  1. I also experienced this issue past weekend as 4 of my 6 cameras disconnected withing 24 hours for no reason. Let me tell you it's not a great feeling being away and remotely logging in only to find 2 cameras online. Only after disconnecting/reconnecting the rj45 cable did the cameras come back. I figure if Lorex decides to stop supporting the product with firmware they should at least give us the blessing to run the Hikvision releases.
  2. I appreciate the reply JoeyJoey but this seems to be more than my simple knowledge of networks. Thanks again.
  3. Thanks Joey..but one more silly question..how do I manage to hook up the camera two both nvr and lan? Is there a certain spliter or switch required?
  4. Modem = Router Router = Switch + NVR Switch = Various computers etc NVR = 7 Cameras If it worth anything the changes to the camera were made while connected to the network through the switch & not directly to the Router itself.
  5. Ok, so I managed to setup the camera to email me the larger jpegs on motion dection when connected directly to my network but once I connect the camera back to the NVR nothing/nada frustrating. So I must me missing one important step to get this to work. My settings are as follows: Camera Motion Detection enabled Email Enabled NVR Email disabled from the Configuration/Network setting Motion Enabled from the camera/motion setting Email disabled from the camera/motion/action setting What am I missing?
  6. Thanks evnldr, Yes it was I who asked this question in another thread. The NVR email three photos that are postage size and in my opinion useless. I did call Lorex support to see if there was a way to increase the size of the jpg. and they told me there was no way to do it So if I am comprehending the procedure correctly, I am to delete my email settings from the NVR and enter my email settings directly on the camera? What about the toggles for motion detection, email etc. should they be enabled on the Camera or NVR? I was under the impression that the camera settings on the NVR were the actual settings from the camera.
  7. Has anyone managed to find a way to have the system email a larger photos of a motion detection? The postage size photos that the lorex system currently emails out are useless.
  8. The two pack domes are available to purchase directly from the Lorex website. I'm also in Canada and bought the lorex 4 pack bullet + nvr kit from costco.ca but it seems that they are now gone and have been relpaced with the Swann systems. Costco seems to be only carrying one brand of the kit or the other.
  9. So are the Costco Lorex/Swann camera's iterations of the Hikvision DS-2CD2012 or the DS-2cd2032? I have read so much about the different versions that my heads now spinning.
