  1. Does anyone have any experience with Axxonsoft's Axxon Next VMS software? Benchmark magazine had a favorable mini test of it in their November issue. I'm curious how it compares in the real world with Milestone, Exacqvision, etc. There is a free version for 16 cameras, 1 server, unlimited clients, but it is limited to 1TB of video storage. http://www.axxonsoft.com http://www.axxonnext.com
  2. Does this Samsung let you turn off the integrated IR and use external illuminators exclusively?
  3. Thanks again for your review, I am pretty impressed with the feature set and image quality of the Samsungs and I may have to pick a couple up to test with. Agentchuckles, looks like they provide free central monitoring software called NET-i viewer and also a 4 channel demo version of their recording software, NET-i ware. Not sure what the pricing is like for going beyond the 4 channels.
  4. Question about the Avigilon ACC editions, their website shows that the Core edition does not support Audio Recording. Isn't the camera encoding the audio into the video stream or does ACC do something different?
  5. Great review! Which Axton illuminator did you get? I'm interested in the AT-6E series of PoE illuminators they have and may pick one up to test with.
  6. I am interested in a demo of Avigilon VMS software as well. Thanks.
  7. I'm still doing research. I did run across ACTi's pretty extensive line of IP cameras, going to look at those as well as the AVtechs since they seem to also have the features I'm looking for. For the NVR, I'm leaning towards replacing the Dahua standalone NVR I have now with a software solution. Will take a look at NVR+ and Blue Iris. Any experience with ACTi's NVR 3.0? Also, how is the audio input handled in these cameras, are they just encoded into the video stream or something else? Thanks again.
  8. Do you know if the AVtech cameras will record to a Dahua NVR and do you have any experience their domes, particularly the AVM328A which has PoE? Thanks for your help!
  9. Thank you for the reply, I am mainly looking for indoor cameras with audio/mic input. I do have an IPC-HFW3200C on order that I will test with but the size of that camera will be an issue indoors. The Mobotix are pretty nice but quite a bit more and out of my price range, are there any other brands I should be looking at that have this feature? Thanks again!
  10. Are there any Dahua or comparable (in price and quality) IP cameras that support audio recording along with the video? I picked up some of the Dahua 1.3MP bullet cams and they work great, especially for the price, but I do need several with audio for certain areas. Thanks in advance.
