    FWIW, I just successfully connected a q-see qcn8004b camera to the swann 16 ch nvr. Took a while to get this right. I changed the password from the 888888 user to pw 12345, Connected the camera directly to the router (no poe connection would work for me either and I got tired of tinkering with it) Use port 85 on the onvif settings. It took a good 10-20 seconds of black screen then connected. I haven't tried the qcn7001b yet to see if it can use the same onvif connection.. I will try that next.

    Did the firmware theories die? I would be willing to try to flash firmware on my 804

    FWIW, the 804 is $100 less on amazon than the 808
