Dude they are like $40. They are at every distributor, Tamron and Fujinon have had them for years. Basically if you are looking for lower F:stop VF lenses they will typically be in the 3-8mm range. In fact the Fujinon F:0.95 one has been pretty much the same for the past 10 years except it dropped in price and now they have IR models, the Tamron models are IR also. BTW thought you were talking about fixed board lenses, dont know anyone that still buys fixed CS lenses let alone distributors have almost stopped selling them all together since VF lens prices are so cheap now.
-
Normally its the other way around, with easy to find varifocal lenses in the F:095/F:1.0 range, and fixed lenses typically F:1.2 and up.

If it were the AI on a M13 lens (eg. Bullet or Dome) i could help test that as I have a bunch of those lenses here with broken IRIS .. (self inflicted while messing with the IR cuts). No full lenses lying around to dissect though, they are very different from the M13's as far as the AI goes.

Mozilla Firefox Firefox plugin How to use the Firefox plugin Mobile Phones Mobile phone support list iPhone/iPod/iPad (itunes) iPhone/iPod/iPad DMSS (Free) iPhone/iPod/iPad DMSS Pro iPhone DMSS User Manual Android Android DMSS 1.51.0 (25/05/10) Android DMSS 1.55.3 (08/03/11) Android DMSS 4ch Audio (20/05/11) Android DMSS User Manual Blackberry Blackberry DMSS 1.52 (10/01/11) Blackberry DMSS 5.0 (27/01/11) Blackberry DMSS 5.0 (13/05/11, for post April 2011 DVR firmware:) Blackberry DMSS User Manual Symbian Symbian DMSS 1.52.0 (09/09/10) Symbian3 DMSS 1.53.0 (25/03/11) Nokia OpenC patch (if errors with 1.53) Symbian DMSS User Manual Windows Mobile Windows Mobile DMSS 1.21.6 (03/02/10) Windows Mobile DMSS 1.22.1 (03/09/10) Windows Mobile DMSS User Manual Regarding PSS you can setup tasks for your clients which auto login with Extra or Main stream (like groups which auto load all cameras), and even make it portable so they never have to install, and just email them a link to download a single self extracting executable (winXP includes free software called ieexpress which is like win rar's SFX). See this article for an example of the tasks and skins. http://www.bahamassecurity.com/articles/dahua-pss-skins.asp And a detailed thread here on tweaking PSS viewtopic.php?f=3&t=23702 Also see the following thread about DSS. Your client would only need the client software and when they log into the DSS server (eg. your pc) with their user name a list of DVRs assigned to them appear in the device list. They can then just double click the DVRs to connect and drag and drop them to the video boxes, or again you can setup DSS clients with tasks already setup for them, or they can download task and XML files preconfigured for them, there are lots of options. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=25886 With PSS, DSS or IE something has to be installed either way, so they have to be logged in as an Admin during the initial installation. BTW word from Dahua is IE9 is not supported yet but they should have a new firmware next month which addresses that.

Avermedia is hardly an American (USA) brand, its from Taiwan (China) Amazingly some of the best DVRs are coming out of China now, while American (USA) brands OEM from them and rebadge it, then claim its made in the USA.

Pinhole will limit the lens view plus not as available from resellers as the regular board lens. Here are the actual part numbers and specs: KPC-S190S (420TVL, BW, 0.05 Lux) KPC-S190SH (600TVL, BW, 0.1 Lux) KPC-EX190SWX (420TVL, BW Exview, 0.003 Lux) KPC-EX190SH (600TVL, BW Exview, 0.03 Lux) The 600 Exview is a nice all around one, covers low light and is high res (somewhat), but its the most expensive model. The Exview models are just options of the S190. I also just recently used their High Res Color bullet in a stairway in one of the clubs, where they have some lighting.

No cant adjust it by hand. Its a collection of thin curved blades, internally. Its not possible to manually adjust it with your hands as its inside the lens, and it would likely damage it. The lens would need to have its own level for adjustment (manual iris lens) or the camera would need to provide an electronic iris. One might be able to cut the wire and then trigger it manually somehow but I cant say for certain and thats more work (=money) than just buying a manual iris lens. Auto Iris Eg http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-3160510/stock-photo-aperture-blades.html
-
Yes, just remove the pieces that make up the iris, or cut or leave the cable disconnected (never tried that personally). However your camera must support electronic/manual IRIS or it will be white out in the day time. What type of lens is it? On what type of camera?

Our government FINALLY dropped the customs duty on CCTV equipment, they say it is now duty free, though I am a little skeptical since the customs dept here seem to make up their own duties half the time. Ofcourse there are other fees as well like stamp tax, government handling fees, etc.

