts the entire program down. I've about had it with this system. Any advice?

    Plasma TVs and CCTV

If you need info on the home theater business, my company did high end low voltage and home theater for the last 6 years.
  12. I've seen those, but correct me if I'm wrong, for a sixteen camera system, would i need 16 of those?

    Plasma TVs and CCTV

As a summary, LCD does NOT burn in, Plasma DOES burn in over time. If you have to use plasma, some have a sort of pixel shift mechanism built in to reduce the possibility of burn in. Another thing you may look at is multiple LCD monitors. Another good bang for the buck.

    Plasma TVs and CCTV

Just another option for "high-end" applications. We found that if your ambient light is low enough in the viewing area, it actually is better bang for the buck to go with a HDTV projector. They have really come down in price and talk about a great size picture!
