    Advise on new security system

Good to know. Then go for HD analog system, HD-TVI, HD-CVI, or HD-AHD cameras and DVRs, whcih can be done under U$500. Cameras of 720P or 1080P are already at the bottom price. These systems also support analog cameras, as well. Why pay more.
  2. As long as both are hooked on the Network, the chances are the same, at least to me.

    Best HD IP security camera's?

Yes you are correct, my bosses at dahua, hikvision, costco, amazon, newegg etc, give me direct orders. They tell me to fight china spammers like you. Again, as usual you are off topic. Stop giving bad advice to end users. Read my posts more carefully so you learn something. I beg you to buy an IP camera just for testing, one 720p one 1080p and one 4mp. Its clear you never used or owned any ip cameras and are only exposed to the low end D1 cameras your junk china company sells. Nobody wants your intentionally misleading and false advice. Not sure why the moderators have not removed you as simply a china spammer. Do not try to get out of a direct focus. This one does not prove that you are not peddler of 4MP ip camera.

    Best HD IP security camera's?

The orginal poster likes to have a 5MP or more pixels. But I am wondering why a poor peddler has to keep on promoting 4MP cameras. Probably directed by his boss????

    Hardwired System-Help needed

There is no trouble with spot monitoring with 2mp of 4mp. Im convinced that you dont understand what spot monitoring means. TVI is transitional technology and should not be installed in a new installation. Its 2015 not 2005. I do not need to prove anything to a poor peddler of Hikvision 4MP IP Camera.

    Hardwired System-Help needed

If you should go for IP cameras, go for 2MP -IP Cameras. Not 4MP version, more expensive for nothing. You may be highly likely to get into troubles for spot monitoring of 8 Channels simultaneously. As another option for Hikvision that you have to choose, you may look into the HD-TVI (analog HD) X 8 Ch X 1080P -system (1 DVR and cameras) for less than U$ 500.

    Best HD IP security camera's?

I dont think you understand the English language......a higher megapixel count is not always better however it depends on the application and depends on the BRAND and specific model. My point was that 5mp junk camera is not necessarily better than a 1080p camera from a reliable brand. A 1080p dahua/hikvision will ALWAYS have a higher pixel per inch count than a 720p camera(PPI). Stop denying it. It is FACT. But according to you, lets all go back to D1 low res because the sensors is EXACTLY the same as a 4mp camera. LOL NOT. We have youtube here. Sorry if your government in china banned youtube for you. Must suck. Proof is in the video. End of story! Busted! Sorry if china blocked the video for you... Megapixel has pretty much become a marketing gimmick in equating superior image quality which it isn't. It is just one component of it. There are other things such as compression that is also part of it. So in short it is how it is handled and processed rather than higher megapixel count. In vast majority of cases 2-3MP is sufficient. This is the guy who keeps on promoting ip cameras up to 4MP. He seems not to be allowed to promote 5MP camera, yet. That's why the 5MP IP cameras should be called junks, for the time being. But soon enough, he would be allowed to start promoting 5MP cameras. Then all others would be called Junks. My opinion is better going for 720P or 1080p in 4~5 years, till UHD monitors and cameras getting popular.
  8. These cameras have it corrected lenses.. That is not the issue. Op post an image... It is likely ir reflection or you need to increase noise reduction and disable wdr at night As to poor night performance, letting alone IR, that's one of the points CMOS image sensor has been improving on. Still a lot to go. As to CMOS sensors, Low light (Night) may cause video quality more affected by the inherent electrical noise level. Therefore, Noise Reduction is needed. But Increasing Noise Reduction may cause a video a bit more blurred. Turning on WDR may intensify noise level. Turn off WDR at night. Yes, you need to tune those parameters.
  9. I agree to"longstory". 960H has become very cheap & worth of your every cent... You do not need HighEnd IP Cameras. You do not need to bring on Cannon when you need to skill a roach. Why pay more?

Which system to go for IP vs TVI?

