Thanks, I was just looking at the local community college for networking classes. I'm pretty familiar with wans and lans, but it's mostly OJT. I bet there's a few things I could glean from a proper class. I've been poking around here too! Very nice brain trust!

Just curious as to the best way to learn about CCTV? Is there a tech school? Online? or is OJT the better way to go? That said, what are the better, or best companies? I see the ADT ads on the tele, but is that the way to go?

Hi, I am currently unemployed with lots of time on my hands. I have experience in electronics, computers, and networking. I've been interested in branching out into CCTV installs for some time. I have a friend that needs an 8 camera system and I told him I'd look into what needs to be done. This site is a great resource and I hope to be learning and contributing whenever possible. Any suggestions on breaking and entering into the business?
