  1. any can help me ? where i can find old firmware to upgrade to new hikfirmware ? currently the firmware of my swann cam hd-830 is 4.0.9 i suppose i need many versions to make it work with the most recent firmware
  2. i have swann 7200 NVR and 6 swann HD-820CAM (DS-2CD2032) i would like to get new hikvision firmware on thoses cam to use intrusion and line crossing detection... does this will help to reduce false alarm at night with outside camera but on the european site the firmware are too recents (they seem to have removed the old firmware) .. mines are from 2013... so i need earlier version. to support line crossing and intrusion do i will also need to update the NVR ? i did a update from swann site because email (google) was not working and after this im not able to acess cam that are directly pluged in the nvr and set a plug and play ... (i have two that are connected in a poe switch and thoses two are working perfectly)
  3. Hello, Anyone here have bought HIKVSION cam or NVR from China Security Monitoring Wholesaler on ALIEXPRESS. The name of the contact there is Melinda. They are legit ? and how it work for support / warranty ? She quoted me: DS-7608NI-SE/P 255 $ US (same as lorex) DS-2CD2032-I 138$ US so for a HIKVISION KIT like lorex it will be 807 $ US + shipping. Advantage of this: you get the cams with 3MP, you can choose the lens (4mm, 6mm and 12 mm) and it will work with the NVR (you will got all the settings) She also suggested me to buy DS-2CD3232-I5 for outdoor. ( seem to not support POE) what you think of the camera ? (strange IR) http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/DS-2CD3232-I5-Hikvision-camera-HD-IP-Camera-Network-IP-camera-w-IR-POE-IP66-3MP/904067_933654714.html For NVR I will ask her others prices. On ezcctv.com i can see that the DS-7608NI-SE-P-8 (lorex) is 40 mpbs and can support 8ch 720P (real-time) 4 CH @ 1080P (real-time) and 2 CH 5MP (non real-time) On other web site i can see that the DS-7608NI-SP is rated at 8 ch @ 20 Mbps ( look like the swann model - dont know why it rated less that the 7608-SE-P - processor seem bigger) DS-7708NI-SP is rated at 16 ch @ 20 Mbps (excl HD)dont know what that mean. DS-7616NI-SP is rated at 16 ch @ 40 Mbps DS-7732NI-SP is rated at 32 ch 80 Mpbs What i dont understand with HIKVISION NVR is that all series (76 - 77 - 96) seem to share all the same bandwidth depending of the channel. 20 Mpbs for 8 ch, 40 Mbps for 16 channel and 80 Mbps for 32 channels. Even the lower end 7608NI-SE-P is rated at 40 Mbps, Does it make sense ? Which NVR you suggest for 4-6 3mp cam. Thanks.
  4. After melinda from aliexpress suggested me the DS-2CD2232-I5 EXIR bullet for outdoor, i began to search on the web about it and i found that this model is based on the same raptor platform as the popular DS-2CD2032-I (Lorex and Swann). This cam seem to sell for around the same price of the DS-2CD2032 or maybe 20-30 $ more from DSD. If you go at the last page of the firmware release document you will see that the DS-2CD-2232-I5 is on the supported product list: http://www.zombiesmustdie.com/img/cams/Firmware_5.0.0_Release_Note_%28RAPTOR%29.pdf The IR range on this cam is rated at 80 m. The rectangle led seem to make the difference. You can read more about EXIR on this article: http://us.sourcesecurity.com/news/articles/co-3425-ga-npr.10234.html You can find the spec sheet of the cam on this link: http://www.hikvision.com/UploadFile/image/2013052414001577181.pdf What you guy think about this camera ?
  5. Saw this store, the prices are great but not many review and feedback from customers, I dont know if aliexpress is safe. Shipping is free also, maybe too good to be true ?
  6. I'm trying to see my cams on my IPHONE, and it seem to connect but i only got a black screen for all my cam. My ports 80, 8000, and 1025 are forwarded to the swann NVR. ( I changed the default http port 85 on swann to 80) Also, in the nvr UPnP is enabled on 8000, 80 and 554 from my wan ip. If i disable it, i'm not able to connect o the device. I called swann tech support and they told me that its my mobile phone carrier that have a prob. She told me that she is able to see my cam if she connect with her iphone (i didnt ask her if she used the carrier network or the local wifi network). Thats very strange, because 2 week ago when i got the lorex NVR i was able to connect remotly with my iphone and all was working well. If i connect my iphone to my local network using wifi it's seem to work. I will have to test with using wifi from public internet. I tried to install the iVMS04500 app from hikvision and also the Lorex netHD, they connect to the device ( i see that i have two cam) but it also show black screen when i try to view the cam. Any have a idea what is wrong ?
