  1. I was browsing Costco Canada and I came across this one here: http://www.costco.ca/Lorex%c2%ae-4-channel-High-Definition-Digital-NVR-with-1TB-HDD-%2526-2-HD-1080p-Weatherproof-Cameras.product.100115634.html It says: Wall mount required for outdoor installation in a sheltered location (recommended) Model: LNR341C2B So my question is, if I put this camera outside, I would need a wall mount? Can't I use the existing wall mount? If not, where can I purchase this said wall mount?
  2. If you have the choice to pick either one, which would you choose and why? I am debating to think which one should I choose for my garage and entrance door. I am looking for something that's not wide, need full angle. Which one here is reliable of the remake? Swann™ 8-Channel HD NVR with 2TB HDD and 4 1080p HD Cameras $1,049.99 http://www.costco.ca/Swann%E2%84%A2-8-Channel-HD-NVR-with-2TB-HDD-and-4-1080p-HD-Cameras.product.100042455.html Lorex® 8-channel High-Definition Digital NVR with 2TB HDD & 4 HD 1080p Weatherproof Cameras $999.99 http://www.costco.ca/Lorex%c2%ae-8-channel-High-Definition-Digital-NVR-with-2TB-HDD-%2526-4-HD-1080p-Weatherproof-Cameras.product.100085403.html
  3. I am looking at Costco NVR and I came across Swann (they took it out somehow), Q-See and Lorex. I heard some of their cameras are rebadged such as Hikvision, Dahua, etc. In terms, which one is most reliable and have best performance? I want to make sure I don't make the wrong decision. I notice these camera doesn't work by itself and you need a NVR to run it. Kind of strange.
  4. Say that the NVR is in one corner of the house and I want it to stream it on my living room TV which is in the other side of the house. I don't think I can have them station together. Is there a way to get it output on each of my home's TV and PC? Would you think I will be able to connect the ethernet from NVR to router then buy a device (I don't know what it is) and have it output to my TV? I am not sure of such existent. All I know is my NVR will be stationed alone and I need to find a way to get it display on all TV or PC in my home or atleast my living room.
  5. I will be installing IP Camera to my residential home where one camera is outside of my garage bricks, one inside garage and one at my side door entrance. How do I route these cables to the inside of my living room or my house without drilling an exposed hole? I don't want to damage my foundation so how do you professional route this cable into the house?
  6. Swann does not work without a NVR. You cant just buy a PoE and connect the Swann seperately. I've tried and failed to conclude that it doesn't work at all.
  7. Okay just followed what u said and I still don't see the IP address on the router. I heard it a reset/restart click sound and infrared led lights up. Very odd.
  8. I bought the Swann 1080p 2 Pack HD NVR IP Bullet Cameras again because the first pair were defected and now this time, it's not showing the IP address when plugged to router/switch with PoE. I can't seem to figure out what's wrong with it and I do notice these were opened or used before because instructions crumpled up along with boxes not stored properly inside the original box. How do I get the IP address to show up? It's plug with the proper ethernet but it just not showing IP address
  9. I just bought a pair and found that it was been used. Somehow I can't seem to see the Ip addresses on it. How do I get the IP addresses to show up on my router? My switch got PoE connected to router.
  10. I bought a switch that supports PoE now but I returned the Swann back to Costco. Now, I want it back but problem is Synology doesn't have it listed as a support camera for their system. I dont even know if I can select a similar model for it to work or if it have to be the exact model to work on Synology Surveillance Station app.
  11. I am using DS213j, I realized most of the IP camera like latest ones are not in their Surveillance Station compatibility list. How do you even manually add it to their compatibility list if possible? Anyone here knows any good IP Surveillance Camera for outdoor that is compatible with DS213j? Thanks.
  12. Anyone power this up with their Synology Surveillance Station app? If so, did you use Hikvision as a brand and then for model picked a similar one like DS-2CD2012? I notice this one is a DS-2CD2032-I model but it was not listed on their support list. I returned mine in less than 1 hour but now that I got my PoE switch, I don't want to buy again if it doesn't work.
  13. Use one of the ONVIF camera options. id: admin Password is either 000000 or 123456 Do I need a PoE? Because I am using a Dlink Dir-655 and I see the IP address showing on my router. I took the IP address and pasted into the browser. There's no login. I got a gut feeling my router is not supporting PoE.
  14. Do I need a PoE for the Swann Cameras?
  15. I got my Synology and I tried hooking this up. It's asking for model, port, brand, username and password. I can't seem to find the exact model on Synology. How am I going to go around this?
