    Issues with port forwarding?

ActiveX. You won't be able to view it on your web browser until you've installed the ActiveX component. If you got a CD-ROM with your equipment it might be on there and might be called something like General_IE_V2.0.0.62_201206021.exe

    Playing .h264 videos

MKVToolNix - http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/ Download and install the Windows installer here: http://www.downloadbestsoft.com/MKVToolNix.html Once installed open MKVmerger.gui On the first screen click "add" and locate your .h264 file. Then click "Start Muxing". It will then show another window with a progress bar and will probably display an error message. Ignore this, click "OK" and then locate the folder with your .h264 file in it. You'll now see another file with the same name called .mkv. Double click that and it will open in Windows Media Player. I've also noticed that if you rename the file extension form .mkv to .avi the file still plays. There's plenty more settings in the program but as I've not needed to use them so far I haven't really had a play around with it.

Camera is blurry during night time - help

As it's looking over your driveway, you don't have any other light sources nearby do you like a wall light, door lantern, security light, etc? It might not be the IR. I had a similar problem that was caused by a PIR activated night light located near a dome camera.

  6. When you click "Main Menu" does it display a Username and Password prompt? If so, is there a default username already in the field? The password can sometimes be the same as the username.
  7. Hi, New to CCTV. Done a couple of domestic installs but nothing major. Will probably be doing more reading than posting so please don't delete my account.