  7. Im trying by ip, when i will have time i will try to double check my port forward on router.
  8. There is no reason why that should be happening; uPNP is just a way so that the port forwarding will happen "magically", but if it does work that way, forwarding the same ports by hand can be done too. I know, it was working well with lorex, but if I disable the UPnP in the swann it dont work at all.
  9. I got it working but just using UPnP. The problem was that even if you change the 554 to 1025 in the network setting of the NVR, UPnP doesnt update the external RTSP port (still 554), so i changed in the UPnP setting of the NVR the RTSP external port to 1025 and now it work. As UPnP have some vulnerability, i would like to setting this up just by port forward (it was working with the lorex) If i forward port 80, 1025 and 8000 to my NVR (192.168.1.107) in my router and i disable the UPnP in the NVR, i got a connection failed msg and im not able to connect.
  10. On the Lorex, you do not have the admin web port forwarded. The Android app works without it. Joey, UPnP is disabled on your nvr ? You just foward port 80, 1025 and 8000 to the nvr ? I dont remember if lorex UPnP was disable by default, but from my router setting lorex was using 1025 as replacement of 554.
  11. I got a reply from ALIEXPRESS about the HIKVISION NVR, here are the prices: No HDD in thoses prices 255 $ US - DS-7608-NI-SE/P recording bandwidth = 40 Mbps - Outgoing bandwidth = ?? Mbps - Max Synchro playback = 4 ch. 1080p - 2 SATA ====> LOREX NVR 533 $ US - DS-7608-NI-SP recording bandwidth = 20 Mbps - Outgoing bandwidth = 80 Mbps - Max Synchro playback = 4 ch. - 2 SATA 639 $ US - DS-7616-NI-SP recording bandwidth = 40 Mbps - Outgoing bandwidth = 120 Mbps - Max Synchro playback = 8 ch. - 2 SATA =====> SWANN NVR 738 $ US - DS-7716-NI-SP recording bandwidth = 40 Mbps - Outgoing bandwidth = 120 Mbps - Max SYnchro playback = 16 ch. - 4 SATA + ESATA, 1,5 U 19" 983 $ US - DS-7732-NI-SP recording bandwidth = 80 Mpbs - Outgoing bandwidth = 160 Mpbs - Max Synchro playback = 16 ch. - 4 SATA + ESATA, 1,5 U 19" Im not sure about the the exact model for the swann NVR but it must be the DS-7616-NI-SP as the DS-7608-NI-SP only have 20 Mpbs bandwidth and cant support 8 ch 1080p recording. Swann NVR could also be a modified version of the DS-7608-NI-SE/P. Maybe that why Swann and Lorex blocked cam firmware to 1080p as these NVR cant record 8 3mp camera at full 30fps. Less customer support this way assisting them to reduce frame rate, etc... They sell a plug and play product. SP is for POE port, you can buy ST version with no poe port for maybe 100 $ less on the > 500 $ models. I found thoses specs on the HIKVISION europe web site. The swann NRV seem to be higher end than the lorex and the first offer of swann at costco was hard to beat.
  12. Did you put dhcp on the cam ?, if not maybe you can setup your router to give ip with the mac adresss or just a range of ip
  13. I called HIKVISION USA, and they told me that they only carry in US: DS-7608NI-SE/P and the DS-96XX-NI-ST. All other product will be special orders. The guy on the phone confirmed me that the DS-7608NI-SE/P is 40 Mbps and support 8 cam at 1080p at full bitrate.
  14. Hey, i see some chinese letters on the date, are you able to removle them ? When you open the web page of the camera do you have choice on language in the upper right corner ? I haven't really tried, but assume I can. This is the camera I had the problem with the IP address so have reset it to defaults several times. Its off right now (the POE switch is a little noisy), but will have another look at it after I've got through my work emails. So if you want any other snapshots let me know and I'll try my best.
  15. Hey, i see some chinese letters on the date, are you able to removle them ?
  16. Here is a youtube clip from EXIR 1.3 mp cam As you said, we see some small stuff close to the lens... their is always trade off but we clearly see the 50m sign.
