  1. I own a surveillance installation company and just got done handing over footage to a police officer after a shooting occurred at one of my accounts. I notice every time there is gunfire, at night while the camera is in night vision mode and the IR lights are on, white specs fill the recorded picture. I have also noticed this on crime TV shows like the First48 and I have always wondered what causes this. I have always assumed it is gunpowder, but today's shooting occurred outside and well away from the camera. Making it hard for me to believe gunpowder could reach the camera so quickly, if at all. Just wondering if anyone else knows the cause of this and could explain it to me for my own curiosity.
