  1. I've recently been locking down my home network and doing a little bit of traffic management. I noticed that my DVR was trying to connect to the above IP via UDP. Doing an IP lookup shows me that this a Telecom's company in China. Either this is something that's embedded or some how my DVR has been hacker. It maybe worth checking your firewall log's if you have one of the DVR systems made in China. Like most people have found these systems have Telnet available but no login details, so this should be a route into your network.

I have one of these also. Although I've not done much in the way of setup it appears to work OKish for me. Maybe you need to fine tune your requirements. You may need to increase the sensitivities and adjust the area being scanned, which you will need to do by login on directly to the unit and not over a network connection. It could also be the hard drive you have installed, I had an old 40Gb drive laying around so have used that for testing and it doesn't couple well. Ordered a bigger faster drive, so will see if that changes things any. Cheers Garry
  3. I've recently bought myself a CCTV system which has a DVR unit like this one; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4Ch-Standalone-H-264-Realtime-CCTV-Surveillance-Security-DVR-Record-System-/280909691933?pt=UK_Gadgets&hash=item416785bc1d Having searched the forum I've been able to find some useful information about it but have what will no doubt turn out to be a few questions. The first is about the telnet access, I see a lot of people have asked about this but all of the advise I've read on default user and password don't seem to work for me. Has anyone cracked this one yet? I have plans to integrate my system into my central media centre so I can view the cameras from any TV in the house. At the moment there is a work around in place but was hoping for a more stable solution and therefore wanted to have a poke around the OS to see what could be done. More than happy to explain further but that may take us off topic a little. Thanks Garry
