  1. Attempting to wire up a PSU for a PTZ but the screw terminals on the PSU have no + or - indication, whereas the screw terminals for the power on the PTZ do have + and - indications. How do I know which screw terminal to connect the wires to on the PSU? Uploaded with ImageShack.us

    PSU wiring

Normally this is AC24v output transformer . The PTZ dome also needs AC24v .(please check your manual of PTZ ) there is no + or - to PTZ Philip Philip.HDview@gmail.com Yes this is a 24vac psu and the ptz also requires 24vac. The thing I do not understand is that the pigtail from the camera has a + and - for the power screw terminals, the psu has no + or - indication on the terminals so I presume I just wire it up whichever way?
  3. Hi, I ordered a Bosch UPA-2450-50 Power Supply for a Bosch Vez-400 Mini PTZ but I have been sent a Bosch UPA-2420-50 by mistake. My question is whether this PSU will power my PTZ with full operating capabilities or not? UPA-2450-50 specs: Input 230 VAC, 50 Hz Output 24 VAC, 50 VA UPA-2420-50 specs: Input 220-240 V, 50 Hz Output 24 V, 20 VA User manual states: "The camera unit accepts 24 VAC power only. Do not connect 120 V OR 230 V to this camera!", Power Requirements: Adaptor 24 VAC, 1A (2.5A with heater) Power Consumption: 24 VAC, 850mA / 20W (without heater) 24 VAC, 2A / 43 W (with heater) Will it work fully or should I return it?
  4. Check the resolution settings on the dvr OSD. I had a problem a couple of weeks ago. The DVR was defaulted at 1920 x 1080 which was causing me to get an "out of range" prompt on a HD Ready tv. Changed it to 1024 x 768 and this resolved it.

    Mini PTZ suggestions

Hi, Looking for help finding a Mini PTZ which preferably does tracking of moving objects and with a smoked dome though these are not essential. It will be for outdoor use and must be capable of surface mounting as I want to mount it to the soffit similar to my fixed vandal domes. Suggestions welcome. Thx

    Mini PTZ suggestions

Wanted to ask peoples opinion on this Bosch Mini PTZ. It is quite small which I like but I just have a couple of Qs. I am leaning toward the tinted bubble version - will that affect picture quality during day/night? It states 3.49 - 104.02mm lens with 26X Effective Optical Zoom and 10X Digital Zoom - What sort of distance should I be able to see with that? License plate at around 50m? At the bottom of the PDF it states different model numbers for PAL and NTSC versions. I am having difficulty finding an online dealer in Europe so will it make any difference if I order the NTSC model thru an American store? I presume that the camera will have the same 3 connections (Power, Video and RS485) and still work thru my PAL Sony Bravia in UK? I noticed that it has no IRs but understand that not all cameras require these to see at night - according to the specs will this do a good picture at night? Overall is this a good quality mini ptz? http://www2.boschsecurity.us/advantageline/datasheets/datasheets/VEZ-400_Mini_PTZ_Dome_Datasheet_51_en_2487393419.pdf
  7. Hi, I tried that with port 25, 0, 465 and 587 with no joy. I did notice however that user name and sender turned grey when I attempted to do it with port 0 which they never done on any other occasion but I still received the error message. I presume the problem is that the ports are closed. EDIT: The greying out is actually just got to do with ticking the anonymous box.
  8. Hi, I am attempting to setup email notifications on my iZeus HD (Dahua) but for some reason I cannot open port 25, 465 nor 587 on my router. I am using smtp.gmail.com and entering the various ports on each attempt. Using a Linksys router and am re-starting the router each time I save the settings after entering the ports which I want open. I keep receiving "mail test error" when I hit the test button on the DVR email setup page. The ports are closed. I have opened 37777 TCP, 99 HTTP (80 would not open) and 554 RTSP. I have also entered the details of my Dyn DDNS on the DDNS page and am using port 99 though 80 was the default but as I already mentioned it would not open. I have downloaded the iApollo app for iPhone and can view my cameras by entering http://publicIP as the address and 37777 as the port along with my user and password but the problem is that my Public IP obviously changes. Do I just replace http://publicIP with my Dyn alias and port 99 instead of 37777?
  9. PM sent. I have sorted the Dyn DNS iphone issue now.
  10. Hi, Trying to connect a QVIS I-ZEUSHD to my Sony Bravia. I live in Europe so I operate Pal. I have the box connected to the tv via HDMI but I cannot see anything. I keep receiving the message "out of range". I have tried connecting the box to my tv via VGA and it only partially works. The screen keeps sliding left to right and it is appearing 640 X 480 / 60. That 60 had me thinking NTSC. Anyway, does someone have a suggestion how to rectify this? I really want to hook this up via HDMI and according to the specs it should definitely work. http://www.adata.co.uk/files/fda8bd0e-4349-455d-8e4f-a0bb00ebff8f/I-ZEUSHD_4CHN_V2.pdf EDIT: I tried connecting it to a newer Sony Bravia downstairs and both the HDMI and VGA are working perfect on that one! The first tv is not full 1080P, only goes 720p/1080i. Not sure if the newer one downstairs is full 1080P or not, but even still, surely the picture should show on 1080i and also how does the VGA not properly respond?
  11. Hi, Will a security floodlight interfere with my dome cameras IR and distort the picture should it be activated?
