    NewDay Night cameras look snowy

This time I took a picture with my digital camera straight off the screen. It is an LCD screen. Does this look like a camera that is not working properly? It looks pretty good from where I'm standing. Not blurry or out of focus. Just a liitle bit of snow. The bright light in the center of the screen is my flash. Is was needed to get an acurate shot. Than I had to upload it to my online storage site. Because this site keeps telling me "Could not access ftp directory: 'attachments/thumbs'. Please check your FTP Settings" Dave

"If your camera don't support bright light conmpressing function, that may caused the picture blurry" How would I know if it has this function? Maybe it's just a setting. Thanks Dave

    NewDay Night cameras look snowy

This is the Pelco CCC1390. It is now set to day night mode. Does it look like it has a back focus problem? Here is what I don't get. During the day it looks perfectly clear. My picture is not quite as clear as it looks on my screen. But it is pretty close. Should the snow not be there? Also when I have it in day night mode. Cars headlights are so bright you can hardly tell what type of car it is. Here is another pic of just the Pelco. Does it look off focus. If so can you give me some clues how to better adjust the focus. Thanks a million! Dave Pelco CCC1390 At night During the day. From DVR recording. I cant do it straight from the camera till day light tomarrow. Would I be able to get away with the regular RG59 for a test? Just don't want to order the exspensive cable till I get my cameras right. Also the power cable I am using is pretty light duty. Could they not be getting enough power? Seems to me they would not work at all.

  6. I am using a Combination Power and Video Cable. I am having no problems. Everything is clear no interferance. My questin is. Will the video improve if I was to go with a Different type cable. Would I get more resolution. Every little bit helps when trying to read those licence plates. My cameras are high resoluton. True day/night. I am going to hook up another set of wires going to the same cameras soon for a pan and tilt. Any ideas on what cabling to use would help. One person told be I should use the cat 5 type wiring. I am about to put these wires underground. And don't want to have to redo it all later. Thanks for the help. Dave Here is a link for the cable I used. It is towards the bottom of the page. Ps all my cameras are less than 100 ft. from the dvr. EC-VPC100 http://www.hometech.com/video/composite.html

Cable question Combination Power and Video Cables

Do you mean that the ground is coppper on the RG59 as well as the center wire? (1 cat5e) how many wires would that be? What gauge are they? Are they for the zoom and focus. Low watage? What is a 1 16/4...My guess this means 1 set of 16 guage X 4wires. For the Pan and tilt? Here is what I need to run power for. The camera. It is 24 volt. Pelco 1390 And a power zoom lens. (Wide -Tele and focus) The pan and zoom. Pelco Pan and Tilt Model pt270-24p (By the way. Do I need a receiver for this pan and tilt. I thought I could just send 24 volt straight to the pan and tilt.) Can you tell me which wires would control what devise? I sure appreciate all the help. Dave

  15. Do you think the Pelco CCC-1390 is a good Day/Night camera? I just bought one new for $225.50 it is coming with an AMERICAN DYNAMICS AUTO IRIS-VARIFOCAL 3.5MM-8MM LENS I hope it's a 1.0 It only took about 70 hrs of reading out here and on Ebay to figure out that was the one I needed, Just can't get over how small it's going to be. Now I am looking for a small cylinder type housing for it . Also have a small pan and tilt coming for it. Maybe I will mount it in a bird house and mount the birdhouse on the pan and tilt. So that the bird house looks like it is sitting on the fence. What do you all think? Is it a good camera? What do you think of the bird house idea? Thanks for the input. Dave Link to the Pelco. http://www.pelco.com/products/default.aspx?id=478 Go ahead. Give me the good and the bad. I can take it. I got a killer price!!!!

  18. Which is the better camera? Pelco ccc1390H-6 it was used as a demo four times. It comes with a AMERICAN DYNAMICS AUTO IRIS-VARIFOCAL 3.5MM-8MM LENS. The price $xxxx http://www.pelco.com/products/default.aspx?id=478 The other camera is a Sony SSCE473 Brand new $xxxx No lens Included. http://bssc.sel.sony.com/BroadcastandBusiness/DisplayModel?m=10001&p=3&sp=145&id=77781 I plan to put it in this encloseure with this lens and pan and tilt scanner. Hopefully I can make it all work. One Question on the Pelco though. This camera only measures just over 2 inches wide X 2 inches tall and just over 2 1/2 inches long. Does'nt that sound a little small. Well I be able to mount this in a regular encloseure or is this camera for a dome ptz only? Thanks for the help. Does this sysytem sound workable

Is this a good camera for day and night? Its a Pelco camera CC3701h-2 http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/securitysupplies-store/3701.pdf I have a chance at two of them for $100 each new. And a Pelco Scanner with mount, encloseure and 13ZD6X10P 6-60mm power lens. The guy wants $220 for this set up. And $65 for shipping. http://fototime.com/4F68E880C697AAC/standard.jpg What do you think. I plan to use the Pelco cc3701h-2 with the Pelco scanner and 13ZD6X10P 6-60mm pwer zoom lens. Question is will that power lens work with that camera. Seems to me the specs say it will. And will this camera be a good day night camera. I need it to work good at night. My other question is will I be able to purchase and hook a control box up fairly easy? Seems like it will all work to me what do you all think. Here is the info on the scanner, enclosure and lens. Pelco EH8106 Enclosure, camera, 10x lens, pan/tilt, NR! Pressurized Enclosure with heavy duty pan/tilt mechnism,13ZD6X10P 6-60mm motorized 10x lens with color Camera Pelco CC4600-2 Color Camera. Used unit, camera and lens are in great condition and have been in nitrogen charged, heated enclosure...the pan/tilt works great on these...these are very heavy duty and include large mounting arm and brackets as shown. The camera that comes with this deal is a pelco CC4600-2 Color Camera. The specs are at this link. http://www.automatedsecurity.net/images/FixedColor.pdf#search=%22pelco%20cc4600-2%22 It doe's not seem from reading the specs that it would be a good night camera. That is why I was going to use the Pelco CC3701h-2 Thanks for your help. One more question. Will I be able to zoom in and out with that lens from inside my house with the proper controller. And will it focus on it's own or will the camera auto focus. I dont want to be messing around with focusing all the time. Thanks very much for your time and help. Dave