Cameras can be either set to 30FPS or 60 FPS, whatever max number, but the NVRs, in order to cover multi channels, have to be FPS limited Hardwarewise / or Softwarewise, a must limiting factor. Zoom in advantage? How good they could marginally be better, in spite of losing FPS. Mostly monitors would be limited to 1080P resolution, for a while. You better place cameras of good quality lens, at choke points. The Higher FPS or Higher Clock Rate or Higher Processing leads to More Electrical Heating. Less Number Of Frames could need more compressional bits for its motion compensation, leading to loss of compression efficiency. Ask the specialist near you for more details in English. Software CPU means for PC Based NVR. All of These cannot be done without burning electrical power (Watts). As to Lie 3, so claimed, please Google OV16850 from omnivision, you would find the very same sensor are used for 720P cameras and for 16MP -Full UHD 60FPS cameras. I explained this fact almost 10 times already. Your youtube things, bra-brahs, are not convincing at all. If True, there would be not many TV makers, each claiming the best video quality among all other makers. Whys? There are no ojective criterion for video quality. Sorry any one of your claims can not be based on. You may ask for more knowledges from other specialists near you. They would help you to understand CCTV systems, Goods or Uglies or Bads.

Which system to go for IP vs TVI?

Almost all Everybody likes to have 30FPS for recording and monitoring, but not possible due to limitations from Hardware or Software. They had to be forced to go for lower Frame Rate Per Second. And most moniotrs are limited to HD1080P. The image sensors used for 3MPs to 16MPs are the same for 720P or 1080P cameras. Why pay more? Those IP Cameras of 3MPs or above are presenting a lot challenges, HDD spaces, Software CPU, Harware Chipsets, Heats, Power Dissipations, etc. Why paying more. Simply go for HD-CVI/HD-TVI/HD-AHD. These cameras are as good as analog cameras in terms of your precious dollar.

Which system to go for IP vs TVI?

Bozman, You may check out Costco under U$400, for either HDTVI or HDCVI. Ask Boogieman for the link. Big difference from IP systems of U$2000, which Boogieman stated. I do not think any standalone NVR can do decode and de-compresss 16 Ch X 1080PX 30FPS, simultaneously for spot monitoring needed for certain managers. I do not understand why some body has to push IP cameras. That's sad.
  13. SunnyKim

Which system to go for IP vs TVI?

Bozman, I mostly agree to your understanding on TVI system and IP System. I would go for TVI system, because it is cheap, and cable length is not a issue. For those managers, IP system becomes tough and expensive to make realtime spot monitoring of 12 Cameras, with High Performance PC (Not free Software) or an expensive NVR. Cheap NVRs can not decompress more than Max 4 Channels, simultaenously for spot monitoring display.
  14. SunnyKim

    Multiple Display Outputs

You may try and confirm it. To me, they would show the same picture. Showing different cameras in different configurations would cost a lot bandwidth. So in general, not allowed by its chip set makers.
  15. Any signal on HDMI cable can not go that far.
  16. Buy one more NVR that has HDMI output, probably costing a lot less.
  17. It may not be easy to manage out 32 Channels of 2MPs, not even 3MPs, 4MPs, to come.... But true is that the image sensor is the same for 16 MPs and 720P. Google out & Read "OV16880" from OmniVision. I mean True Resolution Fidelity is the same. But camera makers know they can get more money as numbering of mega pixels gets higher. But the back end processing for those higher number of Mega Pixels would be overloaded and unstable for a limited CPU capacity(NVR or PC), presenting lots of troubles and challenges. My opinion is to start with 720P(1 MP camera), already very cheap. Or you keep posting this topic for the advices from the right persons who already experienced with similar systems, say, Avigilon, AXIS, BlueIris, etc.

