  1. What's the secret to making Axis Camera Companion recognize that you are running dual monitors. I can not seem to get the grid mode moved over to the 2nd monitor. If I move ACC to the 2nd monitor, it still opens the grid mode on my primary monitor. Kinda of making me want to pull my hair out.. I want to run ACC in grid mode, yet it cover up my primary monitor so I can not get any work done Or better yet, why does it not allow nothing but full screen in grid mode.
  2. Hi, New to the world of video surveillance. Have decided on either Mobotix or Axis to cover the homestead / property. I Like the decentralized / edge way that Mobotix and Axis use. Write to SD card, or to NAS Just not sure which camera manufacture yet. Looking for input from the experts here. 4000 sqft home sitting on approx 2 acres. Trying to figure out how many of the Mobotix I would need vs the Axis. I read somewhere, may have been on the Mobotix site that one Mobotix can replace six of xyz's cameras? Thanks in advance for any advice!
  3. Thanks. redid the calibrate. according to the pop-up help seems I'm missing all these little options
  4. Might have to. It's now placed / wired / etc colors are off, nothing i can do makes the focus any better P3384 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHVUJQt3gvM
  5. that's pretty cool. is it in a PTZ? if not how's it tracking. They doing like mobotix? Wish I could get my 3367 to focus 1/2 as good as that. Mine looks like crap
  6. I think that would be me I got the 3384,3364 and the 3367 Not sure I like the 67. The 84 makes way better recordings as of now. But it could be I have no clue on how to set them all up yet. The 67 is all grainy and just looks crappy
  7. is this mounted to high? mounted at 10'6" ceiling is 14'.2"which was way too high temp mount on the wall to get the perfect spot.. I'm so freaking tired of moving this 12ft ladder around. yea, i know it's still out of focus a bit. this is the P3384-VE shot around almost 6pm mounted the P3364 next to it, not real happy with the 64 yet. 2nd pic is the 3364, zoomed in a little. having a heck of a time with the exposure on the P3364..
  8. Thank you... perfectly put. And if you remove the bright sky from your FOV, you may find that the camera's dynamic range goes a LOT further. Even a non-WDR camera can sometimes function adequately if you cone-down the FOV. ********* Edit *********** In other words, put the very top of the frame just below the top of the treeline. Right about at the level of that top horizontal bar that goes across the lanai would be ideal. ********* Edit *********** And that's a VERY nice house you have... kudos! Thanks!! It's sitting on ledge where my flat screen is, well below it where the DirectTv box sits. so not a permanent place yet. just sitting there out of the housing while I play with it and get the hang of all the controls. You guys are awesome with all the tips.. First time for me messing around with any of these cameras Again Thanks!
  9. P3384 does not have that feature for some reason. or I have not been able to find it --Edit never mind, have to put it in light finder mode to get into those settings Have you tried "Enabled Backlight compensation" in the Camera settings? That should take care of it... Yea, almost got it figured out. My test subject is starting to look good. Right in the middle of the transition from bright to dark part of the patio. Just need to figure out the pixelation issue when zoomed in Thanks for the excellent tip on the exposure zones!! nice vid on how to set them up
  10. P3384 does not have that feature for some reason. or I have not been able to find it --Edit never mind, have to put it in light finder mode to get into those settings
  11. not sure that would achieve the goal for this placement. I need to catch both sides of the pool. Well not so much as the pool, but both side of the patio due to one can approach from either side opps. your post was about the others issue. sorry
  12. inside it looks good
  13. Well, Played with the 3384VE for a couple hrs yesterday and last night. Not sure what to think about it. Seems there is an issue when there is bright background and subject is in the shadows closer to camera According to the lit / marketing this is what this model was for. Not sure you could recognize someone with this type lighting. it's about 5 in the evening in these shoots. Could be I just don't have it all setup just yet
  14. Awesome, all 3 cameras showed up this morning. Talk about fast shipping. now to to get in over my head and start playing with these things First one out of the box P3384-VE see if I can figure out how to set it up on my desk here and play around
  15. Pulled the trigger on 1 of each to see what works best. 3364 3367 3384 I'll set them up, see what looks best and go from there. Get 30 days to play with them, so win-win. once I get them setup, I'll post some vids etc. Should be here by friday I hope. Got this for the POE switch Netgear FS726TP PROSAFE™ 24 PORT 10/100 SMART SWITCH WITH 2 GIGABIT PORTS AND 12 PORT POE
  16. Yes, reading it and just finished the 3384 review. Some times I just hate choices Never know if your making the right one. But hey, that's why you guys are here. Help guide me to make the right choice and if I drop 15k-20k on video, I don't have to take the heat for it when wife asks.. I'll just blame all of you!