  17. Buellwinkle, For the shipping: I didnt get price for shipping yet from DSD as they need to total weight and dimension to give me a quote. For a sample, she quote me the DS-2CD2232-I5 @ 200 $ US and the DS-2CD2032-I @ 175 $ US, both cam are 3 MP. For the POE: Hikvision specs seem to be comptabile with PoE (802.3af) - Max: 7 W (9W with ICR on). If you check on aliexpress its seem that is the DS-2CD3232D-I5 that doesnt support POE. The DS-2CD3232D-I5 look the same, and i was only about to find a spec sheet in chinese. For the HIKVISION NVR: Here is what DSD tell me about Hikvision NVR: "About Hikvision NVR, is Dahua brand NVR ok for you? Since there's still some remote problems with Hikvision NVR, it'll shift to Chinese version when remost IE visit, our technical colleague is testing it now. Pls don't worry, I'll let you know once got a result." I dont know what she mean by will shift to Chinese version. Do they sell NVR with USA/english firmware ? Do you know if Dahua NVR are compatible with HIKVISION camera.
  18. If you plug a computer in the poe port of the NVR you will be able to access the cam web page. You computer will need to be on the same subnet as the camera. Do you mean that if you change cam setting like Night, day, the NVR bypass the change made on the cam web page ? Also if you want to have all your cam on the same local sub net (192.168.1.xxx) , you will need to change the ip adress of all the cam on the cam web page. You also need to connect a cat5 cable from you local lan to one of the POE port of the NVR. You will then need to go in the nvr and select cam setup. You will modify each channel and select manual (not plug and play) and specify all the ip adress of the cam.
  19. Hey Joey, I suspect that Lorex = Swann = Hikvision too, when you plug a Lorex cam in the swann and you add it manually it show as swann protocol, so it the same protocol. They seem to just change name and maybe that why this not work plug and play if you dont CAT5 cable from your switch to 1 POE port of the NVR Hikvision firmware worked few day on the NVR, after i had the prob with the grease in on CAT5. The lorex unit seem to be a HIKVISION DS-7608NI-SE/P I returned the unit. I was able to modify camera in the NVR setting, and from the web page. (ie specify a Ip adress, protocol, etc) But if I remember correctly i was not able to delete cam. Maybe you can test more to confirm ?
  20. Buellwinkle, I send her a email for more NVR price and for a shipping quote for 4 cam and a NVR. I hope I will hear of her tonight. Do you know any online dealer for HIKVISION in north america ? I called HIKVISION and they to me the sell to distributors like ADI and TRI-ED. You have to be a security compagny to buy from them. I suppose the price will be higher this was. HIKVISION ----> ADI -------> LOCAL CCTV business ----> CUSTOMER.
  21. I got swann and lorex from costco. The lorex fan was louder than the swann.
  22. I was thinking that the shipping will 100-125 $ for 4 cam and 1 nvr.... i will check with DSD. For NVR, them see to support 5mp recording on the spec sheet. I dont know if it will better to use a computer to build a custom NVR with a software. Any know a mfg. who make I/O for input/output alarm board to fit in a computer and a NVR soft that will support it. Maybe the cheapest way is the to keep the swann 4 cam 1080p kit, but you are limited to 2mp with NVR, you loose some extra config. They locked some settings from HIK stock firmware
  23. I confirm that you can use LOREX bullet cam flashed with HIKVISION firmware in the swann NVR. Maybe someone can try with no flashed cam, i bet it will also work. You first need to access the cam config web page and setup the ip on your local lan ie (192.168.1.xxx) You then need to connect the NVR with your local LAN on both the LAN port and one of the POE ports of the NVR. (as Joey told 2 cables from your switch or router go in the NVR) After this you need to go to cam setting, edit, choose manual and specify the ip address of the cam. You leave the protocol to swann.
  24. As long as you change the cam to use dhcp and manually add them they get be on either LAN. You can connect both the nvr-lan and the nvr-poe-lan to your lan. I checked your diagram and understand what you mean. But if you put them all on the same subnet, what is your setting for the internal nic setting in the nvr? I will try to add cam manually on the stock swann. You just add it and select lorex or swann as protocol and give the ip adress of the camera ?. I tried on the flashed lorex and it dont seem to work. Maybe because the protocol is now hikvision and not lorex. Look like when you flash a cam it continue to show as lorex. Any one here was able to connect manually lorex to swann nvr or vise versa ?