Help Needed CCTV for my Building

There is NO need to playback 16 in 1080p..the space on the screen is too small to see the difference. 100 dollars to you (thats probably one months salary for you) via paypal if you can explain why in the world I need 1080p x16 playback if im using a regular 24"-50" monitor/tv? Makes no sense. You keep saying that like its a good thing, its not. Do you undestand that when the image is small, like when a screen is divided into 16, you dont need full res? How is d1 any better? Its low RES ALL THE TIME AND YOU CANNOT ZOOM IN on D1. Last month you were ranting and raving that D1 is the same sensor as 720p. Make up your mind. My point was that this unit can playback all 16 channels at once via the substream. Then if you need more detail you can bring it full screen and zoom in. With D1 you CANNOT zoom in, it looks like crap. Listen to me very carefully, I could care less about your objections. I have already demonstrated that there is a difference between 720p and 3mp/4mp. You can rant and rave from china all day here, but one look at this video and everyone can see you have NO clue. You can rant and rave all the way from china, but we can see with our own eyes. The "problems" you listed to are non existent and completely fabricated. I dont think you understand what a crime is. There is NO perceptible increase in power consumption ...my dahua 3mp cameras draw UNDER 3w during the day. There is no extra heat (even if there was who cares). Monitor resolution is not improtant, you keep making this same amateur mistake over and over. You can benefit from 4mp even with a vga monitor. FYI here in the US everyone uses 1080p monitors...get with the times. There are no hardware compatibility issues. There are no reduced frames 1080 can be had at 30fps and 3/4mp at 20, which is WAY more than needed and WAY more than many analog junk systems can produce. Please stop making things up. Its is VERY obvious that you dont have an understanding of IP technology and security in general. Please stop spreading your nonsense. So I will say this again, if you cannot explain the youtube video and what I see with my own eyes every DAY, I have 720p, 1080p, 3mp and 4mp cameras, then you need to go learn a thing or two. Sunny, I will keep pointing out your lies until the mods ban you. This nonsense has gone too far. STOP recommending D1 for system upgrades, its malpractice. Most monitoring needs playback 16 Channels in realtime, specially Vegas. Ask Vegas why they are not installing IP cameras as fast as you like to see. Video Analytics, Object Tracking, Motion Detection in a more robustic way. Simultaneous Decoding 16 Ch X 1080P X 30 FPS Main Streams It is a joke to spot your clumsy logic in order to promote 4MP camera, stopping 5MP camera. That's sad to see in the following thread : viewtopic.php?f=5&t=48027

Help Needed CCTV for my Building

The link is for Cantek not Costco. No way to return the product if you found that realtime decoding of main stream (1080P X30FPSX16Ch) can not be done. As long as you are not promoting 3MPs/4MPs/5MPs IP cameras, I have No Objection to you. As said, these cameras are based on the same image sensor as 720P or 1080P. They just increased number of pixels, without improving a true resolution fidelity, simply for charging more money. These suffer very low performance under low lighted conditions. In addtion, these creates lots of problems, say, reduced number of frames, audio lipsync, monitor resolution & size, storage space, heats, power consumptions, software / hardware compatibility issues. Without commenting these can be a crime. Please do not be upset against me.
  20. Do you really think anybody here cares about your "objection" ? No objection to you, either.
  21. XGSound, No objection to the fact with U$500 you could be equipped with HD1080P 8 Ch system.

Help Needed CCTV for my Building

Its not tough at all. First i think you have a basic misunderstanding of spot monitoring...this can be done with any NVR. As far as simultaneous playback, there are lots of NVR's that can do 16ch simultaneous playback, though I dont see the need for it. I have never seen anyone use that function. Remember this is for a building association..they will not be sitting there reviewing footage every day...this is to record in case an incident occurs...remember always look at the needs of the end user, this is a common rookie mistake. D1 and 960H should not be considered at all. Makes no sense. Funnyboy, I do not agree that any NVR or DVR could playback(simultaneous decompressing) 16 Ch X 1080P for spot monitoring. I would appreciate if you kindly provide the model that can do that. It is OK if you list up very expensive solutions. Tricks could be to decompress subtreams not main streams, I know.

Help Needed CCTV for my Building

It is tough to decompress 16 Ch X 1080P simultaneously for spot monitoring, if you go for IP camera system. If there is such one, it could be expensive. If your old system is CIF based, you may change your DVR to a new one, capable of recording D1 or 960H for each camera. Those DVRs would cost you less than U$100. But you do not still like the video quality, you may upgrade to HD 720P system. HD -analog such as HD-CVI, or HD-TVI or HD-AHD could be your choice. The cameras can be as cheap as analog cameras. Such DVRs(HD-Analog) can support your old analog cameras. Therefore, you can save some analog cameras at certain locations. The reason I am not recommending 1080P (HD -Analog Systmes) is that the system could be expensive for playbacking 16 Ch X 1080P simultaneously, but not for 16Ch X 720P.

    Best HD IP security camera's?

You are making an incorrect assumption that more megapixels means its a better camera.Start reading the forum..the best camera depends on your needs. Boogieman, you took my words. Wooops I got wrong. You have to promote 4MP, not 5MP, Poorman.
