  1. Hi. Now it's in Japanese hands that was the first thing they said they would do. Be interesting to see if they do a software for the old German made cameras Not possible with software only upgrade as Mobotix has upgraded the processing hardware on the new camera line to accommodate h.264, wish it was that easy. 2. Does any one here have any experience with Avigilon cams? We do alot of Mobotix projects in Houston but have not dealt with Avigilon as of yet. Would like to hear some user experiences and how they compare with Mobotix products. Thanks! Ilan EOS Digital Services Houston
  3. Does anyone here have Hik cameras recording to a Qnap NAS? I've been having issues with cameras that will stop recording after a few days and not sure how to resolve this. If you do have this setup, can you tell me how you have the network share configured? Thanks
  4. I would look at the Mobotix Q25 6MP camera. We've installed many of these and they are solid and reliable with extensive configuration options. These are German built cameras and the software is in a different league compared with the Chinese brands. EOS Digital Services Houston, TX
  5. I have a couple of the DS-2CD2532 mini domes installed along with an Axis cam. I've got some html code that will display the cameras live video embedded in a webpage but can't seem to get the Hikvisions working. Does anyone know the http streaming path to these cameras? I managed to get a still image by using the following path: ipaddress/Streaming/channels/1/picture but obviously I'm looking for a live video feed. I got this working in Firefox but not in IE. If anyone can point me to the live video http path i'd greatly appreciate it.
  6. Wondering if anyone here has heard of or used Veilux cameras? I've recently come across them and they are based in Dallas where they also manufacture. Would be interested to know how they stack up against the competition as I have not personally evaluated them.

    Mobotix

I'm assuming you mean MX Control Center. Yes, it does support other ip cams as long as they have an mjpeg stream. EOS Digital Services Houston, TX
  10. I have the Geovision CAW220 and the image quality is stellar, really impressed with this little camera. I think you should give it a try. The one drawback is the not so easy setup, you may have a call or two into support before you have it working to your liking. EOS Digital Services Houston, TX

    Gated community gate cams

I second the Ubiquiti solution. We just completed an apartment community with 12 3MP cameras using Nano M's, works great and we've had no issues whatsoever. Ilan EOS Digital Services
  12. It's been 3 years in the making, surely they couldn't screw this up could they? EOS Digital Services Security-Access-Automation Houston
  13. The Mobotix iOS app is finally out....has anybody had a chance to try it? Ilan EOS Digital Services Houston
  14. For anyone who's installed a Mobotix T24 and used the SIP funcionality (calling out to a cell phone for example), did you go with hosted solution or something like an Epygi PBX? I've gone the hosted route but found it to be hit or miss as far as calling into and out of the camera. If hosted, which host did you go with? Thanks Ilan EOS Digital Services Security-Automation-Access Houston

    Messoa

Very good, thanks. My distributor carries Messoa and thinks highly of them, maybe you did get a lemon. They seem to have a pretty extensive line. I'll keep diggin'. Ilan EOS Digital Services
  16. Anyone here use Messoa cameras? Seems like I'm finding a new camera brand twice a day and it's a bit overwhelming. Where would these rate compared to Axis or ACTI? EOS Digital Services Houston Edit: Meant to ask about Messoa, not Brickcom.
  17. Agree, we've never had issues with Mobotix hardware, they have been rock solid. I like your remote setup deal, interested in learning more.
  18. The reason I asked about Avigilon is simply because I was looking at Mobotix competition, not necessarily because Mobotix doesnt make a good product, but for me, I always like to stay on top of industry trends and if another company comes along and delivers a better product and better customer service, I owe it to my customers and to my business to take a deeper look. I think the criticisms of Mobotix are well known on this forum, be it the agonizingly slow product introduction, the user-unfriendly software or the lack of customer support. However, the functionality of these cameras, when properly configured, is probably second to none. So yes, it looks like Mobotix needs to wake up and realize they're not the only game in town and the competition is speeding ahead......before it's too late.
  19. Thanks for the great reply. I think that sums up nicely the main differences between the 2 systems. I will definitely reach out to Avigilon to learn more about their products and possibly buy one to play around with.

    Cube Cameras

Whats a typical scenario where you'd use a cube camera? I came across a Messoa NCC800 http://www.messoa.com/global/product/index.aspx?id=226 and was wondering why one would go with cube vs dome or bullet?
  21. Educate me! What makes Avigilon that much superior? Does Avigilon include features such as PIR, integrated SIP, onboard storage? Thanks for the input, Ilan EOS Digital Services Houston
  22. I would definitely look at a Mobotix camera as these are designed for harsh temps (they have one mounted with a view of Everest) and have local recording to SD card, as well as excellent resolution for what you'll be needing. You'll probably have to go wireless with ethernet to wireless bridge. Look here: http://www.mobotix.com/eng_US/content/view/full/1551 IS
