  1. I have the Swann 7200 (8 channel/4 camera) system from Costco (purchased mid last year I think). I only have one camera setup at the moment - it was fine for the first month or so but now has a severe purple hue to it. I've tried: rebooting the 7200 rebooting the camera (after a lot of effort in trying to get access to them since they are on the recorders network) Any ideas on how to fix it before I call support? Image attached (I hope) of what I'm seeing. Thanks, Matt
  2. Tried thumping, swapping day/night mode, different awb profiles and rebooting the camera all without success. Will swap it out with one of the ones I have not put up yet and see if I can get a replacement from Costco. Image looks fine at night so am guessing it is the IR Filter that is stuck. Regards, Matt
  3. Thanks to all for the tips - will give the easy stuff a go first. We have an 18 month old and I though Barney had infiltrated the camera like he has the bloody tv.
  4. Thanks Max. I know what the IR Filter does, but dont know where it is - internal on the camera or external and what am I thumping? Do I have to do anything after thumping?

I thought about that...but theres too much motion around my house to have it activate the alarm. I am buying a locking cabinet for it though. These are what im getting. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/752352-REG/Video_Mount_Products_DVR_LB1_DVR_LB1_DVR_Lockbox_with.html And a UPS. Just in case some wise ass tries to be smart! http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/533944-REG/APC_SC450RM1U_SC450RM1U_Smart_UPS_Uninterruptible_Power.html Still looking for a wireless vga/hdmi extender w/usb hopefully that doesnt suck ass Thanks for the links - I might do the same. For extending your hdmi - I assume you just want to be able to get the feed elsewhere - try buellwinkle's approach which uses a cheapo android "pc": http://www.networkcameracritic.com/?p=1049 Look in the comments of the above article for some wired network solutions too.

New IP Cam / Costco System

54db seems to be in line with my "real world" analogy of a pc spinning up its fans to full speed to encode video. I looked up my dishwasher specs and it runs at 40db, so probably not a great analogy - sorry. According to Google 60-70db is normal conversation from 1m so as long as any thiefs robbing my place stay close together and are talking normally, they will not hear the NVR recording them I need to find a spot to put this thing so it is not stolen and defeats the purpose of it - anyone hooking these up to alarm systems that are DIY?

I'd be interested in "hearing" how loud other peoples NVR's are - I consider mine too loud to even go into a closet as you can still hear it clearly on the other side of the door - thinking I may have an "extra loud" unit. While testing it was on my counter in the kitchen and the fan was louder than my dishwasher - seems comparable to a desktop pc spinning up all its fans when you're encoding video.

    Dahua cameras now at Costco

Just read this entire thread (glad it got back on topic ). This system seems to be what I've been holding out for - might need to hold out a little longer for the 8 camera system - I only want 4 cameras but the ability to add more later - only way to do that seems to be to get the $500 8 camera stand-alone nvr from amazon and 2 sets of cameras from Costco for a total of $1100 - I'd prefer to get everything from Costco due to their return policy. Someone mentioned buying two 4 camera systems which would accomodate 8 cameras. Does that mean I'd need to login to two different interfaces to view cameras once I had more than 4 though? Not sure how I cam across it but costco is selling the 1080p dome cameras as part of a 4 camera kit - buried in their office section - showing as $919 for me, so $19 to bump up to a single 1080p camera: Item #999186 http://www2.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11773089&whse=BD_823&Ne=4000000&eCat=BD_823|9932|91793|22015&N=4049643&Mo=5&No=0&Nr=P_CatalogName:BD_823&cat=22015&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-US&Sp=C&hierPath=9932*91793*22015*&topnav=national