I use the KT&C mini bullets (Black housings), Black and white models for indoors as the clubs are dark here. We use the 420TVL lower res ones as they see more in low light than the 600TVL ones, and although I tried to get it last time some of them were ordered but the distributor sent the wrong ones, the better one is their Exview low res, for the ultimate low light without IR. Actually we used a mixture of them on the last order because they sent us 3 different ones (420TVL, 600TVL, and 600TVL exview) and all did work. For outside and the door you can use any good color camera if there is enough light, or day night, vandal dome perhaps.

By this same argument, buying a Hummer is cheaper than buying a Jeep Liberty. BTW: Example Residential/Retail 1x MP Camera $600, 1xPC for NVR $500, 1x100' Cat5 Cable $50, 1xGB POE Switch $200 = $1250 +Labour for networking and setup of IP camera and Switch+Training (if client even computer literate) 4x Color IR Cameras $200, 1xDVR $250, 4x100' RG59 Siamese $140, 1x12VC 1.5a Power Supply $15, 8x BNC @ $1 ea $8 = $613 +Basic setup (DVR setup in less than 3 minutes, plug, play and record) Labour for both will vary, but with cheap Color IR anyone can basically screw them up on the wall and they have no real adjustments besides twist and turn ... its so easy a caveman can do it Now, with the 4 cameras you have 4 areas covered instead of just one with the MP camera, although lower resolution so you cant see the mole on the perps face. But most people buy based on how much something costs, not what they want or need (or lets face it everyone would have the best vehicles and largest beach front homes), and if positioned properly in many cases the lower res cameras do provide good enough evidence to capture the perp, even if some digital enhancements are required. Even if all of us Professionals were to move to IP cameras today and never touch another analog camera, the analog camera will still have the market as people are essentially cheap, as long as the cheaper product is out there, they will buy it even if it means installing it themselves. So IMO the selling points for IP cameras should never be about cost .. it should however be about better quality video, more cross OS and cross browser support, expandability, system integration, upgrades, and management. -

Cool Never heard of that format .. glad you got it sorted out. -
Although .. they could always just buy the 940nm IR to begin with. Although its not as easily available for lower priced gear like bullet cameras.

I agree with him on alot of the IP related topics but he lost me on the monitor stuff and then it seems like he was trying to turn this forum into his own personal blog ...I dont mind him coming back and contributing as we all have opinions, but he should make some changes in the way he posts or they will once again get deleted as spam. As a moderator he was not making my job easy. That said, others that posted were not completely without blame either, neither am I without fault, we are all only human and emotions tend to get the best of us sometimes.

Something like a dual CCD camera where the color camera is for day and the BW is for night, the BW in some cases only needs the IR light such as where its pitch dark at night, although normally they use an IR pass filter which doesnt block all the visible light out. So ... nevermind my bad ..
-
Wont that work both ways though? Such as the light going into the camera? (if its an IR camera) Also if the IR is 730nm or higher looks like it wont block that, which is the glow you get from those 730-840nm IR? Seems as if they are just to block all visible light going into a camera, such as with an IR only camera (eg. separate daytime camera or filter removed during the day).

yeah on a Saturday night Sorry power was off here, thats 3 times in 24 hours. They are turning the sports center over to our government, who then would hire someones cousins uncles sons brother to install some mickey mouse cameras and give the person in charge a big kickback.. . Therefore we dont normally waste our time with the government, they use us in most cases. Plus it can take years to get paid and they only pay a 10% deposit on the jobs. But then again, the Chinese might have an issue with using that Camera anyway, as its not made in China right? They built the Sports Center for free to get some leverage over our country. Next they are rebuilding a long main road here. They bring in everything from China for the work, down to the screws and wall plugs. But its still worth extra thought, I will speak to someone that has an connection in the Government to see what the deal is. Could take a few days before I know more.

What model is the DVR? Some of them have HDD Download software where you can take out the drive and put it in a PC then run the software to save what you want to your PC. Also make sure you have the codecs installed so it can play in Media Player or other, although some use proprietary codecs that wont even allow that. Depends on the DVR.
-
Yes would be great for Sport Centers like that. Thats a special application. Problem is there is only 1 in this country and the Chinese Government is building it. Although with this camera they would still need more than one of them to cover all angles.
-
Actually it was the other way around. We evolved to capture cards as the software and hardware got better.

http://www.dallmeier-electronic.com/fr/produits-electronic/cameras/modeles/panomera.html Bottom line is it still cant see around objects which makes it useless for most CCTV applications.