  17. Thanks Buell, I will check the reviews. I was thinking of putting the Axis P3384-VE - For back patio/pool area. Due to the way the sun makes the poll area really bright, but the patio part shady. thoughts? AXIS P3384-VE: Color: 0.5 lux, F1.2, B/W: 0.08 lux, F1.2 with dynamic capture Color: 0.15 lux, F1.2, B/W: 0.03 lux, F1.2 with Lightfinder
  18. This 3367 does not have that light finder, so it switches to black and white at night correct? whereas the 3364 with the light finder stays in color mode if enough light. so, before pulling the trigger on 67 or 64 what are the major plus / minus of this. one being 5mp the other 1mp what difference does color at night vs b/w make is it better to have the 5mp or the 1mp that stays in color when it can? only about 300-400 bucks between the 2 cameras 64 seems to be a newer model, the 67 is a couple years old. what are the general plus / minus of each camera from corner of house to center line of roadway about 100ft, width of front say 80ft give or take Maybe get one of each and decide? here's the property lines
  19. hahah, I wish. Just big couch babies. Dobes are 11 year old, 8 year. Shepard is 7 months old. Little white mean dog we rescued from the pound is 5 years old. His name is Convict The bicycle riding, book thumping crew rings the doorbell and before I can get there, they are usually standing in the middle of the street with the "Ohhh never mind look in their eyes" Anyway, guess I'll place the order for 2 cameras to play around with today. P3367-VE at 5MP for front P3384-VE for pool area Play with these, then decide on the others. Looks like the only 33 series that has IR is the P3364-LVE
  20. No so much worried about the daytime With me at the home office, and my babies Those are good tips buell. I was under the impression that the 5's did not do well in low light. Also, just going to start with the 4 camera's as a way for me to get a handle on all these new toys. Will end up with more then 9 or 12, by the time I cover the yard + a few in the house
  21. plan is to use the sd cards for a temp solution while I get the NAS in place. Camera does all the work, then dumps the events to a NAS if I understand what I'm reading.
  22. That's what I was thinking. for the time being stick to one brand. Can always add NVR later. Don't think the wife will mind one more computer running.. already 6 running hahah what are your opinions on these; Axis P3364-VE - general front of home / by garage x 2 ( 2.5-6 mm lens, 105° - 49° view) Axis P3384-VE - backyard pool area x1 (3-9 mm lens 84° - 30° view) Axis P3364-LVE - side yard low / to no light x 2 (3.3-12 mm lens 82° - 24° view) ((can add some motion detection spot lights if needed)) Thanks
  23. how do you find the mixing of cameras and the operation headaches? With the mixing the brands I guess you have to have that NVR instead of using the built in one that the mobotix has.
  24. Wow, something that I failed to research while doing the looking at the cameras. Guess I need to read more on all this. I can put white light all around the property, as you can see from the pics above the lights would not bother anyone. Well might make the wife ask "why are you making this lit up like it's daytime" I've talked to a couple people here in Orlando, and they are mostly commercial and will not do residential. The ones that do residential are using some cheaper cameras. And again, thanks for the replies
